The song has ended after a few more minutes and the crowd clapped again, which I joined this time because I was so intrigued and impressed at this lady's performance. She gently bowed to us and released a very small smile.

I turned my head back at my drink and continued to drink it until it was nothing left. With my stamina still cursing very alive in my body, ready to take much more alcohol; I ordered another one to the bartender.

I picked up my wallet from my pocket and about to pull some coins and bills inside of it when suddenly my clumsy ass self unintentionally dropped it.

The coin then rolled to left and when I was about to catch it, my hand stopped mid air as the coin finally stopped rolling because it bumped onto something: somebody's wrist.

I slowly looked up and in my shock, it was the lady who was performing earlier at the stage. She picks up the coin beside her wrist.

Mina: "Oh. I believe this is yours.", she said. She lend me back my coin.

YN: "Yeah, thanks.", I answered. I placed the coin on top of the bill and finally gave it to the bartender which he also gave me my another glass of margarita.

Mina: "One mojito, give it some lime too please.", the lady said beside me. The bartender followed and prepared her order. I looked to her and mustered up the courage to talk to her because she is the only person in this bar right now who is familiar to me.

YN "You were the one on the stage, right?"

Mina: "I am."

YN: "You sang really well."

Mina: "T-Thanks.", she said and gave me a smile which I returned back because I couldn't just ignored at how cute she looked when she did that. It made me unable to resist it.

Since she's now very close to me, I can see her clearly even more. She's definitely beautiful. Her white dress perfectly hugs her curvy body and blends up very well to her unearthly beauty. Her long black curvy hair that is hanging steadily behind her back. Those moles that forms like a pattern around her nose and lips contributes more to her looks.

Not to mention her voice, it's just a pure melody. Even though she isn't singing anymore, it's still music to my ears. Her soft, majestic and pleasant soft pitched vocal was another thing that was given to her as a gift from the gods.

YN: "I'm YN, by the way.", I said and gave her my hand for a handshake. I noticed that she stared at it for a second before she slowly accepted it. Not gonna lie it felt awkward and embarassing in my part. Can't blame her, what I did was too sudden.

Mina: "Mina.", she reveals her name.

YN: "Nice to meet you, Mina.", I smiled. I started to take a sip at my second round of margarita. "Thanks also to your soothing voice by the way, it somehow made myself calm."

Mina: "No problem, I guess.", she shrugged and chuckled softly.

YN: "How long have you been singing in this bar?"

Mina: "I just sang here first time.", that made me let out an "oh?". "The owner who's my friend said she was offering any customer who's willing to perform in the stage today, and I accepted.", she paused for a second when the bartender gave the mojito with lime to her. "Just felt wanting to sing, you know."

YN: "Well, that's great. You do have such a great voice. Perfect enough to be a singer."

Mina: "I dream of becoming one but I gave it up one day. But, do you see me as that really?

YN: "Yeah. For sure everyone could acknowledge the same as mine too.", I nodded. Mina smiled sheepishly.

Mina: "What brings you here?", she took her first sip at her drink.

YN: "Something terrible.", I sighed and shook my head as I recall again my most hated moment so far in my life.

Mina: "Care to share?", she looked at me worriedly.

YN: "Heartbreak.", my face is now defining what a bittersweet feeling means. "My GF just left me a while ago. Came here to wind down myself."

Mina: "Is that so? We do have a common then.", I looked at her curiously. "I went here with an exact experience, but I was the one who did it.", she chuckled. I can audibly hear the cracks on her voice. Probably she also feels hurt right now.

I didn't expect that she is also suffering from a heartbreak the same as mine tonight What I saw from her a while ago at the stage she definitely looks like she's all okay.

YN: "Why?", now the tables have turned and it's my part to be curious and worry about her.

Mina: "Just found out that he never was sincere to me the whole time. He was using me only because of my wealth.", her lips started to bent downwards as a frown has started emerging. Her head slightly turned down as she looked at her glass while playing it with her fingernails.

YN: "That sucks.", I clicked my tongue three times. "Imagine never having any idea that you were only in a one sided relationship since the beginning.", I sighed heavily because even me can't even dodge my own hurtful facts.

Mina: "Yeah, you're helping YN.", she scoffed and rolled her eyes as she playfully slapped my thigh which made me wheeze. " I can feel my tears coming out.", she acted like she's mad at me for doing that but what she said is legit when I observed her eyes starting to blink faster.

She looks like she is definitely fighting and holding on her tears because I guess she doesn't want to make her look embarassing in front of a stranger.

YN: "Oh, sorry. But... I guess, it's fine to let it out? It'll only get worse if you'll gonna contain it to yourself.", I said to her seriously. Without any other further a do, she listened and a single diamond teardrop flowed out from her eyes.

It was followed by some other more until it makes her use her handkerchief and wipe it all off by herself. All I can say about what she's been going through right now must be so hard for her, and I understand her because just like me... she lost someone she adored the most out of anyone.

YN: "Mind if I touch you for comfort?", i offered her some symphathetic gesture so that she can feel that she's definitely not alone fighting this bad time she's having tonight.

Gladly, she accepts without speaking any answer. A simple nod is enough for me to pick it up very quickly so what I did is I pulled my chair closer to her and patted her back gently.

I feel quite shy because her exposed skin in her back feels very soft and smooth which makes my cheeks starting to get beet red slowly.

YN: "I feel you too, Mina. We don't have any other choice but to found someone that we definitely deserve to have. Someone who are truly committed to love us back too and will stay no matter what happens.", I shared my comforting message to her while sobbing beside me.

She raised her head and wiped out the remaining teardrop on her face. As she moves it out, she reveals to me her reddened eyes as a result of her crying. She furrowed her eyebrows a bit before seperating them back again as she looked at me intently.

Mina: "You're selfish.", she said and what she did after made me stunned.

She placed her handkerchief on my face and wiped out my own released tears away which I didn't know at all that I started silently crying too while comforting her. That's another proof that we both really are relate to each other's troubles tonight.

YN: "I know.", I smiled and smiled shyly.

Mina: "Cmon, I won't allow that you're the only one who's gonna make our mood lighter tonight.", she then grabbed her wineglass of mojito and raise it as she directed it near at me. "Shall we change topic?"

YN: "Be the first.", I know what she was trying to do so I grabbed mine and bumped it onto hers; creating a cheers for one another.

We started to talk together about some random topics through random stuff until we return back once again to our what our own lovers did to us.

I can definitely feel that I was not in control of myself any more as I became drunk now of too much margaritas I toom when I started rambling and trashing my ex about what she did to me even though a while ago, I've been releasing my anger at myself only.

Mina also started doing the same because the alcohol is kinda kicking in to her too but she was less aggressive than me.

Until it got boring and I finally lost my energy to keep up, the final thing I did for tonight was to lay my head on the bar stool and close my eyes which never happened as I fell in slumber.

-MINA'S POV-

Mina: "He got drunk. Not surprised, he was drink earlier than me.", I said after I finally finished my 5th glass of mojito. There was still some little left in his glass but I decided to just pay for it when the bartender told me that he isn't paying for it yet.

I feel like going home already so I stood up but seeing once again this guy named YN who I had a chat with for tonight definitely blended some little fun on my worst night so far.

We don't know each other so much but I can pretty tell that while we are talking, I am enjoying the same as him after we decided to change the topic and set aside our problems for once.

"He can't go home alone being like this.", I said to myself as I take a look once again at YN who is sleeping deeply. His side facial structures got me and awe at how his jawline was constructed perfectly. He looks so peaceful too as his cheeks puffing up and down with every breath he takes and release.

Setting aside his looks, I got a bit shocked at myself for acting like this. I placed myself in a tiny argument with myself about how I do care about a guy despite of what happened to me which I got fooled by the man I loved truly.

I should feel doubt and untrusted at every men around me right? I should be... you know, scared and terrified that history might repeat again.

But I don't know... there's something through him that makes me tell that he is... natural at what he does. Especially what I heard from him a while ago at his outbursts.

