The large Dragon had been injured the last time a bunch of humans had come to visit him, they'd attacked him, tried to kill him and he'd only barely got out of there alive.

He's not sure how long it's been since then, passing in and out of consciousness as a kind stranger's been tending to his wounds, he finds them sleeping next to him and allows his body to give them warmth as they rest in return for looking after him.
