A completely innocuous encounter, until an overbooked flight means Calum makes a decision that surprises even himself. Michael contemplates but nods slowly. He takes another blow of his joint and observes Ashton lighting his own before speaking. “I’ve been doing a lot of research on it lately. I don’t know how to tell people because they,” He pauses to sigh again, “wouldn’t get it.”

Michael should say no, I want to fucking sleep, it’s three o’clock in the fucking morning and I’ve only just got started resetting my sleep schedule, and you can’t just expect me to drop everything for you, it’s not like you’re my boyfriend.

“Yeah,” he says. “I’m leaving out the window. Give me five minutes.”

Summary: Checking that there was no one waiting behind him, Michael sends Christine a smile before making his way towards Broad Shoulders and Pretty Face. He doesn’t notice Michael right away, only looking up when Michael clears his throat.

Despite the clear defeat that sits on his face, his brown eyes are warm and his cheeks full and adorable, the curls cut into some kind of mullet framing all of it beautifully. Michael’s easily charmed, but he’s never been charmed by a guy on the verge of tears before.

Summary: Luke was waiting for romance. He was waiting for the guy that sweeps him off his feet, that wants him for everything he is and isn’t afraid to show it.

He used to be sure that guy was out there. Now he’s pretty sure he’s not.

Summary: It doesn’t take him long to find Ashton. He’s sitting along the stream, toes dipping in the calm water. The moon casts a light so gentle over his profile that Michael’s breath almost catches in his chest. They’re a long way from the time they fell in love, but in moments like these, when it’s the middle of the night and Ashton’s features and whole demeanour radiate youth and innocence, it feels like the first time Michael looked at him and realised he hadn’t thought of him as a friend in a long time.

Summary: “Can you drive?” Luke asks, picking at the skin around his nails absently, eyes still locked on Ashton. He pulls at a piece of skin hard enough that it stings, and even though he doesn’t look down, he knows it’s bleeding. The ache is minimal though, covered by numbness that refuses to let the pain breathe freely.

“Are you okay?” Ashton counters, brows furrowed deeply.

“Yeah, an iPod. Why is that, btw?”
