Everything wrong with kpop industry
Yes, I’m aware that this tumblr acc is dedicated to fanfiction but this is a very serious issue so I feel like I have to address this here.

I guess y’all know what’s coming. First of all, I want to clarify that I’m 200% on Mina’s side, however I won’t tolerate harmful comments towards Shin Jimin (harmful as in telling her to go k*ll herself or similar stuff).
Kwon Mina, ex-member of the girl group AOA, suffered from bullying for 10+ years. Her bully was another member of her own group, Shin Jimin. This information was published by Mina in her own instagram account (@ kvwowv) along with a picture of (already healed) scars on her wrists. In the following posts she talked about how the agency didn’t do anything to handle the bullying situation and how she ended up leaving because she couldn’t stand it anymore. Mina even talked about how Shin Jimin mistreated her during one of her hardest moments, her father’s death. On the other side, Jimin was treated like royalty when her own father got sick and finally passed away, being able to take a rest from the group’s activities, a consideration that Mina didn’t receive back in the day.
The company (FNC ENTERTAINMENT) didn’t handle the situation well, and even though the rest of AOA (including Jimin) visited her and apologised, Mina said that it wasn’t an honest apology. She only needed Jimin to acknowledge the harm she had done to her and apologise for making her feel miserable all this time, which she didn’t do. Jimin only said that she didn’t remember any of those things and excused herself. Mina was super upset about that and uploaded a post to her instagram account, once again exposing the whole situation.
Even though Mina’s the victim here, and despite all the love and support she has received from her fans via Instagram, many haters (and/or Jimin supporters) tagged her and left hateful comments towards her, saying things such as she shouldn’t talk about those issues since they were “personal” or complaining about the very explicit photos of her scars and cuts that she had uploaded.
A few days ago, she posted again, talking about how FNC is planning on waiting until this issue is forgotten to bring Jimin back and continue with AOA’s activities. Of course, Mina was mad about the fact that nobody had taken her exposure seriously and talked about how unfair it was that Jimin could sleep well while she had insomnia and needed to take sleeping pills in order to sleep a few hours.
Today, Mina shared a VERY EXPLICIT post, of her sliced wrists, saying that she hopes Jimin and FNC staff and PD are happy and living well, and asking them not to come to her funeral because it would be disgusting. I’m personally very concerned about this post and hope and pray for Mina to be alright.
This needs to stop, Korea needs to take mental health seriously because IT IS A SERIOUS MATTER. Mina is begging for help and nobody’s helping her. She keeps getting taken to hospital to heal her cuts but no one’s taking her to a psychologist to heal her soul’s pain. Mental health is as important (maybe even more) as physical health.
