Listening to my ex-coworker current kinda-friend tell me enthusiastically about how I should see this new art exhibit by a queer indigenous artist and resisting the urge to ask "so like what's your deal? sexuality wise?"

They should have like the equivalent of a graduation ceremony when you quit a job you've been doing for 2 or more years bc what do you mean I've been dedicating half my life to this for 3 years and then one Friday evening I just leave and never come back. I feel insane. At least give me some closure

Started university excited to be a woman in STEM now it's 5 years later and I'm only sort of a woman and I'm quitting the STEM field. Time does a number on us all

I have several Bad Astrophysicist™️ takes but probably the most frivolous one is that not being able to see stars in cities is fine, actually. Don't get me wrong, I fucking love the night sky, I think stars are beautiful, I've been to a dark sky reserve. But I only really actually care about light pollution insofar as it wastes energy and affects animal patterns (like bats and stuff)
