Lush Lawns and Smart Upgrades (Alberta Motivation)
There’s something about a truly green, even, “walk barefoot without dodging thistles” lawn that just calls to me. Ours has… potential, but lately it’s been more patchy than plush thanks to inconsistent watering and the usual chaos of our Foley soil.
I stumbled onto a page from Oasis Irrigation and Hardscapes about their irrigation work in Alberta (https://oasisirrigationandhardscapes.com/alberta/), and I’ve been low-key obsessed ever since. What caught my eye was their honest talk about Alberta’s humidity and unpredictable seasons—replace “Alberta” with “Foley” and it’s practically our situation.
They’re all about smart systems: custom layouts, parts that last, even upgrades like water-saving controllers and even coverage. Their approach made me realize that my lawn isn’t struggling out of laziness—more like it’s up against a climate that changes its mind every week. The page also mentioned full service plans, including checkups, part swaps, and leak inspections, so stuff doesn’t just quietly fall apart under the grass.
Now the gears are turning: what if we finally invested in a real system? No more taco-shaped brown patches, no more anxiety every time we go out of town. I’d love to step outside and see the kind of lawn that neighbors ask about. Maybe someday! For now, at least, it’s on the vision board—and I know which link to revisit if I need a pep talk.
