Byee ~âĄ
Thank you so much dear. <3
I am glad you liked the story, I really loved writing it. I'll definitely keep Kihyun and the whole of monsta xon hand for when I write again ;)
Kihyun is one where I never know what to write but always end up liking what comes out.
Authorâs Note: Since Iâm so fascinated by astrology, I decided to do a Zodiac series! I will be writing a one-shot fic for each sign featuring different members from different groups (and even an actor!). Each story will be posted on the 5th of the month during that signâs season. Please reblog, comment, or send in an ask with your feedback! As this is the last story in the series, I would just like to thank you for your continued support! I am so thrilled with these stories, and I hope you enjoyed them as much as I did đ
âJoo Hyuk!â you called out forcefully, your brow furrowed slightly with exasperation.
Upon hearing his name, Joo Hyuk jumped a little and was quite effectively pulled out of his stupor â which, of course, he hadnât even been aware heâd been in.
âHmm?â he hummed, pushing his glasses farther up the bridge of his nose and focusing on you sitting at your desk across from him.
âYou were staring again,â you sighed as you pursed your lips.
Joo Hyuk could feel a flush of heat simmering across his nose and cheeks, and the tips of his ears began to burn with embarrassment. âSorry,â he murmured, trying to muster up a casual smirk and chuckle in hopes that it would trick you into thinking he wasnât quite so mortified.
Honestly, though, he should be used to this. This had happened so many times in the past two years â he had always been prone to daydreaming, even way back in grade school, and you had caught him in the middle of one countless times by now. He really shouldnât care that you had snapped him out of yet another wistful, ponderous trance.
But he did care.
A lot.
Because the expression on your face and the tone of your voice had started to become increasingly annoyed over the last few months, and the last thing he wanted to do was annoy you.
I mean, not only were you his co-worker â and his desk neighbor, to boot â but you were his friend!
âŠAt least, in his mind you were his friend.
Actually, in his mind you were more than his friend. Much more.
And maybe thatâs why he still got so shamefully flustered whenever you interrupted his daydreams: because he was always daydreaming about you.
You and Kihyun had decided to make a birthday cake for Yongsun. He told you that he was the best cook out of the friendgroup and you believed his word for it. His and Shownu's, you always trust Shownu's word, Shownu never lies. Hyejung in return declared you were the best cake decorator which was doubtful but seemed like fun.
Hyungwon had taken Yongsun out into town so the rest of the group could get everything ready while Bora and Jooheon were sent out to get anything that was still missing for the perfect party.
The oven was preheated, the batter almost ready, when you came to the realisation that you still needed to prep a cake tin. If you could even find one. You looked through all the cupboards until finally you found something that looked like it, in the right corner cupboard at the top.
You were about to climb onto the counter to reach it if it weren't for Kihyun running to your aid. "Wait, I'll get it!" He rushed to stand behind you and could just reach it, placing it on the counter next to you. You turned around in the little space you had, trapped between the corner of the countertops, the fridge that slightly stuck out, and Kihyun's chest.
"Do you always stand this close?" You blurted out in a hushed tone.
"I'm sorry." He went to turn away, to give you some space, but your left hand reached for his wrist, keeping him close. Your right hand that was on the counter beside you reached up, past his cheek and over his head. Some of the flour falling down his bangs making you giggle.
"I should have known." He grinned widely. Leaning his head forward enough so your foreheads were just not touching, shaking his head so the flour now cascaded from his hair onto yours. The room (and his heart) was filled with your laughter. But the sound died down as soon as the both of you realised he had closed the distance even further with his playful action. You could feel his breath on your skin, he could smell your favourite soap that you had used that morning. It may just be his favourite from then on as well.
Neither of you knew what to do. Close the gap? You both knew that wish was mutual, it felt right. But what if it was wrong?
"Are they going to kiss?" Bora gasped from the doorframe.
You pinched your eyes closed and lowered you head again. "We can hear you, you know"
Kihyun stepped away and continued working on the cake as if nothing had happened. Only the flush of his cheeks and tightened jaw proof that it had affected him too.
Bora earned a slap to the back of the head from Jooheon, it was only light but enough to earn a pout.
"Did you bring the cream?" You quickly changed the subject. You saw Jooheon wanting to make a joke but your pointed look stopped him and he raised his hands in defense, walking back out the way he came.
