she never could sleep on planes. always a light sleeper the hum of the plane kept her awake. she closed her eyes and listened to the narrator in her audiobooks - hoping sleep would come. when it inevitably didn't she found herself exiting the plane in a daze. luckily she has made this trip before. baby walked through the terminals, called a cab, and headed to the school. she had told johnny she wasn't going to make it to the showcase. she had a midterm the next day and it was going to be too tight a turnaround. they had been ahead of schedule though and baby's exam was done by friday morning. leaving her just enough time to make it.
baby thanked the driver, hitting the corner store to pick up dahlias. suitcase rolling behind her as she hits the lobby. she's in the front row before they give the pre-show speech. and she's the first to clap and stand when bows occur. she puts two fingers in her mouth to whistle, cheering on the dancers as they exit. when she finds johnny, baby all about jumped into his arms to hug him. " that was incredible ! " she gushed. " how does it feel ? "
