The living godness Kumari. Indra Jatra, also known as Yenga, is the largest street festival in Nepal. It takes place in Nepali Bhadra month (August to September in Solar Calendar) and lasts for eight days. Following Gai Jatra, Ropai Jatra, Indra Jatra festival is celebrated by Nepalese to pray to Indra and Dagini for a good harvest and commemorate the deceased in the past year. On the last day, the flagpole erected at Kathmandu Durbar Square will be burned down, which signifies the end of Indra Jatra festival. Smile while you have teeth! It is one of the favorite sayings of a friend of mine with a fantastic smile. This man suddenly breaks off from the festival parade, and walks over to me, thanking for attending this important nepalese festival. Then he urges me to take his portrait, and suddenly he is off again The nepalese are very friendly and polite, and really proud to show their long running history and magnificent culture. And at the same time very modern in their approach, liking photos, selfies and smartphones with some very advanced local developed apps. I like countries and people like this. There are, thankfully, several of them. And I really look forward to travel again when this plague is over. Stay safe. Stay smiling. Stay optimistic. . .#friendly #wai #greetng #kumarijatra #tower #chariot #streetphoto #festival #hinduism #buddhism #2015 #yenya (ved Kathmandu, Nepal) https://www.instagram.com/p/CGK2dXXJNQP/?igshid=1ofb93uekro2z