Bora placed the bag with cream and fruit on the table, winked and walked out as well. You let out a deep breath and decided to let Kihyun take care of the cake, working on the toppings instead. You could feel Kihyun look over at you once in a while but neither of you knew what to talk about after that. It had been silent for long enough now that that was just the way you were going to work. Though awkward wasn't a feeling that could exist between the two of you for long it would seem. When the cake was in the oven and he came to help, everything had seemed to go to normal already. It only took the two of you half an hour to decorate the cake, just in time as well.
"They're back!" Hyejung called out from the living room. When you went into the room, it was completely decorated with garlands and tacky balloons filled with helium.
As soon as the two entered the room, a synced singing of happy birthday erupted. You noticed two squeaky voices joining in. glancing over at the others you were sure it was Chankyun and Shownu that had inhaled some helium, your singing briefly interrupted with laughter.
Everyone went over to hug and congratulate her and the party began, party games and all. You noticed that every time the only open seat was next to Kihyun, the only group you could still join was with Kihyun. Not that you minded but it was either a huge coincidence or someone meant it to be that way.
Either way the day was fun and ended way too fast. While you lay in bed you couldn't believe there were only two more days left. It had been as if living together in this cabin was the new normal.
Your mind went to what might have happened before in the kitchen, everything that could have gone differently, everything you could have done differently. You couldn't stop playing different scenarios in your head. It had been an hour since you had gone to bed and Bora was still on her phone, evident by the light coming from behind her head.
"Ugh, Bora. I don't know what to do."
"I do, just kiss him. A big ol' smack on the lips." She deadpanned, making an exaggerated smack sound.
"How would you know what I am talking about?" You groaned, resisting the urge to hit her with a pillow.
"Itâs obvious! You've been tossing and turning since your head hit the pillow. Itâs clear the two of you like each other. One of you just needs to act on it."
"But what if that's not it at all." You turned you on your side, facing her bed, leaning your head in your hand so you could talk properly. She looked like she was getting just as frustrated as you felt. "It is! I swear! It's clear you like each other."
"Itâs clear you and Jooheon like each other but neither of you have acted on it in a year." came your response.
"Maybe we have." She tried to keep a smile from creeping up by pressing her lips together and pulling her sheets closer.
You gasped in excitement "What? What happened?"
"Earlier in the store I grabbed his hand because he was going the wrong way, and he didnât let go until we had to pay." She squeeled a little. Making sure it wouldn't wake anyone.
"Oh my gooood." You let yourself fall into your pillow again in frustration. "This hurts me physically. Just go out with him already!"
"I could tell you the same thing!"
You sighed, not having a comeback.
"We are so pathetic."
"Yeah, I know."
After another five minutes of the two of you wallowing in self pity, if we want to exaggerate just a smidge, you got out of bed.
"Where are you going?" Bora raised her head from the pillow to look at you. "Just for some fresh air, maybe it will help me sleep." With that you walked out the door and down the stairs in your cute pyjamas.
You stood at the side of the porch, leaning over the railing and looking out to the lake nearby. You heard someone else walking over the gravel path and onto the porch, making their way to you at a comfortable pace. It was odd to you that you recognised the footsteps. "Couldn't sleep either?" of course it was Kihyun's voice that came from behind you in a hushed tone. You turned around to realise he hadn't left much space between you.
"Do you always stand so close?" You joked. His smile was light, nothing forced or awkward about it.
"Only to you." The wind sent a shiver down your spine, he noticed you shiver. He took the sides of the blanket that was draped over his shoulder and wrapped them around you, so you were now both cucooned inside. He realised immediately that he could have taken it off and given it to you but with how close the two of you were standing, this worked.
There was a flash of doubt in your eyes, just a moment, before you faced your head to the side and grabbed the sides of his hoodie, cuddling into his warmth.
"Thank you, I should have brought my own." His heart skipped a few beats at this. His chuckle was ragged, afraid of making the wrong move when continuing to wrap the blanket and simultaneously his arms around your back. "No, this is perfectly fine."
