she doesn't understand what was happening. the world seem to be spinning and penelope could feel herself sinking into the darkness. a warm feeling is wrapping itself around her, enveloping her as her surroundings began to fade away. her eyes are drooping and are about to shut, but she hears a voice calling out to her. suddenly, a blurry face is in front of her and the person sounds devastated. she wants to reassure them that she’ll be okay. the voice is all too familiar, but her brain isn't functioning correctly. slowly, her hand reaches out to theirs as she gives them a small smile, not noticing the blood seeping from her to create a small pool beneath her body. “i’m sorry, i can’t stay any longer. don’t be sad, okay?” the words are a whisper as her eyes finally close, her body feeling as if it was dropping into the abyss. the sirens are ringing in the back, but it’s too late to save her now.
