Hello hello, lurker here! :D I know I still do, but only because that’s where I’d gotten my initial startup and any modicum of pageviews tbh. But nowadays, popularity on dA doesn’t necessarily correlate with skill,rather skin and popular fandoms.
Hello, lurker :3 DeviantART was the place where I, too, got my initial startup as an online artist. I do still get comments there and I read every one of them and try to reply to any questions I might get, but I don't really check other artists' galleries or interact with people the way I used to.
And IMO you can say the same thing about Tumblr and skill/popularity. A ton of notes on a post ≠ quality. There are plenty of skilled artists here who produce beautiful pieces of art, but who don't get the recognition they deserve.

ugh maiNOKSET. se on kai väistämätön sivutuote kun joku sivusto kasvaa… oon tullut siihen käsitykseen et deviantART on nykyään niin massiivinen yritys (voiks sitä jo sanoa yritykseks) et se alkaa melkein jo haitata kuvien julkasemista :D

Niinpä. Plus että taso siellä (ainakin mun silmissä) laskenu järkyttävästi, niin että et taida jäädä mistään kauheesti paitsi jos et siellä enää käy :D
Liityin sinne tosiaan jo 7 vuotta sitten ja se sivusto oli aikas erilainen vuonna 2006. Nykyään se tuntuu olevan monelle vaan yleinen online galleria. Sinne tungetaan kaikki paskat kännykällä napatut omakuvat ja huonosti skannatut ruutupaperituherrukset jne.
