I’m fucking bummed. These Bearded Iris beers have brought so much joy into my life that the feeling could only be described as losing your virginity or waking up on Christmas morning but now with this one, they’re gone. Saying that Bearded Iris is “great” is a huge fucking understatement kind of like saying Aaron Hernandez will be out for the 2018 season with a neck injury would be a huge understatement because these guys excel in basically everything they brew. I decided to end my journey through their lineup with Light Beam figuring that since I’m not huge on the style it would help make it easier to say goodbye but of course they had to make even this taste great so all I can really say now is DAMN YOU BEARDED IRIS! I don’t think I even cried this much after watching What Dreams May Come or Grave Of The Fireflies but I guess I’ll get over it eventually…one day… Anyways, this beer has a nice malty cracker like start to it with some floral hops and pineapple like flavors mixing in towards the middle before ending with those classic pilsner flavors along with more floral goodness. If you didn’t already know, it takes roughly 8 minutes for the sun’s light beams to reach the earth but it only took me 8 seconds to realize that this beer is good so basically I’m saying I’m better than the sun so take that mother nature! I just made you my little bitch! If this is your first of the style you are in luck because this is such a perfect beginner’s beer so make sure you pick this up along with your membership form for the Bastard Drinking Club. For the pros, snag a can and enjoy because this is everything you are looking for in the style. Whoop whoop!
