In spite of the fact that I absolutely don’t believe that forgiving your abuser is a necessary step in the process of healing from your trauma and I didn’t like the way Baker Boys treated mental illness in general, I still loved this series.  I think the message they were trying to convey, mostly, was that, when you have people around you that love you, you can move on and still live a happy, fullfilling life.  Did the series overall make sense? Not at all. Honestly, I don’t even know how to describe it.  But you can tell that all of them had fun while working on it. And the found family dynamic is so well done, I can forgive them other stuff.  Krating has the confidence of pursuing his dream because he knows there are people who’ll wait for him and welcome him back with open arms. Pooh is finally confident in the love he has from his friends, his daughter and the mother of his kid and can look people in the eye without being afraid. Weir and Punn found each other again and can support each other from now on. Family is about the work you put into your relationship with others, it’s commitment and acceptance. And romantic love isn’t the be all end all of relationships. So, yeah, it wasn’t perfect in any sense of the word, but I’m still gonna miss them.