"I DID EVERYTHING FOR HER! AND WHAT DO I GET, I GOT SPIT ON. I GOT DISRESPECTED IN THE END."

"YEAH I KNOW I WASN'T ENOUGH AT ALL BUT CAN SHE JUST ACKNOWLEDGE THAT MY LOVE FOR HER WAS TRUE?"

"How could she do this to me. I put her on top, on my priorities. I did all my best to make her know that but I guess after all this time, I was just like a ghost to her that's why she doesn't notice."

"Or maybe she's blind whenever she's with me? Cause, yeah... how could I get her attention when she wasn't interested in me at all?"

Remembering what he said to me made me feel bad for him more. Shame to that woman, YN seems to be such a great guy and a lover to him but he ended up being poorly treated.

I finally decided what I'm going to do after I summed it all up my thoughts about him.

"Aish, fine. I can't believe I'm gonna do this for a newly met guy who's drunk." This is a first.", I mumbled to myself. I called the guards after to assist me picking up YN onto my car.

Mina: "I want to ask your address but I don't want to disturb his sleep either. Damn it, you better be grateful for this YN.", I said to him as if he's even listening to me. I started driving-which I believe I can still manage on my own well since I'm only sober unlike him.

I arrived at my mansion which my parents gave to me after I decided to live seperately from them. Actually, I never wanted to receive a place something big like this.

A spot in a condo or apartment was enough for me because I ain't picky anyways, but I just let my parents to decide.

-YOUR POV-

I slowly opened my eyes and blinked it few more times to regain my vision. As I successfully did it, I observed that I am in an unfamiliar room where I was lyinh in a bed that wasn't mine at all... comfortably.

I slowly raised my body and looked around at such a nicely designed room. I wanted to rotate my head more but the effects of the hangover I had yesterday night was starting to get onto me once again as I feel dizzy.

So I just left myself all confused wondering where the hell am I.

I stood up slowly from the bed and went through this long small wooden cabinet. I noticed a paper that is nicely folded up which has writings on it. I opened it and read its contents.

"If you're now awake and reading this, go downstairs and eat your breakfast. - Mina"

I was just shocked that I even bothered Mina to take home my drunk ass self. I felt embarassed very much so I quickly went outside and go downstairs as I explore the areas of the house more.

As I finally landed to the living room I suppose, I saw Mina immediately watching TV while eating a donut. She felt my sudden presence distance from her so she rotated her head through me.

Mina: "Good morning YN, you're awake."

YN: Good morning to you too. Uhh why am I here in your...", I was scratching my nape while talking until Mina cuts me off.

Mina: "Well you're drunk yesterday and fell asleep. I just don't want to be rude by interrupting your peaceful sleep so since I don't know your place is, I have no choice but to take you here instead.", she explained.

YN: "Oh... thank you so much Mina. I did gave you hard time to assist me, I guess. I'm sorry.", I looked away from her in embarassment. God, I surely feel like a burden to her already and we just freaking met yesterday."

Mina: "A little, but it's fine YN. It was just a repay for what you've done to me yesterday.", she smiled to me and I was touched. It surely feel so good when someone appreciates the good things you do for them willingly.

"Take your breakfast and drink the medicine under the glass of water there on the table. To reduce the hangover effects.", she pointed at the table which has some plates filled with rice, bacon and eggs on it. There was also a medicine beside a glass of water that she's also talking about.

I followed right afterwards so I responded to her with a nod and mouthed another "thank you" to her.

After I finally finished my breakfast, I wore again my clothes from yesterday as I prepare myself to leave Mina's place because I don't want to disturb her anymore and I feel enough shame already for this woman.

YN: "I should leave now, Mina. What you did for me is already enough."

Mina: "Sure. My driver will escort you then. Take care okay?", she said to me and her own car being driven by her driver just stopped in front of me.

YN: "I will. Bye, Mina. It's really nice meeting you, really.", I looked back to her again.

Mina: "Same as I, YN. I'm glad I met someone whom I can relate into when I was in my bad time.", she smiled again.

YN: "Uhm can I request something?", I caressed my arm as I was looking at her while tilting my head. Mina just hummed as a way to ask me why.

"I know after what happened to you, your trust when it comes to men became lower or I guess.. disappeared but please don't take this differently. C-can I take your number?", my stutter finally being audible to her which I felt even more nervous.

"I just wanna you know... ask you if we can be friends? I just found you a nice person to get along with.", I finally finished my words to her and then I breathed heavily as I patiently wait for her answer.

But all I just received to her was radio silence. She was just staring at me with eyes wide open as if she's giving me a death stare already for doing that especially by recalling her own problem while her mouth is slightly opened.

I guess she can't believe that I just ruined her morning in a snap of a finger.

YN: "I-I'm sorry. I know it's a wrong timing to do this. I shouldn't ha-", I quickly apologized to her and was about to enter the car quickly so that this nice driver with me can take me away already from Mina who seems to be ready enough to kill me for what I did.

But I was stopped in my tracks when she finally spoke behind me... and just slapped all my negative thoughts away in my head when she answered me the opposite.

Mina: "No, YN. I can be your friend too. Sorry if I became silent for a sec it's just that... I didn't expected it.", I was kinda right though but she didn't took it hevaily like what my thoughts has been noticing on her.

YN: "Yeah I know it's too sudden and it's a shame for me, really. But, hey. Thank you for accepting it, Mina.", I grinned at her, expressing my gratefulness to be lucky enough that I found a new friend. She only nodded at smiled back at me.

YN: "I better get going now. If you have any problem again, I'm just one call away okay? ."

Mina: "I- I'll t-take note of that.", she stuttered and gulped after which I wondered why.

I finally entered the car and the driver transported us back to my home as I instructed him the directions.

MEANWHILE (3RD PERSON POV) After YN and her driver left her mansion, Mina kept her smile all over her face as she liked the impression YN gave on her so far

-2 WEEKS LATER-

A party was being held tonight in our hospital's rooftop as a commemoration for my workplace's 50th anniversary of it's foundation.

I am currently working as an assistant nurse for Dr. Akira Myoui, who is a great man and a talented doctor. In my whole career being all by his side during our work, i t was just a rare moment for me to see him failing to save someone's lives. That's why I look up to him very much and I wanted to be like him in the future.

My respect for him is just at it's highest peak as he always praise me more on my performance than on his own. He also gives me advices about my overthinking through some parts that I do.

While I was talking to my two fellow nurses, our attention was set on the stage as Dr. Myoui was standing there with the mic on his hand.

Mr. Myoui: "Hello, greetings and good evening to everyone who's here tonight for the celebration our beloved hospital's foundation day.", we all clapped after. "I just wanna say thank you for coming here and I hope everyone will do have a great time, as you all can treat this as a reward for your hardwork on doing your best at being the lifesavers and caretakers for people who's health is in danger.", we al smiled proudly to ourselves as we felt really touched at Dr. Myoui's heartfelt praise to his employees.

"Before we continue having fun, I want to introduce to all of you first the person who decided to join us for tonight...", our curiousity arises after he announced that we're gonna have a special guest for tonight's event.

...It's none other than my daughter: Myoui Mina, ladies and gentlemen.",

Everyone clapped as I just stared in shock at Mina who just entered to the door looking elegant as ever as she came up to the stage to greet his father and hugged him.

She told me 2 weeks ago that she was currently studying hard because she taking a licensure exam these days to become a licensed doctor one day.

Knowing that my job which is being a nurse, I offered her a help on reviewing as she prepared for her exam.

I admit that I kinda struggled helping her because sometimes she would just break down out of nowhere whenever she uses her phone. I took a move to found out what's the reason and there my anger increased at his stupid boyfriend who just used her for his own good.

Since her problem was kinda affecting her preparation for the exams, I did my best to distract her to it, and all these two weeks I just spend my entire time after my duty to have some fun with Mina. Sometimes she also allows her two other friends who are also Japanese like her.

