@ofvoidx asked: â what are you smiling at? â / from diana to clark
He hadn't realized he had been smiling, pulled from memories that had always brought him comfort. As a matter of fact he'd been so sure he'd managed to keep a neutral expression. Could he bullshit his way through this and say that smiling was his neutral expression? But that wasn't what she'd asked, gaze turning back to the planet below.
"Thinking about that one time I found a skunk and thought it was just a really smelly cat.'
Not his fault, he'd been five. Even at that tender age his sense of smell had been keen. The stinky smell was just interesting, sharp, making his nose itch. But it'd also reacted just like the barn cat that didn't like him so he hadn't been surprised that its tail had been puffy. Martha had been less than pleased to find a BEAMING Clark standing in her kitchen "gently" holding a skunk that was clearly possessed by Satan itself.
"I thought he'd make a good boyfriend for Scratch, the barn cat we had that also hated me.' It had taken months to clear that smell out of the house. "If they were happy together they might be happy with me. ... I was five, the only male and female I knew were my parents who loved each other, and loved me. It made sense.'
