It wasnāt unusual for Shepard to act rude or harsh to the deadĀ or to the living, but for some reason it irked him the way he quickly dismissed the body laying before them. That person could have had a family or friends that cared about them, though, humanizing the enemy would have just made it harder to kill them. āā¦whatever you say, commander.ā, was all he managed to say.
Shepard recognized that tone: disapproval, irritation, disappointment. His trademark scowl deepened as he stepped over the body to continue on his way.Ā
"Just another fucking merc. Like there ain't enough of those bastards. Goddamn drain on society." Although Shepard was once a common thief himself, he possessed little tolerance for anyone who inconvenienced him. "You ask me, we're doing the galaxy a damn favor. So how about you quit looking at me like I'm the fuckin' devil? Don't make me regret choosing you over Chief Williams." In a way, he already did. Although he never particularly liked Ashley, he wondered if she would have treated him so poorly all those years ago on Horizon. He still resented Kaidan for that.
