Backstory:  8 years ago, during Overwatch’s last few years, a mission brought their crusader Reinhardt Wilhelm through the grassy villages of Overijssel in The Netherlands. He gallantly fought and defeated a host of Talon agents almost single handedly, protecting a group of civilians otherwise caught in the crossfire. One of said civilians was Lance, at the time struggling with something of an early mid-life crisis, debating with himself on what to do with his life, when he had suddenly found himself divided from bullets only by a German giant in power armour.

In truth he’d been smitten with the man almost instantly, and after Lieutenant Wilhelm had given everyone a personal congratulation on remaining calm in the situation and escorted them back to their homes, Lance had already begun to fantasize about following in his footsteps, of living by knightly codes and striking down evil doers in the name of protecting the innocent.
