IT’S BACK
i realize i have few followers and even fewer followers that would have noted my absence from tumblr, but here i am, after well over a year away. in that year i have left chicago, moved to los angeles, been library job-less for a year, had ~12 interviews (SIX of which are for the jobs i ended up getting), and can now proudly (idk if proudly is the right word...maybe exasperatedly?) say i am the (full-time) adult/teen librarian at the LA county library’s lawndale library branch as well as a (part-time) on-call librarian at beverly hills public library. i ended up taking the bhpl position because i’ve been engaged for over a year now and i’m not trying to be engaged forever. i’ve been there for about 3 weeks and i really like it. this is my first week with lacl and i’ve been training at various libraries, getting overloaded and overwhelmed with information, and i’m still adjusting (but v excited!). the biggest change with the lacl position is that i’ll be working with teens, a new, exciting, and anxiety-inducing situation for me. i figure (and hope) that tumblr can help with that, so you’ll be seeing more of me heeeeere!
