random non-kink music blog post: i've been in a ragga jungle/raggacore phase for the last couple months and i love it so much you all don't even know.
reggae (like regular peter tosh/lee "scratch" perry/toots and the maytals kind of reggae) came from ska, not the other way around. i once heard that a reggae drum beat should be able to be played with one hand, so you can have a joint or drink in the other. ragga jungle throws that all out the window, because it's all about fast frantic drum breaks, but the melody is still at reggae speed (sometimes a little faster than normal, but never ska-fast). there's just something about that combo that i love.
I've also found a new appreciation for General Levy. it sounds like a bunch of silly nonsense, but he's good at it, lol. listen to this:
