Hi Tumblr!

A busy day today. I was so tired and was thinking maybe I’d just do 30 mins or something, but I wanted to see this through that I gave my all to stick with the 1 hour of code a day and I did! :D

I’m taking the course a bit more slowly so I can practice everything, while learning more. I know I can always go back to resources, but rushing through always makes me more stressed.

Anyway, I haven’t learned a whole lot more, so I decided to make another simple website. This time about one of my favorite bands :D

I’ve been getting back into their music, so thought I’d make something to entertain myself and practice.

I thought the embed for the Spotify was really cool! I can’t wait to learn CSS to start making the websites look more polished! I really like coding. It’s fun and I like seeing my ideas come to life.

Today I learned about relative paths, how to make a link open in a new tab, and that I can turn images into links! I turned the photo of him in the blue shirt into a link. I’ll work on the site some more, but I’m tired. Too tired to go back and remove how cringey I was as a kid fawning over them lol that’s what’s in blue. 

As defined by Oxford dictionary:

1. avoidance of the depletion of natural resources in order to maintain an ecological balance

2. the ability to be maintained at a certain rate or level

I’ve been doing a pretty bang up job with the first part of the definition. My recycling to garbage ratio is about 3:1. Every third week I throw out two bags of trash to every week when I recycle 3 large containers of cardboard, plastic, and aluminum.

I bring my reusable bags with me almost everywhere I go. I don’t use the big detergent, fabric softener, dryer sheets that you see everywhere. I converted to EarthBreeze and wool dryer balls months ago and never looked back. I use bar soap, shampoo, and conditioner to limit plastics in my house. I run my dishwasher once a week on the eco friendly cycle and use homemade soap instead of dish pods. I grow about 20% of my vegetables in an outdoor garden — wish I could do more. And I know I’m forgetting a ton of more eco-friendly things I do to help with sustainability.

It’s the second part of the definition that I struggle with in my life. I bounce all over the place with emotions, goals, and overall lack of health initiatives.

Why is it that I can only follow one of the two definitions of the same word? My dedication to living an environmentally friendly life should expand to making sure that my body and the life I live within my environmentally friendly life could be as full and complete as possible.

This is something I struggle with. And something that I strive to be better with. The next 100 days I will do just that — strive to live the second part of the sustainability definition for my body.
