you know what’s difficult? when someone uses a word that makes you uncomfortable, but you know you’d just look like a jerk if you mentioned it. for instance, the word “powwow”—I hate that word used casually. It just seems disrespectful. And it kind of hurts a little when someone who knows I’m mixed uses it around me, like... you know that word can be offensive, right?

I'm going to be working on a language sensitivity workshop for the youth group thing I volunteer at and I was wondering if you folks could send me links to AAVE words and their meanings, as well as any other words from different cultures, races, ect. That people who are outside of these should not be using, more importantly, words we need to take out white people mouths. Please and thank you!!