We met and had to get to know each other one day and they revealed their names as Minatozaki Sana and Hirai Momo from Osaka and Kyoto, Japan respectively.

Back to my current situation, yeah it really made my mind blown that Mina was the daughter of my boss and the doctor I'm assisting and looking up onto everyday.

After the introduction, Mina went down to the stage along with her father and went to their table spot. She left him alone for a while as she heads onto the food section where she started to took some amounts of different food on her plate.

I decided to take it as a key to talk with her so I quickly walk towards her and went beside her.

YN: "I never thought that a friend that I just met would be the daughter of my boss all along.", I said as I took some food of my own while not looking at her. In my peripheral vision, I can see Mina's surprised look as she looked at me.

Mina: "Y-YN? Wait, you're working here?"

YN: "HAHAHAHAHA yeah.", I burst into laughter due to how hilarious Mina's surprised reaction is.

Mina: "Really? I kinda called it tho but my guess of you working to another place still got the most in my mind.", she playfully slapped me on my shoulder.

YN: "So... you are a Myoui and technically you are my boss too. What should I call you now? Ms. Mina? Ms. Myoui? Bo-", I started to count it off on my fingers as I'm enumerating it but Mina interrupted me.

Mina: "Enough of it, Mina is fine. Just don't let the business affect our relations as a friend plus, my dad is still in full control of the hospital anyways.", she said as she swiped it off.

YN: "Oh okay. Sure, Mina.", I gave a sing song tone on pronouncing her name to tease her which she only rolled her eyes and smirked.

Mina: "Come on, get yours now and follow me.", I complied and we took our foods quickly and followed Mina from behind but along our way, we met her dad and my boss, Dr. Akira who looked at both of us.

Mina: "Hi Dad."

Mr. Myoui: "Mina. Oh, YN?", he both raised his eyebrows in surprise.

YN: "Hi sir.", I shyly smiled.

Mina: "I haven't got to tell you about this but we and YN are friends actually, dad. I've known her for weeks ago after we met somewhere and... I didn't know that he was working here in your hospital.", she said, making her father responded with an "oh" which seems that it made him understood quickly what her daughter explained to him.

I quietly wheezed when Mina hid the exact place we first met and just replaced it with a less specific one. I guess that'll make his father become suspicious of us.

YN: "I didn't know too that she's your daughter, Dr. Myoui.", I pointed to Mina.

Mr. Myoui: "Well, we're living in a small world that's why. Anyways, I'm glad you two are close already. Mina, this could be a great help for sure to be more comfortable in our business once you stepped into the place and take my place one day.", he said and Mina smiled at her father. " I trust YN, he's a great employee and a nurse."

YN: "Thank you sir.", I bowed to him while keeping my smile of appreciation for him.

Mina: "We're gonna head onto our seat now, dad."

Mr. Myoui: "Sure, sure. Have fun you two.", he both patted our shoulders as we gave him a way to walk through.

We found a seat good enough for us two to sit and talk with each other. After we're done eating, we decided to walk around the rooftop and just stare at the dark sky with a bunch of shining stars flicking all above us here.

While we are in complete silence as we admire the atmosphere tonight, there's somebody who already ruined our mood... especially mine as we heard some employees talking about me being close to Mina.

Employee 1: "Hey look, are we seeing this clearly?"

Employee #2 : "Yeah, YN is with Ms. Mina? Do they know each other well?

Employee 3: "Probably not, rich person like Mina would never get too close with a guy like YN."

Employee: "For sure, YN is just acting fake to be very nice just to get closer to Ms. Mina.",

Employee 3: "Wait, what if he's doing that to impress her as a plan to make her admire him."

Employee 2: "What? No way. He doesn't have any chance. Little did Ms. Mina know that YN can't even keep a girl on his side... just like what he did to his girlfriend."

Employee: "Oh yeah, I heard that they broke up because of him."

Employee 2: "He really doesn't have any shame huh?"

Employee: "But for sure it won't work. YN is definitely not on the league with the likes of Ms. Mina."

All the time I was listening to them, my frown was immediately formed in my lips as I'm sighing heavily all the hurtful words they throw on my back.

I decided not to fight back and continue to compose myself instead because what they're saying about is true anyways.

Although I can disguise myself looking very fine through the outside, but the damage that has been done from my inside is something I can't and won't ever be denied nor to be tricked.

My aching heart made myself release again another teardrop from my eye as a result of their harsh comments about me and my failed relationship with ex.

I didn't even know that while I was starting to cry, Mina was already looking sidewards at me, feeling sorry for me about what I'm going through again.

She did a fake cough after and she rotated her body to face my three fellow workers as they are now being confronted by her intimidating aura.

Mina: "Listen up you three, we can hear your spiteful words throwing behind our backs here, especially my friend YN here.", she pointed at me. "Just want to let you all know that we aren't deaf, especially to this man beside me. And let me get this perfectly clear, yes me and YN are close and I don't give a damn what you say about him.

I am the type of person who doesn't judge anyone without even knowing entirely their side and stories, and sure as hell I'm not a coward like you three who can't say it right in front of faces.

How dare you three speak like this to him as if you three are better than him. Looking at your personalities, I don't think so already. Now get out of my sight before I change my mind and report this disgusting behavior to my father and let him decide the fate for you three after this.", she said with a menacing and insidious bossy type voice as she commanded the three to be gone on her sight by scaring them with her irritated grunt and piercing stare.

All three employees: "S-sorry, Ms. Mina.", and I felt their presence disappear in my back. Mina then returned back her attention towards me.

Mina: "You okay?", she said softly.

YN: "You don't need to do that, Mina.", I said to her while sniffing my tears. "They're right anyways. A lower than average guy like me who fails at everything doesn't deserve to get along with others... especially with the likes of you."

Mina: "No, don't listen and mind them, YN. It was not true."

YN: "Then if it is, why did my girlfriend left me?", I stared at her with my eyes who tells how much I am suffering right now. She sighed and then she pulled me from a comforting hug which was effectively made me stop crying.

I can already sense the stares of people around us but I didn't mind it at all. What's important is that Mina was giving to me something I wanted to have right now to make me calm and ease my despair.

Mina: "YN, you're just meeting the wrong type of people in your life. They are just too judgemental who downgrades people because they only focus on the downsides and not at their advantages... and for me, what you possess is your great personality. You're a great guy, YN and yes it's too absurd for me to say this because we just became close for only almost a month so far but I do speak the truth. I won't accept your offer of friendship if I am like them.

Don't let the negatives affect you and focus only on the bright side. It's normal to fail in our daily lives and no humans were perfect either right? But, this is something very important because we can use this one day to learn from it as a lesson and to step up and be better as we try again in the future. You're gonna be okay?"

YN: "Yeah. I will. Thanks, Mina.", I said to her breathily which was enough for her to hear it because my head was just right beside her ear.

She gave me another pat to my back and released herself from our embrace. One smile from her and I'm already brough back to my fine state. I swear everything that Mina does just made me calm, safe, stable and healed in an instant. Now it makes me very grateful from the gods above that I met a good person in this world like Mina.

I won't be surprised anymore if one day I would just found myself admiring her with all my heart because of how her personality and her looks both define the word "beauty".

Mina: "Always ready to help. C'mon lets get out of here. I already lost interest of staying here longer. Let's find a place where our mood won't get destroyed more.", she took my hand and pulled it with her as I got forced to follow her but I wasn't complaining though.

We went to say goodbye to Mr. Myoui and he accepts our excuse to leave. After that, we exit the hospital and Mina led us to her arcades as we played all the games there to beat the high scorers while some of it needs us to battle each other as a respect for multiplayer setting.

Overall, Mina just quickly prevented my night be ruined and turned into darkness and instead switched it back to be one of the happiest I ever had in my life... which was being only with her.

-1 MONTH LATER-

Driver: "We're here, sir.", the cab driver said to me after he stopped driving.

