Rabbit ears because of the Japanese legend of the rabbit on the moon (which stems from the pattern of craters and dark patches visible). Rabbits can represent generosity but also sacrifice, as well as evil. Cloak clip's a moon with a broken heart, same as the design on the joiny bit for the scythe. Angel wing on the scythe bc avenging angel/fallen angel vibes. She's patting Tilly with her left hand, Tilly's ears are just visible. The line looping around the scythe is her soul connection to Scott. I love stupid tiny details I'm aware the choice of a scythe for Pearl is a fandom wide thing, but for me personally I see it as her feeling like her soul's already been ripped away, so now she seeks to rend the souls from those around her, and make them pay for her suffering.

The 7th of September marks the day the last thylacine (also known as a Tasmanian Tiger), Benjamin, died. It exists to raise awareness for our species that are under threat, so we can protect them from meeting the same fate as the thylacines. This is specific to Australia. Depicted in detail is a numbat. In silhouette form are a sugar glider, western ring-tailed possum (not to be confused with American opossums), a koala and her joey, purple-capped fairy-wren and gouldian finch.

The movie was pretty cool, I love some of the character designs. Watched the movie first before reading the books because I heard it wasn't the most faithful adaptation, and I didn't want that to detract from my enjoyment of it. I'm almost finished the first book now and it is excellent. Going between crying over depictions of generational trauma caused by war and laughing at silly lines is one heck of a rollercoaster ngl.
