@lavandul​ asked : The soup had given the aroma of comforting sheltered days and a heady warmth that made her mouth water as she stirred in the mixed spices alongside the vegetables that have already been stirred in. Satisfying in thickness, it was easier to dip in a chunk of bread and use that as a spoon rather than dig into her bag and find something she could work with. The night was a bit chilly, and Lavender put all her love into this dish, just like how she put all her love into every action of her heart. It was the everything type soup, where every part was used with some of the local Liyue spices she managed to buy from the merchants down the road. As Lavender stirred, the bushes shifted, and in a moment, her kind smile is removed, and she's holding her bow in her hand and kneeling, pulling it over her leg and crouching rather than standing. The moment she saw a man walkthrough, a sigh leaves her lips, her heart pounding in her chest.

" Oh goodness, you scared me... " Instead of looking at the face, her golden eyes are focused on the Dendro vision attached to their hip and her glow faintly upon her necklace. " My, I haven't seen another Vision with Dendro in a very, very long time. I apologize for startling you... " she smiles, sitting back down by her makeshift pot and motioning her hand at her dinner. " I made a bit too much for one person. Would you like to join me, stranger? "

Sylvie’s initial venture into the more wooded areas was with the intention of hunting ingredients, but their goal quickly veered off into locating what that delicious smell was wafting through the air and making their mouth water. Spices, veggies, what more could one ask for? 

Well, the answer was an arrow pointed in their direction which made the god stiffen up and raise their hands in a non-threatening gesture. Thankfully, it seemed like they didn’t need to do much more, and they were getting invited to soup to boot! It did definitely take them a few moments to let that sink in though, mouth opening and closing before they just decided to take the offered seat. 

“Oh gods, no no, don’t worry about it. Won’t be the first time, won’t be the last!" For having a weapon pointed in their face ... but they didn’t need to say that out loud. “Soup is always more than welcomed, honestly it’s kinda why I made my way over ... well, of course it was initially to do some foraging myself but...”

They made an exaggerated motion of inhaling in before letting their shoulders slump in a relaxed motion. “It looks super delicious though. It is nice to meet a fellow Dendro user as well!” Cough fake Dendro cough. 

                          the  stars  have  always  existed  above  the  depths  of  the  sea,  her  arrows  𝐒𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐊𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆  through  the  sky,  the  shooting  stars  𝐆𝐋𝐈𝐌𝐌𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆  over  your  domain.  the  void  of  the  heavens  𝐄𝐌𝐁𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐄  each  star  as  a  mother  would,  her  canvas  something  that  the  hydra  wished  to  𝐒𝐄𝐈𝐙𝐄,  to  gorge  each  searing  white-hot  orb  and  absorb  the  power,  it  would  𝐁𝐔𝐑𝐍  𝐘𝐎𝐔  from  the  inside  out  /  but  would  that  be  what  the  𝐃𝐈𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐄  feel?  

                            she  laughs  amongst  the  court;  you  eternally  gaze  at  her  when  she  speaks,  your  once  sardonic  tongue  upon  morax’s  preaching  𝐒𝐈𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐃  whenever  she  whispers  the  will  of  the  celestial  heavens.  seldom  you  imagine  flying  amongst  the  night  sky;  it  is  𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐕𝐄  with  each  twinkling  star;  somehow,  her  canvas  made  you  less  isolated  from  the  trenches  of  the  ocean.  you  wanted  to  𝐅𝐄𝐄𝐋  it,  to  sculpt  it  in  your  tendrils,  to  𝐅𝐄𝐄𝐋  that  𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐌𝐓𝐇  of  the  divine  providences  while  it  is  cold  and  abysmal  here.  