YN: "Thank you.", I said to him before paying him my money for his service. He drove away after and now I am standing in front of Mina's mansion.

Before I went in, the guards ask me my name first which I gave to them. They checked it on the list and fortunately I was there so they let me inside.

As I entered Mina's mansion, what greeted me is a crowd full of many rich and glamorous looking people scattering around this well organized place, which has bright lights hanging around the wires above us, tables and chairs placed symmetrically with one another; some were two, some were four and some were more than that amount. As an addition, there was also some balloons tied in some spots; indicating that there is a huge party being gathered here in my friend's place.

Well it makes sense 'cause tonight is Mina's 25th birthday and she included me as one of her guests which she also expecting the most to come too, along with her parents, relatives and other friends; which she told me. Not to make her disappoint, I quickly left my duty and changed my outfit instead with my most presentable suit I have before I arrive here.

I was roaming around the place when in a perfect timing, the birthday girl located me.

And wow, she looks... beautiful. She definitely owns this night as her outfit was the main highlight out of us all around here.

She was wearing this red dress that once again gave justice to her perfectly molded curves. Her one long, smooth and flawless leg exposed out of the fabric that makes me blinded enough at the more I get to take a look at it.

Ofcourse, how I could I not mention her gorgeous face and her lips that is enwrapped and sealed with a red rosy lipstick.

Mina: "YN!", she quickly walked towards me and hugged me. The aroma of her perfume and her long wavy dark hair was already making me feel dizzy at it.

YN: "Hey, Mina. Happy 24th Birthday to you.", I said as I accepted her hug.

Mina: "Thanks. I'm glad you came.", she said and gave me her adorable gummy smile which makes me blush every single freaking time.

YN: "You're expecting my presence here, I don't want the birthday celebrant to feel a bit sad all because of me because I can't join her to celebrate on her special day.", I said to her. "Oh by the way, you look so elegant in that dress.", I said as I looked once again at her from head to... nah I didn't reached the toe because once again her alluring leg was about to distract me again.

Mina: "Thanks. You look handsome tonight also, YN.", she complimented me back, enough to earn a smile from me. " I'll be leaving for you fof a while okay? I'm just gonna entertain some other guests here."

YN: "Take your time.", I nodded and let her continue to walk around this place and meet every single unfamiliar people around here in her mansion.

After I finally had a seat only for me, I took my time to just watch everything that is going on around here.

YN: "This place is wonderful. Tonight is joyful... and she... she was so beautiful.", I said as the image of Mina's look tonight immediately showed up in my mind.

Some minutes later, I made myself busy by starting to eat my food drink this glass of Sprite in my table. I admit, I kinda feel left alone here because I can't talk much to Mina since she's focused on entertaining her guests, I can't also find some familiar faces to talk with except to Dr. Myoui who's here also tonight for her daughter.

I had some a little bit of conversation with him though then he went to his friends.

Talking about friends, well sadly I can't find Sana and Momo here because they went back to Japan to deal with something regarding their family's business.

Well both their families are partners and doing a collab together that's why. Mina was a bit sad about it but thinking maturely, she instead chose to understand it and wished them safe on their flight.

I was looking around again while drinking my refreshing Sprite here when my eyes stopped at something that kinda looking unpleasant to see.

My eyes stopped at Mina who's looking uncomfortable talking to a guy with a large grin on his face. I noticed that he's getting closer at closer towards her, trying to gain some contact with Mina.

As I saw her wirst now locked in the grip of this guy, I already stood up and went towards their spot so that I could know what is going on to them.

Not trying to be nosy in minding someone's business but seeing Mina with a look of disgust in her face was already a cue for me that there's something wrong going on.

YN: "Hey, Mina. Uhh could I excuse for a second? I just wanna ask you something.", I made up a lie as an excuse. Mina quickly looked at me, shocked that I guess she didn't knew that I will be here with them.

Mina: "O-Oh..."

Guy: "Yo, can you save it for later? This precious lady and me still has something to deal on with.", he said to me. I looked at him and bro, the audacity of this bumass to flirt weirdly at Mina with that mid- looking face of his.

The way he spoke his "compliment" to Mina just made my blood start to boil.

YN: "Oh, okay. Am I interrupting your time with her?", I said, acting calm towards him but seriously I want to bust his face up right now.

Guy: "Yes can you leave us alone already?", he started to get irritated. Haha suck on that, I don't give a damn about it. It was my intention anyways to piss you off.

YN: "I'm afraid not. In fact, I'm not even gonna apologize for ruining your moment.", I said, pursing my lips. "Especially that you're the only one who's enjoying here and not her."

Guy: "Look, who the hell are you anyways?", he said rudely. There you go, he finally showed the true side of his.

YN: "I'm her friend who's just doing exactly what am I suppose to do."

Guy: "And that is?"

YN: "Protecting her. Now please, get your hands away from her. You're making her feel uneasy. Cmon, dude it's her day today, don't ruin it.", I tried to pull Mina away from her by gripping her other shoulder but it just made this douche pull Mina away from me, which he did harshly by the way.

Now, Mina was standing beside him now and when I looked at Mina's face, all I could read that she's scared, hurt and uncomfortable now at this guy's presence.

Guy: "Shut up. I don't care who you are. You don't own her so let me be with her."

YN: "Says the guy who is pretending that what he said was opposite.", I scoffed. "Look, you're just forcing her."

Mina: "Y-YN h-help.", she saw in a very low tone but it's enough for me to understand her situation now. I'm just doing my best to rescue and help her escape this.

Guy: "Well, I show you that you are wrong. Cmon, Mina. You want to join me right? Just one night, okay? You'll gonna enjoy my gift don't worry.", he said with her weak convincing smile. What I can all see in it is just pure evil and sadistic that is enough for me to predict what he can do to Mina later if I allow him.

YN: "Sir, please. With all due respect don't make any scene here. Don't make me force you to quit this.", my "heroic" starts to get into me even more as I bravely started to raise my voice on him.

Guy: "Pft. Acting tough aren't we? Why, what are you gonna do when I give you this?", he leaned away his head to me before he gave a quick slap right straight to my face. It successfully made my face now with reddened cheek lean more than what he did.

I pretended that I decided to just give up on this as many people were watching us two right now. But unbeknownst to him, I was planning to strike back in a much powerful way.

YN: "I'm sorry, Mina.", I muttered to myself before I stepped back and gave him a quick superkick right through his chin; enough for him to crash on the ground with the impact of my shoe to his scumbag face.

YN: "I warned you already.", I stepped in front of him who's holding his chin in pain.

Mr. Myoui: "What's going on here?", my boss and Mina's father came to the scene since what we did took his attention towards us.

YN: "Mr. Myoui, please kick this guy out. If I wasn't able to notice, he would've done something very inappropriate to Mina here.", I explained to Dr. Akira.

Mr. Myoui: "Is that true, Minari?", he looked at her daughter who is terrified. The effects it gave to her just made her nod as an answer.

Mr. Myoui: "Alright, I'll deal with him first. We'll talk later. YN, check my daughter on my behalf for a while okay?"

YN: "Yes, doc.", I complied. He then called the guards as he joined to forcefully throw the maniac out of the place.

YN: "Are you okay? What did he do to you?", I said as I started to set my eyes on my friend here. She didn't answer me back because what she felt more to do is she crashed her body onto mine and hugged me tightly.

Mina: "Thank you."

YN: "You're welcome. Now, answer me please. I'm worried."

Mina: "I'm okay. He just told me some out of the line words and forcing me to go out with him which I repeatedly trying to decline. He was so desperate of me.", she told me. I just clicked my tongue after she confirmed my speculations.

YN: "I guess I'll be doing this more often from now on.", I sighed.

Mina: "Hmm, what do you mean?"

YN: "Checking up on you. So that I could always tell that you're okay. Cause if you are, well I will be the same too.", I said to her seriously. She smiled after and that was a relief for me already seeing her okay now.

Mina: "You definitely sound like a nurse.", she said which made us cackle.

