Being a hero was hard work. Being a hero whose first impulse is to murder something? That was plain stupid. In fact, just stupid enough to be the situation Cletus Kasady found himself in. After a lifetime of shrinks thinking he was incurable, all it took was a magic spell cast by none other than the magic man himself, Dr. Doom. Who would have thought?
Of course, magic fix-it-alls aren’t actually real. Cletus no longer felt the overwhelming urge to murder, and actually felt emotions, but he didn’t know what to do with them. His other wasn’t much help either. That was probably Cletus’ fault, though. Probably. He wasn’t going to hold it against them, at least. Because that’s what heroes do.
A sort of saving grace came in the form of new of a new spider themed hero on the scene. It seemed like the perfect situation. They were both new, so they could learn together, and he didn’t look like a spider, but his dad was part of the Spider-Dork squad, so it meant they’d be a themed duo, and people love themes.
It took a few days for the plan to actually come to fruition. There were a lot of missed connections until Carnage finally caught sight of his target, er, potential friend out on patrol. Wanting to make the perfect first impression, he followed just out of sight until the hero stopped on a rooftop to do whatever heroes do on rooftops.
“Man, you aren’t an easy bug to find!” He announced, dropping down in front of the other man, “I’ve been lookin’ all over for you!”
