#kruna

yet she was more of a silent and invisible guardian angel. death wasn’t really after him and nothing had caused her to scream in a while. constantly jumping from place to place meant that she didn’t have to stay long enough somewhere for someone to die. brad was safe for now, which meant that she had to travel elsewhere. the longer she was going to be in the woods across from his home, the more chance death was going to smell her. she was a curse to people and she didn’t want anything to happen to him.

something had stopped her from moving quickly, from being engulfed in a puff of smoke before her red eyes appeared somewhere else. a loud, piercing scream crawled from the pit of her stomach, through her throat, and then out her mouth. it was even louder than the first one she produced when ryder was killed. thankfully she was far from brad’s house by now, but she was still close enough that some of his windows began to crack. the smoke surrounding her took her to the source of her pain, her powers being a magnet for death. she almost hoped that it didn’t.

when kruna materialized again, she saw it. mayar was bleeding out in front of her own eyes and rolin was weeping over his soon to be corpse. “no!” she screamed loud enough that as she ran towards them, rolin seemed to suffer some necrotic damage. her grief was turning into anger again. her skin growing a deeper shade of purple, her eyes glowing a darker red. this couldn’t be happening to her, not again. “mayar!” her screams turned into mournful cries as she threw herself onto the ground next to them. her hand pressed up against the elf’s chest, trying to stop what was coming. 

the thing was that she couldn’t stop death. with all of her powers, resurrection was powerful magic that she didn’t have access to. at least not as a banshee. “not you too.” her claws dug into the ground, not wanting to hurt the only family that she had left. when mayar’s eyes were empty, when it was official and she felt death take over his body, she was angry again. the anger seeping through her bones took place where the grief she couldn’t face should have been. carnal eyes looked up at the man that was in charge of caring for her brother, of protecting him. 

she lunged at him. grabbing the moon elf by the neck and rising up from the ground until they were about thirty feet in the air, kruna shoved him up against the tree and her claws dug into his warm, sensitive skin. “you did this! you let him die.” another scream pierced out from her body and the man’s ears started to bleed. “YOU TOOK HIM FROM ME TO PROTECT HIM AND YOU FAILED!” her voice was growing darker. there was no evidence of the elf she once was, the heir to the throne, as rolin trembled in fear against her. 

the banshee could feel it. she was taking his life away slowly. just when she was on the brink of finishing the job, she heard a familiar voice around her. “kruna, stop! he didn’t do anything.” mayar. there was no other person the voice could belong to. this was her brother’s spirit. hesitantly, the woman lowered both of them down and let the elf fall to the ground. he was no longer the source of her anger. “how could you die? how dare you?!” she lunged at her brother, but he was just a spirit now. 

“please, i don’t have that much time. please, just listen.“ mayar had already changed. yet even as a spirit he seemed to have more life than kruna at the moment, there was a lightness in him that was opposite to her darkness. even though she wasn’t fully calm, she was still angry, she nodded and remained still to listen. “there’s something you don’t know about ryder’s story. this is complicated, but time doesn’t move the same for spirits. go back. go into your memories, but as yourself. you’re mad at the wrong people. please sister, let me help you.“
