FYI: Starting tomorrow I´ll be off on a 3-day roadtrip across northern Finland, also known as Lapland. 🚗

Main purpose of the trip is to head all the way up to Kittilä (situated 👇)...

... and visit a place we´ve been planning on visiting for years but never got around to it - until now!

The place in question is the atelier/home of one of my favorite Finnish artists/painters of all time: Reidar Särestöniemi.

He was a bit of an oddball, a true Laplandish “shaman” and wild man if you will, and his life and creations have fascinated me for years, hence this “pilgrimage” now.

I hear the place is remote af and in the middle of NOWHERE, so this could be one truly interesting trip... There may even be some reindeer types roaming the roads! 🦌

On the way back the plan is to perhaps swing across the border into Sweden and then drive down along the border river all the way to Haparanda - which you may remember from my previous series regarding Finland:
