When we're casting about for something to inspire a rant, an article about "fill-in-the-blank parenting" is usually a safe bet. This week, it's "lazy parenting." Surprise! It's not lazy at all!

When a child disrespects his/her elders, it speaks volume about the parents and that child's upbringing.

Please stop making your lazy parenting a trend. It isn't nice to see youths and adults unable to do things for themselves because their parents didn't raise them right. Also stop covering up your lazy parenting with "oh the child had is a special needs child". I understand that that can happen but stop blaming everything on medical, mental or special cause issues. I have seen more than enough where these parents want to just give birth to their kids (for financial sake or what else have you), but they never really supervise their kids nor do they teach them about values. Thank God my parents instilled values in me.

My lizard brain apparently thought since husband’s clutter has been a problem for 20 years and roommate’s clutter has been a problem for 10 I would be stuck with daughter’s clutter for decades too.  Realizing that in another 6 years she won’t want half of the toys she currently owns was very reassuring.
