Sea I'm sending this to you cause I know you'll understand. I'm a larrie and have been since late 2012 when I entered the fandom. So I have seen everything with Larry, every little sketchy things, every "proof" that happened, I saw them when they happened. But everytime Harry seems to flirt with some girl, or seems interested in someone else than Louis, my first reaction is to ask myself "what if they're not together anymore ?" "What if they broke up a long time ago ?" And I reanalyse -
- everything that happened and that made me believe they were together a month ago, I just rethink everything. But Iâm afraid to blind myself because Iâm so used to them being a thing that I think I would be really sad if they broke up (I know itâs not healthy..). But anyway, Iâm sending this in the first place because I saw the pics of Harry looking insistently and smirking at Candice Swanepoel (donât know if this is how you spell it) when she went past him on the runway, and I donât know it - didnât look like a friendly smile but more like a flirty smile and, basically thatâs it Iâm freaking out because of this. Like you can show me pictures of Harry papped being âall overâ his girlfriend I wouldnât care cause I know itâs planned and fake, what really makes me âdoubtâ Larry (as in doubt that theyâre still a thing) is when little things like this happen, when it is organic⊠I donât know if you saw the pictures but what do you think of it ? What are your thoughts ?__________
Hi, Your feelings are not silly if they affect you. Larries are here because we believe that love is stronger than the powers that try to destroy it. Louis and Harry represent hope⊠hope that maybe this time, it wonât end badly. That true love will prevail. That the industry can change from within, and allow for greater tolerance and equality, and that perhaps tolerance in the entertainment industry can be a beacon toward greater tolerance in society. They have fought so hard for the community in the past, and continue to do that, in the ways that they can. No matter what happens, they will support the community.
Second, as to whether theyâre still together. As we know from the events of the last 18 months, we know so little of their real, interior lives. What we see is a tiny sliver. Thereâs no way we know for sure, receipts or no receipts. In a way, thatâs progress. Theyâre real men, living real lives. Theyâre artists, songwriters and singers whose craft demands a certain theatricality and bit of acting when theyâre in the public, at all times.
Iâm sure that in the past, when they were younger, there were times when they felt out of control, with fans having too much of their personal information⊠whether the information was true or not. Theyâre in more control now, and their privacy is precious.
When they are in public, they are being their personas. They will not show their true selves to the public because their careers, their sales, and their images, depend on these personas. Everything we see is consistent. Harry spends a long time in interviews not answering a thing, because he wants to stay consistent. We laugh about âHelp me, Jeffrey!â but Harry panics because he wants to stay consistent. Heâs charming and media trained, but there are things that make him uncomfortable and insecure.
The smiles he gives to people/ Candice are because they are consistent with his persona, AND because Harry is a kind, lovely person. If they come off as flirtatious, he has succeeded in being charming and all-around adorable.
The best way to gauge whether Larry are together is not by looking at each thing that happens (each song, each interview, each update, each Twitter troll account, each pap sighting) but by looking at a general trend. As you know, things appear very different in retrospect. There may be a lot happening behind the scenes, but we wonât know it until much, much later. And in a way, this is progress too.
Finally, we take their journeys personally, but they are not ours. They belong to themselves. Remember what Harry wanted most of all? Freedom. He was happiest in Jamaica, away from everything and everyone. Theyâve grown up and theyâre men now. Letâs step back and give them some freedom. Whether theyâre together or not, theyâre good men. They wonât let us down.
