The first night that Youichi shared this bed, back when he was still called Kuramochi, was the night they confessed their feelings to each other. They fell asleep in each other’s arms and awoke just the same as if no time had passed. They traded jabs about bedhead and bad sleep habits as if nothing between them had changed. They shared an awkward, gentle kiss as if to say We’re still us, but we’re also something different.
