the amazing Sharkpact with Kurly Something and the return of Feldspar. flyer by me.
Kurly Something - Deathtrip
My fave Kurly song and the one where the big alien things come out and dance with the crowd. Probably one of the best live experiences I've ever had at a show.
Kurly Something @ The Sunset Tavern - "Signal War"
I've been thinking lately about how goddamned inspiring these guys are. Talk about a really stand-out unique experience. What is a Kurl? What is kurling? What the fuck do those symbols mean? Who are the weird alien girls with the paper mache heads? WHAT IS GOING THE FUCK ON?! I LOVE THESE GUYS.
SUCH a huge inspiration for doing something that goes beyond set up, play a great set, and tear down. Beyond the band experience.

Kurly Something - Night of the Living Kurls
Can we just take a moment to appreciate how BADASS this track is?
Kurly Something is the Seattle band that, for me, kind of represents how brilliant and weird and theatrical this area tends to be.
It's not just a band. It's a band with posters and signs that have weird alien writing on them. What does it say? I HAVE NO IDEA.
It's not just an art-rock gig. It's a gig where big alienmonsters show up and walk around and dance with you halfway through. Why? I HAVE NO IDEA.
And I love them for it.
