Description
F. U. Wrangel originally intended to become an artist and studied painting in Düsseldorf, Munich, Venice and Florence. On his return to Sweden in the mid 1880s, he became a royal genealogist instead. His book about Prince Gustav (VI) Adolf ’s descent from the House of Vasa explains why Lundberg has portrayed him in Renaissance costume. Wrangel is chiefly remembered as the man who was forced into exile after embezzling funds from Queen Sofia.
