Buildings are just buildings but it’s the stories of the people who inhabit them that make them come alive. Open as part of the @australianheritagefestival, @nationaltrustvic with some brilliant research/detective work from Vicki Shuttleworth have curated a rather fascinating exhibition recounting the lives of some of the women, from all walks of life, who made the Victorian mansion Labassa their home. Each room captures not only personal stories through the display of costumes, objects and scotch finger biscuits, but the waves of societal change that Melbourne has experienced over the last 150 years. Ci si inginocchia sulla terra come pioggia che s'infiltra nel deserto arido. Ci si inginocchia sul cielo come brezza che si nasconde fra le nuvole. Ci si inginocchia perfino in chiesa come se Dio non potesse ascoltarti anche fuori Ci si inginocchia troppo capovolgendosi come un ago nella sua stessa cruna. Si tenta di stare dritti in piedi ma come un nuotatore al largo si tiene la testa in alto e a malapena si riesce a respirare o siamo banderuole nel vento vibriamo come un diapason in una sinfonia di LA. Poi si scopre così, all'improvviso che l'uomo immortale buca il tempo restando immobile se fa un passo avanti viene preso per matto se ne fa uno indietro viene preso per codardo.
