Kara finds the puppy in a box near a warehouse. It’s been abandoned and is the last of its litter. It was born with three legs and Kara finds him one night as she’s doing a routine scan of the city.
Lena would say she’s shocked when Kara comes home early, a small puppy and bags of supplies but honestly she is not she’s surprised it took this long to happen.
(The entire nation is captivated by footage of Supergirl arriving at a local petsmart with the puppy and asking the workers for advice and what dog food to get)
They name the dog Cornelius bc it’s the closest to a food related name that Lena would allow.
Lena would get super frustrated at first bc she’s not used to having living creatures rely on her for survival. So like this little pupper follows her around and yaps and she’s like ???? Quiet pls I have to work
She gets mad bc the puppy eats two pairs of her best shoes and pees everywhere and barks all the time.
She almost loses her shit when she sees Kara giving Cornelius a stern pep talk about picking up his act and pls don’t eat any more of lena’s shoes she’ll get smad at us both.
Lena 3D printing a lil prosthetic for Cornelius for when he wants to run as fast as his friends at the park.
