a commonly-held but mistaken belief is that kuhli loaches are arboreal. more specifically, it is a belief held by the kuhli loaches.

Caresheet: Kuhli loach | Pangio kuhlii
What’s noodly, wiggly and fun to keep in your aquarium? Kuhli loaches! One of my favorite fish species, these are perfect for peaceful communities with a sandy substrate.

Hey bettablr/fishblr
Anyone have any recommendations for places to order driftwood and different plants or deco for betta tanks. My LFS only has those cheap plastic plants that I’m sure are too rough for my betta.
My 10 gal has two mollies, a kuhli, and a mystery snail. I’d like to put more decorations in it. Would those cheap plastic plants be okay for those fish? Or should I just avoid them altogether?
I have a few glass bottles I’ve considered putting in the betta tank but how do I know if they’ll be safe?? The one held wrapped candy for a bit and has been used maybe twice as a drinking glass?? How could I clean it to make t betta safe???
The more cover available, the more you'll see the more cryptic fish you keep. I added more plants a few weeks ago and rearranged a piece of driftwood that is covered in Java fern, creating a very well shaded area in my tank (improving upon what was already shady) and I see these guys daily instead of every so often. Kuhli loaches (Pangio kuhlii) are best kept in groups and tend to be between 3-5 inches. They do like to bury themselves and root around the substrate, so sand really is the best substrate for them. I really enjoy seeing them and have been absolutely delighted to see them so much more after such a simple change.
