Exploring Bicol Part 2: Caramoan
We left Arman's at 7am and arrived at Sabang port at around 9:30. We waited for the boat for a while and left at around 10:00am. We arrived at Guijalo port where our service going to West Peninsula Villas was nowhere to be found. And we couldn't contact them because there was no network signal (both Smart and Globe).
We were starting to get burned by the noon sun so we just hailed a tricycle and went to the "hotel" on our own. The tricycle was Php150 pesos and the driver said it could fit a maximum of EIGHT people -- maximized talaga. There was also an environmental fee of Php30 which you will pay before entering the streets of Caramoan.
We arrived at West Peninsula Villas at around 12:30pm. Since they failed to pick us up, they said they'll just take care of our transportation to the port for our island hopping. We arranged our stuff and ordered lunch. Because the cooking time was long, it was already almost 3pm when we left for our 1st island hopping.
Here are Caramoan's islands in pictures:
What to do: Jumpshots + Swimming
What to do: Survivor shots on the rocks + Play in the smoothest/finest sand! (600 mesh? haha)
I just read today that there is a secret lagoon here which you'll see only after climbing up the island and that there's a lone milkfish living in the lagoon. Quite interesting but we weren't able to do this though since the boatman didn't mention it.
3. Cagbalinad/Hunongan Island
What to do: Hunongan (below) is a private island so we just stopped over on an island across it (Cagbalinad) to swim and take in the view.
None of us can remember the name of this weird beach! It had almost black sand with faint traces of white. The sand was so smooth that it already feels like mud.
What to do: Play in the mud sand.
The sun was gone when we went back to the port. We were tired and hungry but we were very much looking forward to the second set of islands the next day!
Our Caramoan Island Hopping Part 2 in my next post. :)
