how did you like the last outpost?!
omg thank you for the question!!!!! MWAH <3 we're having a book club
overall i enjoyed it, i thought it was in character and the horror of it all was very.... effective? when they didn't find bodies in the morgue i actually shivered a little, and then when they found a dead dog...... also there was something so right about sam tending to the cows and dean to the chickens :)) it was all.. bittersweet
i do think it had a bit too many descriptions (i'm prolly saying that bc i know jack shit about the geography of the us. hell i don't even know the regions of my own country mostly hxsfgcy i have the mind of a frickin. turkey. or ocean sunfish <3 but nvm), so if that's what you meant by the writing being sort of abrupt, i agree!
but otherwise i absolutely see why people love this one, the author is Very talented and wrote this fic with so much,, care. it just so happens that it didn't hit many of my specific buttons, you know?? that's not a bad thing, i just prefer short and intense fic (like i didn't get a gut punch feeling from last outpost Or a 'my heart is full of love i'm gonna explode' feeling)
so i'm also sorry to the last outpost of all that is enthusiasts :D it was really really very good but i didn't fall in love for some reason!
yeah i like that sam's keeping a tally of all the people that are gone because. that's something i definitely wouldn't do (both bc i'm Obviously not prepared for a situation like that hdsdfydgx and because i wouldn't want to be aware :(( shit's depressing). it's so. winchester. So sam
i'm also reading the last outpost of all that is :)) i couldn't yesterday

They were in some small but carefully kept roadside motel just outside Calloway, Virginia, one more stepping stone to yet another strange place further on. One more break in the asphalt ribbon that served as their yellow brick road, that ephemeral promise of an end somewhere, somewhen, an idea other than that the road went ever on. Waiting for their real lives to begin, or end so fast that it didn’t matter anymore.
Last Outpost Of All That Is (gekizetsu)
The Last Outpost by Andreas Rocha
So I finally put together a shadow box of the swag I got from sponsoring The Last Outpost. I'm going to distress the frame somewhat, but otherwise I'm happy with it. Also worth noting: taking pictures of glass fronted shadow boxes is HARD! sawdustbear lookie! (Or at least take a look when you have a break from professional arting.)
