I just think theyre?? So neat?? Imagine: layton moving into stansbury and randall introduces him to the stansbury gang. angela, dalston, and then henry. and layton kind of just stands there mouth slightly open like

cuz immediately hes like who is this FREAK!! I NEED TO KNOW HIM MORE!! so he starts asking randall about henry (“randall, how do you know henry?” “hershel, you can just say you have a crush on him”)
whenever henry and layton do find the chance to talk to eachother it gets INSANELY awkward because after exchanging like 4 sentences the convo goes dead silent (silent because layton gets flustered/nervous and silent because henry has that “if theres nothing to say dont say anything” mentality” (but also because hes nervous about talking to the new person))
at some point it just becomes glaringly obvious to everyone else in the stansbury gang that layton has a crush on henry. dalston says he doesnt care (he does: hes happy someone else cares for henry) angela says she thinks its cute, randall just smirks and says “ive known from day 1”
henry is kind of oblivious about his feelings? he’ll catch himself thinking “layton looks really pretty in that lighting” or “i wish we could talk more” but then he writes it off like “wow ive never wanted to be someones best friend THIS bad”
They’re so stars x moon coded. Layton is the stars. He keeps everything in balance. Hes always there to listen but also to ramble. He’s there to offer guidance when someone is lost. Henry is the moon. Reserved and quiet, but he has everyones best interests in mind. He cares alot for his friends. Compared to the sun (randall) he may not shine the brightest but in the stars (layton’s) mind, he’s the most illuminating of them all.