                            the  darker  the  night,  the  brighter  the  stars,  yet  the  𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆  white  light  twinkles  faintly  in  the  sky  as  they  weep.  the  stardust  falls  into  the  ocean  as  you  capture  her  as  she  falls,  𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐇𝐋𝐄𝐒𝐒  as  she  holds  onto  you,  the  spear  through  her  abdomen  and  flowing  ichor.  it  stains  your  hands,  and  you  𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐂𝐄  the  war  that  managed  to  take  down  your  𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐎𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆  𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑,  your  reason  to  look  up  from  the  depths,  the  serpent  that  wished  to  consume  the  stars  is  now  𝐖𝐀𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆  when  finishing  the  job.  

                            the  𝐒𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐅𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍  of  your  tranquil  evenings  𝐒𝐇𝐀𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐒  into  pieces  as  you  kiss  her  forehead,  yearning  𝐔𝐍𝐑𝐄𝐐𝐔𝐈𝐓𝐄𝐃  as  she  explodes  like  a  𝐒𝐔𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐍𝐎𝐕𝐀.  your  domain  ripples,  tides  were  crashing  against  the  shore,  𝐎𝐁𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆  the  earth  in  a  sudden  destructive  force  that  has  even  yourself  withering  away.  you  are  singed,  𝐒𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐃  from  the  flame  of  her  passing,  the  burns  upon  your  scales  causing  you  to  return  to  the  abyssal  ocean,  this  weight  in  your  chest  /  what  is  it?  what  is  it?  WHAT  AM  I  FEELING?  

                            you  wake  up  thousands  of  years  later,  walking  upon  the  liyue  shores.  the  stars  no  longer  glow  as  lively  as  they  once  did;  their  master  has  left  her  prized  canvas  for  eons  now.  but...  you  hear  laughter,  like  windchimes  and  gentle  rain,  familiar  and  nostalgic.  you  turn,  you  pause,  and  by  the  gods,  you  are  𝐒𝐈𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐓.  

                                she  has  her  dress  up  by  her  knees,  scrunched  up  in  her  hands  as  she  is  walking  into  your  tides,  and  she’s  speaking  to  something  in  the  water  like  it  is  her  friend.  that  feeling  is  back  in  your  chest  again  before  you  walk  forward  quickly,  𝐃𝐎  𝐍𝐎𝐓  𝐋𝐄𝐓  𝐇𝐄𝐑  𝐄𝐒𝐂𝐀𝐏𝐄.  the  tides  make  way  as  you  walk  in  and  disturb  the  peace  as  you  grab  for  her  arm,  turning  her  around  with  wide  eyes.  

                                you  ignore  her  yelp  as  you  peer  into  her  gaze;  she  has  no  idea  who  you  are,  but  that  does  not  matter,  and  you  clench  her  wrist  more.  

                          “  marry  me.  “ 

❝ Do you think it is possible for me to understand why the humans do what they do? Or must I be so drenched in the blood of our enemies that I am fated never to know what it means to walk through life as they do? ❞ Morax wondered aloud to his companion in a rare moment of vulnerability, who seemed to have a unique fondness for those they protected together. 

A thoughtful smile was gifted to him as she spoke, ❝ Oh, Morax, you will never be so far gone. Worrying says you care enough not to let yourself, no? You will grow, if you wish. ❞

—a clip on his shoulder from a passerby snapped him out of the memory and Guizhong’s face washed away from his vision, but her words lingered. They still do and always will. Zhongli caught the woman’s gaze and realized with a tinge of belated embarrassment that he’d been staring, and she had caught him. Sheepishly, he strolled up to her, bowing in apology. 

❝ Forgive my spacing out, as the younger generation calls it. I did not mean to stare like that. If you are inclined to accept my apology, would you care to indulge a stranger to stories over tea? I don’t recognize you, and I know everyone in Liyue Harbor. Surely, you must have splendid tales of travels, yes? ❞ While Zhongli has not known the stranger’s face, the memory that came up and swallowed him whole in the middle of the marketplace makes him feel as though it would be a sincere shame not to make an effort to remedy that fact.