YN: "Okay, I can't deny that especially that it's coming from an aspiring doctor herself.", I smugly looked at her which she blushed.

Everyone started to clapped at me as they got impressed at what I did for our birthday celebrant here. I just bowed to them gratefully for giving respect at this samaritan move that I did.

YN: "Oh, by the way. I hope you like my gift.", I pulled out something from my pocket and I revealed a small black box to her. I gave it to her and she opened it, a shining necklace that has her initial carved in it along with a figure of a penguin beside it.

YN: "Since I don't know your taste in jewelry, I just thought that I'll be the one to choose instead for you so... I picked the prettiest that captured my eyes.", I nervously explained to her because I'm worried that she might not like it.

But, well Mina being herself again... she just makes my heart flutter whenever she does this.

Mina: "YN... it's perfect. Seriously, this is so beautiful.", she said as she laid the necklace in her palm.

YN: "Thank god you liked it.", I chuckled and she giggled. "Mind if I help you with it?", she nodded and I stood behind her. I carefully set aside her silky long curvy hair so that she can expose her neck on me and wrap this necklace around it.

After I finally locked it, Mina turned around at me and she presented herself along with her new jewelry that came from me.

Mina: "How is it?"

YN: "Now it looks more perfect, since you're the one wearing it. Happy Birthday again, Mina.", I smiled at her.

Mina: "T-Thanks, YN", she stuttered and gave me her cheeky smile. She gave me again another hug and I just let her do it whenever she wants because it's her favorite thing to do anyways.

Mina: "Hey, by the way is your cheek okay?"

YN: "It stings a bit still but you know, I'll be fine.", I said to her, trying to disregard it, but her caring personality won't let me get away from it as she placed her warm hand on my beaten cheek and I swear, my heart started to beat increasingly as I can now feel her touch on my face.

What's even more to this is that she was once looking first at my cheek then her eyes landed and stared right at mine. Now we are both ended up frozen at this moment as I wander around her beautiful face, admiring it secretly which I wonder if she was doing the same.

This feeling that is cursing through my body because of my heart was something I can't deny and pretend that I didn't know about this, because this is very familiar to me. I had this before and I certainly know what's the. only one thing it means and it will make me led directly towards to the person who's making me feel this way.

I'm in love.

I'm in love with Mina.

Mina: "U-uhm, s-sorry.", she shyly lets go of my face. I just gulped as I tried to compose and make my blush vanish because of her. "Your cheek is still red, YN. Let's go inside the mansion, I'll put some ice on it."

I'm just out of the words already so I silently followed her after.

-2 MONTHS LATER-

YN: "How is it?", I said as we arrived in this fancy looking outdoor restaurant that I and "someone" chose for us to go tonight for two reasons.

First, it's because she successfully passed her licensure exam 2 days ago; making her finally accredicted as a licensed doctor. After she announced it to me, I joined her as I happily greeted and congratulated her. I promised that I will treat her as a reward for her accomplishment and this led us here today...

... which I brought also my plan and my second reason why we are here tonight.

I'm planning to confess my feelings to Mina.

Ever since the birthday party, my feelings for her grew more and more everytime me and her having some time together. Everything that I admire about her means so much more to me now. It led to the point where I can't stand a day not having any signs of her. It's like she's also the reason why I'm living an all active everyday.

Learning from my mistakes, I remembered what she adviced to me to do and I followed it. I did my best to secretly impress her and show some signs that I love her then sneakily wrapping it back it a friendly gesture just so I won't get too obvious.

It's better if I wanted to reveal it to her on my own, taking the first move to confess instead for her to realize instead first.

Mina: "It's great. Looks very cozy and... expensive. How can you manage to do this?", she asked me curiously. Well, I understand her. I know that I can't afford such thing like this but thanks to "someone", I was able to give her this.

YN: "You'll find out later.", I winked at her which she giggled. I went to the receptionist and stated my name for reservation and she guided me to a spot where it's just me and her all alone because I wanted to spend this lovely night only with her like I always use to be.

Like a gentleman, I pulled her seat for her to take which she gratefully accepted. I sat on my own and now we are both facing each other in our table.

YN: "How's your day?"

Mina: "Good, you?"

YN: "Same but tonight's became better. I hope you are too.", I smiled.

Mina: "I am, YN. Don't worry.", she gave me again that cute grin of hers as a proof.

YN: "Great.", I nodded as I took it as an answer already. The waiter came to us and asked for our order. Me and Mina started to pick fron their menu and carefully stated ours to the waiter.

After the waiter listed and repeated it for us as a clarification, he walked away leaving us alone together again.

YN: "So, can you share me what happened in your day so far while we wait for our food?"

Mina: "Sure. So, uhh my team and I assisted this patient who had-", then she continued sharing her story to me while I did the same too.

Our talk got paused when the waiter gave us our ordered dishes. We went on to continue our conversation as we eat our dinner.

After that, we decided to catch up ordering our preferred dessert. All I know was I'm just watching Mina ate her cookies and cream ice cream as I got lost in my thoughts lingering in my mind right now.

Well, I can't help it because I'm about to proceed with my plan next after this. I'm getting nervous right now and I can't stop breathing heavily as my heartbeat is starting to rise up.

"You can do this, YN. Don't waste this moment, it's now or never."

Mina: "YN, I think I'll melt quicker in your stare than your ice cream.", she said, waking me up back from the reality. I got startled for a bit which caused Mina to laugh at me shortly.

YN: "O-Oh... sorry hehe.", I shyly apologized.

Mina: "Is there a problem, YN? You're spacing out."

YN: "Nothing, it's just...", I shook my head but I stopped it right after and sighed heavily because I don't want to spat another lies anymore just for this moment. "I'll be honest. I can't take my eyes off you. I swear you really are gorgeous at everything you do.

Mina: "Oops, sorry not sorry.", she smirked and giggled at me. I just looked at her in confusion because I didn't wuite get what does she meant by that. She wasn't apologizing for it? And what's with the smirk? Was she teasing me?

After we finished our desserts, I escorted her for to go away in our seat and walk in this empty spot where we standing in green grass only surrounded now by bushes, the restaurant behind us, the sight of the sea striking the shore with its waves and the dark dazzling nightsky above us.

This is a perfect setting according to my plans, so without wasting any more time; I started to face her and speak with only my heart is taking its turn to control.

YN: "Mina, I have something to tell you."

Mina: "Hmm, okay. Why? What is it?", she said as she faced me too, her long wavy hair dancing to the air.

YN: "This is just something that I really want to release something off my chest.", I started to hold her hands which I heard her let out a soft surprised sound.

"Mina... I, I like you. A lot. These past few months being with you, I- it helped me a lot.", I started confessing while my eyes are glued only in her face that I only wanted to see as I say this with all my heart right now.

"When I first saw you at the bar, singing. I knew it wasn't only your voice that is angelic about you at that night. As we talk, you really had me became very interested about your personality. You're smart, elegant, kind, soft, humble... you cherish precious little things and respects it's value as if it weighs equally than a bigger one.", I said to her as the flashbacks of the first time we met together in the bar started to play in my mind and what followed afterwards that started for us to build memories together.

" That's why I wanted to get to know you more after we became friend and days go pass by, it's very impossible for me not to admire you as a woman. I don't know if I do sound convincing or not but it's fine. I get it that you can't trust men easily these days after what happened to you but... I just wanna this simple and clear.", I huffed through the air before going back to my confident self, continuing to say what I want to say.

"Mina, I- I'm not like them. As of now I can proudly tell that I am the realest person I could ever be in my entire life, because this feeling...", I placed her hand on my chest to feel my heart beating in a fast speed because of this moment being with her. "...this love that I am carrying on which you made me grow more only to express it for you, I should held responsibility and became very sincere about it. Just so I can make you know that I love you, and I hope you'll open your heart for me and let me begin.", I finally said it especially the three I've been dying to say to her. Now, I want to see if I'll get the same return.

