Kyoji's surprised he hasn't awoken in a sweatier or messier state than he had. Perhaps it's a little messy to wake up in your day clothes though. Perhaps his external condition being fine is to offset how very not fine he feels inside. Everything hangs in a balance, he supposes, even on the days he feels that isn't very true.

He never has the full picture, so even if everything seems very unfair in one area, it must be very fair in another one. That's the order of things.

It's a mildly calming thought even as the weight of the bracelet against his wrist is so noticeable and won't go away. It's replaced his other watch, he supposes. He feels his other one in his jacket pocket, surmising it must've been moved.

The second the A.I. in his new wristwatch stops speaking, Kyoji rushes for the door, exiting his room. In his haste, he bumps into someone who seems to have still been lingering around in the dormitory hall — either that, or they took their time leaving their room after being granted their freedom.

He steps back, bowing his head before he even sees the other person's face, his voice high in its apology.
