We usually get to Colchuck right as light kicks off the morning. Legs are just starting to thaw, first snacks are consumed, first views are seen, and a little bit of a break from going uphill is granted. And then you see this. Seattle has always been a little too big for me. Too busy, too many people, too much traffic. I didn't grow up in a big city. I used to say I "hated" Seattle because of this. But after living here for over 16 years, I've started to fall in love with it. Why? There are a lot of reasons... but the main one is because places like this are only a few hours away. One day you can be sitting in bumper to bumper traffic. That same day you can stare down over an alpine lake from a mountain top.