Mina: "I-... Wait, wow. YN, that was... unexpected of you.", she said as she got choked in disbelief. I only just chuckled because it's true. "I really am touched but mind if I ask... were you scared?", she asked me. It made my expression turned into curiousity onto why she questioned me that.

YN: "Of what?"

Mina: "Letting me know about how you feel for me?"

YN: "I do.", I admitted, still being the man of my words that I won't lie to her for tonight. "Because I'm also wondering what if after everything I do, taking this as an example; I will still end up and always be not enough again to have my love be reciprocated; since I see myself as a man who can't reach someone's expectations just to make them stay and love me too.", I frowned as I lowered my head. My eyes are about to land on the ground when I opened it up widely as I felt Mina's fingers cupping my chin and slowly rising it back to make me level my sight once again at her.

Mina: "You don't need to be afraid anymore, YN.", she shook her head. "Let it go and just be free to yourself. Y-you... you don't even need to do this where you cost much money just to make your confession more romantic. Just... admitting and doing your best to prove how you can be worthy for me to love you is enough to me... which, luckily; you did it.", she giggled. Her last words made my frown instantly disappear. The butterflies on my stomach are going crazy as my thoughts about what she meant by that is making my mood lightened up more.

YN: "So uhh the answer... was it a y-", I wanted to confirm it already but Mina placed a finger on my lips. I blushed hardly when she leaned her face closer to me as that mischievous smirk once again showed up on her lips.

Mina: "Ssshhh let me finish. Don't you worry, anymore. Now that you have me, us together...", she went on to touch my hair and caress it. "I will always let you know that being just the way you are, well I'm already contented and satisfied to be with you. I'll treasure your imperfections along with your good sides because...

I love you unconditionally, YN/LN.", I grinned widely when she said that. The words I've been anticipating to hear from her, she finally said it. I feel like I wanted to jump repeatedly in joy because of this success and this lucky moment.

YN: "And I'll do the same only for you, Mina. Your trust in me will be greatly valued and protected. Thank you for believing in me.", I said enthusiastically to her as my energy doubled up when she finally confessed that she loved me too.

Mina pulled me immediately for a very deep and passionate french kiss where are lips and tongue danced roughly at each other, the tip of our nose rubbing together, face all red due to cheeks blushing intensely, wanting to savor and feel every single once of the love we created to feel for each other.

Our kiss got interrupted when the colorful fireworks forming a heart started to pop out of nowhere in front of us. Mina looked at it and she has this gasp that I can tell she was in awe watching it.

Mina: "Also this, YN?!", she unbelievably said.

YN: "HAHAHAHA, thank your father also for this.", I laughed as I revealed to her that the "someone" I was referring to that helped me prepare this plan of mine was her dad and my boss, Dr. Akira.

After he gave me my salary as I went to his office, he doubled it up and didn't listen to my embarassed decline of taking it. He wanted to me take it instead as a repay for what I've done for his daughter.

Then he pulled off a hot seat when he just straightforward asked me if I do like her daughter. I was trembling nervously at that time so he calmed me down and he assured me that he won't gonna be angry at it since it's not even against to him.

In fact, he wanted to me to be for her daughter. He said that he saw me as a perfect guy and the right one for Mina as he secretly observed me how I do act better than his daughter's ex who played her.

So, I didn't lied anymore and answered him that I do like- or should I say, love- his daughter. In the end, he gave me our blessing already and I shared to him my plan of confessing to Mina, which he offered willingly to help me... leading us up to the successful result that is happening tonight.

Mina: "E-eh? What has Dad had to do with this?", she confusingly asked me while having this hilarious surprised gasp.

YN: "Well he gave me a raise to my salary plus he helped me organize this. He has our blessings now by the way.", I summarized my explaination to her.

Mina: "Oh... then I guess we should have yours-"

YN: "No need. I know they are too, and they watching us up above now with all smile too for sure.", I pointed up and she already got what I mean as it made her purse her lips and mouthed "sorry" which I just neverminded it and assured her that it's fine.

YN: " I love you, Mina."

Mina: "I love you too, YN.", she smiled back and we continued our kiss as we crashed our lips together once again and watched the firework show to end the night.

Y/N giggled slightly, rolling her tired eyes as she pulled herself out of bed. She headed into the kitchen, her slippers lightly dragging against the tile floor of their dorm lazily. The bright light of the fridge made her wince as she pulled out two containers of banana milk, poking a straw through one of them to sip on. The other was for Jungkook.

When they both moved in together, they decided to lay down some ground rules. They weren’t really rules per se, just obvious things that needed to get set. They were allowed to have friends as long as they weren’t too loud, anything in the fridge was theirs unless the container was labeled with their name on it, don’t make a mess, or if you do just clean it up. But one that they both agreed on right away? ‘No yelling at 3 in the morning, especially during exam season.’ Yet here Y/N was, sleepily sipping on banana milk while on her way to Jungkook’s room.

She swallowed the sweet milk and closed her eyes before knocking on his door. The sound of his soft voice almost lulled her to sleep had he not opened the door. 

In all his glory, there he was. Headsets hanging around his neck, hair messy but still fluffy and floppy against his forehead, and those doe-like orbs that she just couldn’t get enough of. She almost audibly sighed at the sight of him, especially since he was wearing those grey sweatpants that almost made her risk it all during one of their movie nights. 

“C-can I come in?” Y/N spoke up quietly, her voice hoarse with sleep deprivation.

“Of-of course!”

Y/N walked into Jungkook’s bedroom, the sound of his door shutting behind her making her shoulders slump. She looked at his computer and saw the game still going on. She figured she’d watch and see what the hype was about. Especially since Jungkook had been shouting at it since he got back from class. 

He flopped back into his gaming chair in front of his desk, but he didn’t pull his headsets over his ears. Instead, he turned around to look at Y/N. His eyes looked guilty and she could hear her heart whine at how cute he looked.

“I-I didn’t keep you awake did I?” He pouted. “I’m so sorry, I lost track of time and I didn’t even know that I was being that loud,”

She giggled and held her hand up in front of him. He stopped talking and he smiled softly at the gesture. Well, at least she wasn’t mad at him.

“I got you some banana milk, do you want it?” Y/N offered, shoving the carton into his hands before he could even agree.

“I was literally just about to get some,” He chuckled. “Get out of my head dude,” 

The girl giggled and got comfortable on his bed, looking at the screen behind his head. It was a loading screen, he was probably waiting for another match to start. Her eyes scanned over the bright colors on his screen, reading each of the words to see what was so fun about the game or even try to make sense of it.

“So what’s the point of the game?” Y/N began. “Is it like Call Of Duty?”

Before Jungkook could answer, Y/N heard the sounds of his friends on his headsets roaring through the speakers at her comment. She smiled and craned her neck forward to try and hear what they had to say about it.

“Ask her if she plays video games, Kook!”

Jungkook looked up at her knowing that she’d heard the question. The way he was looking at her nearly made her forget what was being asked. After realizing she had been staring at him a bit too long, she shook her head to snap herself out of her thoughts.

“Yeah, I play! I’m not the best at everything I play like you are, but I’d say I’m a pretty decent player!” She admitted as honestly as possible.

“Maybe I’ll teach you how to play sometime then,” Jungkook suggested with a smile. “It’s basically a first-person shooter game, but it’s so much fun!”

The match started and Jungkook excused himself, throwing his headsets on to talk with his friends again while Y/N watched from behind. To say that Jungkook was good would be an understatement. He could play for an E-sports team if he really wanted to. His character was moving so fast and the way he was quick scoping everyone just screamed how good of a player he was. She couldn’t help but get lost in how fast his aim was and how precise his shots were. 

As the game went on, Jungkook could feel Y/N’s gaze on the screen and he couldn’t help but smile stupidly the entire time she watched him. His feelings for her had been bad, but the second she mentioned she played video games too? He was ready to get on his knee and propose right then and there. 

