PSA: The Danish language is fucked up
āLuc Sante, French Without Tears (The Genius of Language)
ngl the way americans and other ppl whose first/only language is English write abt like, dirty talk in foreign languages is very funny bc it's very much unsexy and awkward to change languages in the middle of a situation even in an everyday situation but with eastern european languages ESPECIALLY like. as a polish person seeing ppl write abt russian or other EE languages being ~sexy~ or whatever is hilarious bc they very much are not and the words associated with sex are usually clinical or ugly
(note to that last ask - im polish so im just speaking from personal experience but yeah like. dirty talk is Insanely awkward in polish and in the other EE languages i can somewhat recognize like russian bc sexual words are usually used in an either very crude and ugly manner or a humorous one. that or they're super clinical)
this is very good information for writers thank you anon
like, I'm guessing if a writer really wanted to write smut where a character wants to hear another character talk dirty in an EE language the writer should make it more of a funny scene (like, maybe the character doing the dirty talk just starts laughing halfway because it's so weird and they can't get into the mood while they're doing it, or perhaps they just start saying random words in the language instead because the other character doesn't know what they're saying anyway)? or just make it very romantic "dirty talk" that isn't really dirty talk and is more just... sweet talk? (pls correct me if I'm wrong, I don't speak any EE language)
Some fun facts Iāve learned about the Bangla alphabet while studying it so far:
-unlike English, it has an inherent vowel, which is the sound you make if thereās no other vowel around
-it has a couple repeat vowels because the current language no longer differentiates long and short vowels of that sort, but Sanskrit did, and thatās where the alphabet comes from
-thereās a bunch of other combined vowels like /ri/ and /li/ which arenāt even used anymore, but are really cool for showing the descent from Sanskrit
(Part one of god knows, since I have so much time to work on all my language projects now)

Gente VS Persone - Italiano
Gente
Originates from the Romans: they used to callĀ āgensā the people (different families) descending from the same ancestor. Nowadays it can refer to a Nation, a population, or even just a group of people. With another noun, it can specify the nature of the group of people: gente ricca = rich people, gente povera = poor people, gente di mare = sea people.
Persone
Plural ofĀ āpersonaā to be intended as āhuman beingā, āpersonā. This word originates from theatre. It is used, for example, to specify the use of means of transport (opposed to treno merci => cargo train). With a possessive adjective can be used as a personal pronoun: la mia persona = myself.
The two words are currently used as synonyms for an indeterminated (number of people, gender... nothing is specified) group of people.
DIFFERENCES:
- āgenteā works as a singular noun, whileĀ āpersoneā as a plural noun. Both are translated as people. Cāera molta gente al bar. |Ā Cāerano molte persone al bar. = There were many people at the bar. - persone can be used more specifically (adding a number, plural version of persona), while gente must be left indeterminated: Cāerano tre persone al bar = There were three people at the bar. Cāera (della) gente al bar = There were (some) people at the bar - gente is can be used to translate āguys, peopleā (informal), but persone cannot: Gente, ma avete sentito che notizia?? = Guys, have you heard what a news??
