Trying to decide if I should get my current laptop repaired, or if I should get a new laptop. I was told that the headphone jack being broken is usually a motherboard issue, and that can cost a lot to fix/replace. I'm wondering if a new laptop would just be a better investment.

I woke up today so excited that I would finally have my laptop back, but a lot of stuff happened and I won’t have it for a little while. And it’s just so shitty and I feel bad because the guy at Best Buy was trying so hard to figure something out and he was really cool and it wasn’t his fault at all what happened, but it’s just really frustrating because I have thesis stuff due and my brother’s laptop is nine years old and barely works.
Well, looks like my pc laptop is crashing more (flipped out twice in one day! legit thought for a couple hours I had lost Second Chances) so I guess I've delayed learning how to use the new macbook long enough. It lasted a good 5-6 years and was slowing down enough that I knew the end times were approaching, hence getting the macbook a few months back, but it is still a little surreal.
Might be a little spotty here and on ao3 while I learn how to work my usual sites and apps on a different laptop.
Probably going to get another SeaGate external hard drive, thinking either 1TB or 2TB (probably just 1TB). I've got one already but it's old and keeps fucking up (disconnecting randomly, laptop having trouble reading it sometimes, making me having to unplug and plug it back in)