The room was quiet. Jungkook could hear Y/N move on his bed, and then her feet hit the floor. He figured she was going to head to her room and try and fall back asleep again. But she didn’t.

Y/N’s head found itself in Jungkook’s lap, watching the screen and waiting with him for the next round to start. He felt her yawn against his left thigh and he didn’t want to make any sudden movements. She was getting comfortable and he couldn’t help but dream about how she would feel in his arms. His head was spinning and his brain went cloudy at the feeling of the girl of his dreams resting her head in his lap.

“Hey guys, it’s late,” Jungkook began. “I’m gonna log off for tonight, but I’ll get back on tomorrow, sound good?”

Little by little, his friends started to agree, and soon enough, Jungkook was taking his headsets off and shutting his PC down. Y/N looked up with puppy-dog eyes, wanting to watch more game-play despite how droopy her eyelids were.

“You look really sleepy, don’t you wanna go to bed?” Jungkook inquired, his voice soft and clear in the air. 

She stood up and stretched her limbs out, eliciting another yawn from her throat. She felt like she could sleep on a pile of bricks comfortably at this point and Jungkook could tell. 

“I-I’M NOT TIRED,” Y/N shouted slightly, trying to make it seem like she wasn’t ready to pass out on the floor.

Jungkook jumped slightly at her sudden change in tone and started laughing, ruffling her hair slightly to tell her to calm down. She pouted at him and his heart soared.

“Hey, I thought we agreed on no yelling at three in the morning, hm?”

Y/N rolled her eyes and listened to him chuckle before protesting. “Says the one who was screaming since he came back from class and kept me up all night,”

She yawned again and felt her eyelids slowly start to lose the will to stay open any longer than they needed to. 

“You’re lucky you’re so cute, or I would’ve raised hell,” 

Her eyes were wide open now. She slapped her palm over her mouth and took a step back to register what she just said. Meanwhile, Jungkook’s heart was doing flips and his stomach was filled with butterflies from wall to wall. He smiled brightly, barely able to believe what just came out of his roommate’s mouth.

“I-I’m so sorry, that was inappropriate, oh my god I can’t believe I just said that,” She apologized. “I-I’m just gonna go to my room,”

He couldn’t let her slip away after that. So, he did what he thought was best.

Jungkook grabbed Y/N by her wrist, pulling her into his chest and holding her so she couldn’t escape his grasp. And before he knew it, he was stooping down to her height to press his lips against hers. Her lips tasted like the vanilla bean chapstick she always carried around with her. The sweetness of it all was nothing compared to how soft her lips felt against his. He swore he was in heaven the second he felt her kiss him back. 

Her hands flew to the back of his neck, her digits twirling strands of his wavy hair. His hands slowly moved down to her hips, his fingers gripping them with such ferocity she was sure that he was going to bruise them into her skin. He was holding onto her like she was going to escape if he didn’t pull her closer to him, but somehow she found comfort in feeling this way. So vulnerable in front of him and falling for every trick he pulled from the book. He felt amazing. It felt so right.

When they both pulled away to breathe, Y/N couldn’t help but stare into his eyes, seeing a whole galaxy of stars just waiting for her to dive into. The way they shone even in the darkness of his bedroom made her swoon and she felt drunk off of how good he was treating her. How touch starved she used to be and how he so easily took all of that away and showed her what it felt like to be loved.

“I am so glad I moved in with you,” Jungkook admitted breathlessly. “From the first day we met, I thought you were the most gorgeous girl I’d ever seen in my life, other than IU of course,”

She giggled and shook her head playfully.

“You really love IU, don’t you Googie?”

He sighed at the pet name she’d given him since they first moved in, shaking his head with a chuckle before rubbing his large, chocolate orbs.

“Let’s go to bed now, how does that sound?” He offered, pulling back the comforter on his bed and patting the mattress for her to lie down.

“That sounds amazing,” She sighed dreamily, closing her eyes the second her head hit his pillow.

Jungkook crawled in right next to her, throwing his hoodie over his head and snuggling close to her. His skin felt warm, his body was just radiating heat and she felt like a moth drawn to a flame. He wrapped his arms around her and she couldn’t have felt safer anywhere else other than in his arms.

All of the dreaming he’d done, the imagining of how perfect she’d feel curled up next to him never could have prepared him for this moment in time. He thought all of the cliche bullshit about fitting together like puzzle pieces in their lover’s arms was so stupid, but there was no other way to describe it than just that, and he didn’t hate it at all. Not one bit. 

“Googie,” Y/N began, the rumble of his soft hum against his chest making her heart grow in size. “What does this mean for us?”

He sighed and pulled her closer.

“It means that I finally have the girl of my dreams right where I want her,”

He paused. 

But for the past few weeks you grew to anticipate the dream every night hoping that you would get another look at the man who possessed them. At first your anticipation wasn’t lustful but instead out of simple curiosity. You had never seen this man before and now suddenly you were constantly thinking about him. Was he real? Or was it just a part of your imagination?  You had spent many nights and days thinking about your dreams and what they meant. But ultimately you came up with no answer. Which is partially why after a short amount of teasing from your friends you decided to never mention the dream to them again.

As per usual you took glanced at your clock and sighed when you saw the time.  It was 9:27, which means that you have about another thirty minutes before you needed to settle down and go to sleep. You pried yourself off of the couch and headed to the kitchen. The dishes weren’t going to wash themselves and although you hated doing dishes you turned on the hot water and got to work. Hopefully if anything it would just kill some more time before you went to bed.

You dried your hands once all counters were wiped down and all dishes were put away or scrubbed clean and standing to dry. Turning to the clock once more you sighed again. There was still 20 minutes left until bed time.

By now you were completely tired, and your eyes burned, and you wanted to just crawl in bed and pull the covers over yourself and crash.  But you simultaneously wanted to prolong yourself from going to sleep. It was addicting to have the same dream every night. It was like solving a mystery to find out who he was, why he did what he did and what it means for you, but at the same time it was completely maddening waking up the same way, confused and tired again day after day with no other answers.

You turned off your kitchen lights and shuffled into your bathroom and ran the hot water just how you liked it. You stripped out of your clothes and jumped into the hot stream and let it just run down your back. You stood there for a minute and allowed the heat and water to silently pull you into a mindless bliss. It took you a few minutes to actually move or do anything other than just standing there. After you came back to reality you washed your face, hair and body and then quickly got out of the hot water, finally feeling the affects on your thirst and skin.  

You quickly got out and wrapped yourself in a towel, drying off your body and changed into a comfortable night gown. When you were finally finished in the bathroom you walked the small steps to your bedroom and peeked at your alarm clock that read 10:03 pm. It was finally time to go to bed.

You set your alarm clock to wake you up, plugged in your phone and made yourself comfortable under your bedsheets. It wasn’t natural to be so punctual to bed before you started to experience your dreams, but ever since they started you always fell asleep at the same time every night as if it were magic. You could be wide awake one moment and then pass out the next. It was totally strange but no one else seemed to find it unnormal. You allowed yourself to think that maybe you were just being paranoid or maybe your body was just on a routine schedule, but as nights passed by you began to think that maybe it wasn’t all coincidence.

Your body began to feel heavy and you closed your eyes knowing that the sinking blackness was going to take over. And almost immediately after your eyes lightly shut you heard his voice. It was soft and hushed as if it were a lullaby softly luring you towards him. You wasted no time, instantly taking off in his direction, no longer afraid of him but rather intrigued.

At first you will admit that the reoccurring dreams did startle you and always seemed to be a nightmare at first. But after constant exposure to this dream you were sure that if it was supposed to be scary or if he was going to harm you then he would have already done it by now.

Your dream looked the same as per usual, it was dark and misty and yet everything was crystal clear. It had a sublime feeling that you couldn’t describe. You were running down a long hallway constantly opening up doors to find him. The walls were black and the doors were all a dark red and there was a certain smell of must in the air that gave the hallway the feeling of being very old and homey.

