moonlight   shines.   the   two   of   them   outside,   in   the   direct   light  once   again.   they   sit   beside   each   other,   him   relaxed.    after   how   long   has   he   felt   this   way?   it’s   been   too  long.     she’s   a   wonder.   (   warrior.   hero.   )      the   tribes   wuold   honor   someone   like   that,   and  sokka   intends   to.   her   warmth   is   nothing   like   he’s   ever   seen   before.    (    he   thinks   of   his   youth.   huddled   by   the   fire,   the   harshest   of   the   winters.    the   times   furs   and   furs   were   never    enough.   he’s   never   felt   this   warm.   not   since  yue.   not   since   his   mother   )   but   suki?   she   radiates   warmth.  “ i  love   you   too   suki .  “   the   words   don’t   feel   heavy,   they   don’t   feel   lost.   they   feel   warm.     he’s   warm   around   her,   and   how   she   shines.    the   way   she  had   freed   them,   the   way    she   had   done   so  so   easily   ———   he’s   amazed.   sokka   doesn’t   want  to  try   cry,  but   he ,   he   can’t   stop   the   tearrs   frorm   flowing   as   he   stares   at   her.   alive.   she’s   alive.   azula   didn’t  kill   her.    he   can’t  ,   he   keeps   crying,   ugly   tears   that   make   him   feel   breathless    (     sokka   inhales,    relaxing.   this   isn’t   a   dream.   suki’s   here.   right   here.    )       “ i   was   so   scared   suki  —  so  scared   i’d   never   see   you   again.  ” 

   ❝     suki    --         ❞      the  first  word  is  easy,   it’s  the  ones  next  that  are  harder .  sokka  has  never  had  a  problem   chattering   away  when  it’s  meaningless  but  this,  it  meant  something  to  him  .     it  had  been  easier,  in  a  way,   during  the  war.  at  least  then  they’d  both  had  the  same  mission,   their  paths  intertwined.  now  he  wondered  if  they  were  set  to  diverge,  and  he  didn’t  know  if  he  was  ready  for  that  .       ❝    look  ,      i  was  wondering       ❞        so  many  things  .    what  was left  between  them,  what  she  wanted  to  do  next.   if  they  could  go  together  .   but  he’s  not  sure  how  to  string  all  those  fragile  wants  into  sentences  yet,  so  he  shrugs,     ❝   i   was  wondering   ...   if  you  wanted  to  sit  together,  at  this  coronation  .  it’s  probably  gonna  be  real  boring .  I mean I like the guy, but   zuko    hardly   has   a    sense    of   fun ❞ 

          𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞'𝐬  𝐚  𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞  𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭  𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐬  on  her  lips  whenever  she  see’s  the  kyoshi  leader  .   perhaps  it’s  the  fact  that  she’s  so  SIMILAR  to  her  friends :   a  non-bender  ,   a  leader  ,   powerful  ,   smart  .   azula  would  acknowledge  PRETTY  ,   too  -  but  she’s  far  too  petty  to  consciously  admit  to  it  .   she  wonders  what  their  potential  could  have  been  if  she  wasn’t  ozai’s  daughter  and  suki  wasn’t  ...  green  .    ‘  you’re  breathing  too  loud  .  ’   eyes  flicker  up  in  the  dark  to  the  girl  on  the  OTHER  side  of  her  cell  .   ‘  perhaps  a  mask  is  something  you  would  like  to  invest  in  instead  of  makeup  .  ’  

he  catches  up  with  her  in  a  few  strides,   arms  reaching  to  hug  her  from   behind  .   it   had  become  a  familiar  routine  now,  they’re  closeness ,  and  it  was  one  he  wasn’t  willing  to  give  up  any  time  soon  .       ❝   if   you   think   he’s  so  cute ,   why  don’t  you  kiss  him  ?     ❞     

A   whine   comes   from   the   girl   laying   on   the   wooden   floor   ,   arms   and   legs   sprawled   out   as   far   as   the   armoured   uniform   would   let   her.   She’s   quick   to   roll   over   onto   her   stomach   ,   elbows   propped   up   to   hold   her   face   between   her   hands.   ❝   Suki   ,   come   ooooon   ,   let’s   take   a   break.   Wasn’t   it   you   that   said   ;   you   can’t   become   a   kyoshi   warrior   overnight   ?   ❞   A   cheeky   grin   pulls   up   the   corner   of   her   lips   ,   proud   to   use   the   leader’s   words   against   her.   Ty   Lee   wasn’t   one   to   give   up   ,   but   her   mind   had   already   wandered.   Eyes   wide   and   brows   raised   as   she   hops   back   up   onto   her   feet   –   the   slightest   wince   giving   away   the   aches   of   her   body.   ❝   Plus   ,   we’re   in   the   town   with   the   cutest   fire   nation   boys.   Sokka   won’t   mind   if   you   look   but   don’t   touch.   ❞

𝙤𝙣𝙚    𝙬𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙜    𝙢𝙤𝙫𝙚,    𝙖𝙣𝙙    𝙮𝙤𝙪    𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙚    𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮    𝙡𝙤𝙨𝙩.    you    had    thought    this    map    would    help    you    in    the    correct    ways.    but    all    it    has    done    is    send    you    the    opposite    way    of    where    you’re    supposed    to    be.    you    can    tell    because    from    descriptions    from    other    people,    there    should    be    cherry    blossoms    all    around,    and    all    you    can    see    is    pine    trees    everywhere.     you    can’t    help    but    be   a    little    frustrated,    you    should    have    been    there    already.    people    are    waiting    for    the    two    of    you,    this    is    important,    and    this    is    really    screwing    with    you.    you’re    used    to    moving    on    appa    this    days.    and    you    barely    get    lost    with    appa    and    aang.    ❝  i    think    we...    we    are    very    lost.    maybe    we    should    start    looking    for    someone    to    point    us    to    the    right    direction    before    we    move    forward.  ❞
