Ultimate Custom Night Prompts
Mike was, indeed, breathing heavily, as the night had been far more stressful than usual. The downpour of rain that had started around three in the morning was making his bad leg throb, a distraction he really didn’t need when his life was on the line. With how sloppy some of his calls had been, it was a miracle he had made it to the end of his shift unscathed.
As six arrived, Mike had taken a moment to just sit in silence, trembling hands gripping the desk for support. God, he was tired. Before he knew it, what was supposed to be a minute to compose himself had turned into several, staring down his pale face in the dark camera screen. Now someone was in the building, which most likely meant enough time had passed that another employee had arrived.
Wearily raising his shaggy head, he turned to face the other in the doorway. “It’s been a really long night.” He offered simply in reply. Understatement of the century. “Please tell me you didn’t break in. I, uh, really don’t have it in me to try and restrain you. That, and I’m off the clock.”