You went door to door opening up the rooms to find total darkness inside as you tried your best to find the source of the voice that taunted you. You pushed yourself off of the walls and urged yourself to run faster and faster as you peeled yourself away from each door frame in attempt to make your search as quick as possible.

This was always a part of his game, he made you search for him. Some nights he was closer than the last and some nights he taunts you and never lets you see himself. Or sometimes he would stand in the middle of the hallway bored of the anticipation and waiting for you to finally seek him out. But tonight you seemed to be on the hunt for him. He wasn’t going to give himself away to you to easily tonight.

“you’re going to have to run faster than that if you want to find me tonight darling.” He chuckled from wherever he was hiding within the walls.

You groaned and pushed yourself to your limit, filling and using up the full capacity of your lungs while you tried your very best. You opened two, five, ten, twenty more doors with no success and you stopped and leaned against a wall to catch your breath. Your feet were burning  and your lungs were on fire making your sides cramp. You didn’t know if you could physically take any more of this game.

“do you give up yet little princess?” he asked with a low voice and chuckled “beg for me and ill show myself”

You stopped listening and thought about his offer for a moment. It was a dream so you knew that it wasn’t anything too serious. But the fact that it kept reoccurring made it seem like it was more and you didn’t know if you were comfortable to be begging for this… things presence.

“Beg! Beg! BEG!” it chanted back at you and you stopped breathing as the voice became more and more malicious.

In a split moments thought you bolted down the hallway and ran towards the end. There was no particular reason why you had done this. It just felt like it was the path you should take, like it was the closest route to your end goal. After a minute of full blown sprinting down this hallway that seemed too supernaturally long to be real you were face to face with an matte black door.

You sighed in relief when you finally came across it. You didn’t have to open it to know that this was the door where he was hiding, you could sense that it was it. You glanced over it noticing all of its unique features that set it apart from all of the other cloned doors. It had an elaborate crowning around the doorway and a emblem in the middle that you couldn’t make any sense of. It seemed like it was something old and historical, but something also oddly not of this world. But mostly this entryway had two doors, as if it were a portal instead of a door. You took a deep breath and grabbed a door knob and pushed the door open.

Suddenly as if you were transported into another time and dimension you were no longer standing in the doorway of this strange hallway, instead you were standing in your own bedroom doorway and watching yourself as you lie in your bed and slept. You searched around the room in a frantic panic and looked for any signs of the man who you saw. He was nowhere to be seen, and this was your first time ever being put in your own home.

You took an unsteady step forward and peered into your room, looking down at your small sleeping face in the dark. It felt…. It was unexplainable to see yourself as a stranger for the first time. But as soon as you were going to step into the room for a closer look at things a hand from behind you grabbed onto your shoulder and held you in place.

You turned to your head back slowly to look at the man in the eye as he held you back. But as soon as your eyes were going to land on his own he was no longer behind you. You snapped your head forward and your eyes widened when you saw him laying next to your sleeping body. You were going to rush forward when he looked up at you and you froze in place. You knew exactly what he was going to do to you, having seen it time and time again for the last month. But this time is seemed personal since it  was happening to you in what looked like real life. Before each time he played his games it was always in one of his many rooms, but now it was too real and too aggressive.

“what are you so scared of puppy?” he asked you in a low sarcastic voice “you know you love it when we have our playtime!” he added seductively

You watched as he slowly ran his hand over your side from breast to thigh and a violent shiver ran down your spine. He pulled the covers away from your body and smiled when he saw your choice of nightwear. He admired your night gown in a way that was completely sickening and sarcastic.

“what a beautiful gown” he said with a chuckle in his voice “and what easy access you’ve give me” he whispered

He slowly grabbed the hem of the gown and slowly dragged it up to your stomach, exposing your panties making you become nervous. Your heart frantically beat in your chest as he traced the edges of your panties, and dipping  finger inside of them. He gasped as he touched you and withdrew his hand to suck on the tip of his finger.

“you’re so wet” he said with hooded eyes

“you’re fucking disgusting!” you screamed from your spot as tears brimmed over your eyes and spilled onto your cheeks.

He clutched his fist shut and stared at you with a shocked expression, as if he were offended and hurt by your exclamation. “oh, but don’t you know that you love it!” he said with a shit eating grin “if you touched yourself right now I bet you’d be even more wet then you were a moment ago” he said nodding his head towards the sleeping apparition of your form on the bed.

You stared back at him with complete hatred and disgust in your eyes. There was no way that you would be turned on or excited by this delusional psychopaths antics. Dream or not it felt like a complete lack of privacy and space. Bottom line what he was doing was sexual assault and there was no way that you were fascinated by such intimate intrusions.

You didn’t move a single inch from where you stood. Not intentionally. You physically could not make yourself move, and you struggled against your invisible binds.

He got up form the bed and lightly walked towards you until he was face to face with you. He gathered your night gown much like he did previously and repeated his intrusions on you. But this time when he touched you, you could feel his fingertips. Previously you couldn’t ever actually feel him touching you but knew and could see that he was. You gasped at the horror and shock of the new feeling and your eyes went wide at the feeling of him dipping his finger inside of your womanhood.

He smiled at you and then removed his finger to expose his now wet digit. “you cant deny that a single touch lights your body up like a fire… that what I do to you makes you more excited than what you could ever do for your own pleasure”

You hardened your gaze on his eyes and gave him a warning with a harsh tone “if you touch me again I will kill you.”

He chuckled at you and removed his hands from your body before turning to face you completely. He stepped towards you once to judge how you would react and then a second time when he received to response. As soon as he was was within arms reach he leaned into your ear and whispered

“can you kill me? can you kill something that’s not real?”

You squeezed your eyes shut and mentally blocked out his words from your brain. You kept them shut for a moment but froze up as soon as you realized that he no longer seemed to be standing in front of you anymore.

You held your breath and flew your eyes open scanning your surroundings prepared for him to be anywhere. But a wave of relief overwhelmed you when you realized that you were no longer standing up but laying down in bed. Your eyes were glued to the ceiling and you surveyed every inch of it before you sat up in your place.

It was just another dream. You chanted to yourself as you tried to calm your heart down from its pounding rate.

You gazed over your surroundings and finally let your breath go. It was over and you could finally be at peace. You wiped your sweat from your forehead and stood up to fetch a drink of water from the kitchen.

You reached into your cupboard and grabbed a glass with shaky hands. You were mad at yourself for being so shaken up by your dreams but they seemed so hyper-realistic and your body was always worn sore after you woke up. And this time was different. You had never sad so much contact with him in your dreams before and now he was beginning to cross boundaries.

You filled your cup and drank its contents in one swallow. You gazed back towards your bedroom door and sighed.

“one more sleepless night” you whispered to yourself and sat your empty cup down in the sink.

You eyed the couch and contemplated taking a seat and spending the rest of your night watching a movie. Like most nights you were never able to go to sleep again after your dreams, preferring to stay tired instead of submit yourself to the torment again.

You checked the time and were surprised to see that tonight you got more sleep than usual. Typical nights you woke up from the nightmares around 2a.m. but tonight it was almost 4. Only 3 more hours until you need to get ready for work. You tipped your head and looked over at your work bag and let your mind wander off to your most recent case. You peeked inside of the bag and pulled out your workbook and flipped it open to the tab with the date February 21, 2019.

You took a seat and took a deep breath before you dove back into the scenes that had your mind reeling. Two women have been found dead in their homes. No one entered the homes with force, nothing was seemingly missing and there were no signs of struggle or force on the victims bodies. On the outside it seemed like a natural death or suicide case, but you had an itch that it was something much deeper than that.

There was no way that two women had died of seemingly the same cause on the same day and time who were completely unrelated to one another. You had an idea that someone had done something to these women to make them pass but you wanted to be the one to find the answers and give these women their due justice. While everyone passed the cases off as natural cause of death you were stuck trying to find convincing proof that malicious events occurred leading up to their deaths.

And god damnit you were going to find it. Even if you died trying.