He allowed himself to enjoy the moment for a little while, until a thought popped into his head that he had to share. "I've been thinking about what you said the other night. About how everything comes so easily between us. About what it means. I'd like to find out as well, if you'll let me." The both of you leaned back enough to look at each other. You nodded, wanting nothing more than to explore what this was. It had never felt like this with any of your previous relationships but you were sure that that is exactly what this would become. "Kiss me?" It came out as a question yet there was no doubt in his mind that he would oblige. His lips touched yours and you both melted, as if a stress was taken from your shoulders. His lips soft both in feel and movement, a breeze flowing through your hair and his grip tightening to keep you warm. He pulled away, the two of you matching grins as you took turn stealing just one more peck before you cuddled back into him.
"I might be crazy but, can I call you mine?"
"I might be crazier because I am already wholeheartedly yours."
And so you stood there until neither of you could keep your eyes open. For you had healed each other's sleeplessness for the night.
By the time you got back to bed Bora had already fallen asleep. She would just have to find out about it in the morning. Sadly when morning came she was already out of bed and downstairs. So you went to shower and get dressed before making your way downstairs to the living room.
Most of your friends were already having a coffee or a tea. You smiled at the homely feel you got from the sight as you stood next to the couch. As you listened an arm wrapped around your shoulders from the back and a hot drink was offered to you as well. You smiled and quietly thanked Kihyun.
You saw Hyejung glance over for just a moment before looking at the others with slightly widened eyes. "Guys, no sudden movements. They might realise we're here and back off." She could be so dramatic.
"Ha ha, very funny. " even though you were mocking back, you actually laughed. Who cares if your friends tease the two of you. At least you found eachother eventually.
Jooheon mumbled something under his breath before whispering to Bora. She in turn leaned over to quickly give him a peck for everyone to see.
"Finally! And you guys act as if we took a long time." You exclaimed. Some congratulations were thrown among the group before everyone gathered for breakfast.
There were two more couples in the friendgroup now, but the lot of you made sure that that didn't change anything about this trip. You would always make sure to do everything with the group the way you had been before. And made sure this was the most memorable birthday Yongsun could wish for.
â„ Thanks for reading! Â â„
My goodness that is a long "short"story. I hope you liked it!
When you arrived at the cabin some people had already gone to bed, others had waited up. As soon as you got out of the car, Bora and Jooheon came to hug you, glad that you had arrived okay.
"I kept you a spot in a room with me." Bora said, helping you unload the most important stuff. "What? I could have sworn you would get a room with Jooheon." You winked, earning a shy 'shut up, it's not like that'. Bora was the outspoken 'don't care what anyone thinks' type of person and a good friend for a long time so it was nice seeing her being shy about something (or someone) for once.
"What's that?" She motioned to the styrofoam box you were carrying inside. "Oh this? Perks of married life." you laughed at her confused face. Shaking your head you said "I'll tell you later."
After the four of you had carried most of the stuff inside, both Bora and Jooheon went to bed. You stayed up by the dying fire in the livingroom fireplace, still being a bit too alert after the drive and cold mountain air. So did Kihyun it seemed when he handed you a glass, bottle of Soju in the other hand. "Want to share?" You nodded, holding out your glass. After clinking glasses and taking a single sip you couldn't help but reach for the desserts. Again he laughed with a smile wide enough for his eyes to form to crescent moons. "No one can resist a good dessert." You defended, taking your first bite.
The two of you got comfortable on the couch, facing each other on the 3 person sofa, sharing the blanket you had taken from the car; This time talking about Bora and Jooheon.
"Oh yeah, they are totally ending up together by the end of this. I am surprised they aren't official yet." he agreed with you.
"So he likes her. You're sure?"
"Totally, it's so obvious. I don't get how he doesn't realize himself how much they fit together." As he said this, your mind wandered back to the conversation in the hostel "A lot can happen when you spend this much time together." You quoted Yongsun "Who knows, this trip might just be it." the two of you stayed silent for a bit after that, the remaining warmth of the fire felt soothing on your skin.
"Maybe we should both go to bed, before you fall asleep on the sofa." He broke the silence. You drank the remaining Soju in your glass and with a sigh you got up. "Alright, goodnight." You whispered, walking past him. "Goodnight" He replied.
The next few days groups had formed that always did everything together. The only thing everyone did together was eat. After lunch it was your and Jooheon's turn to clean up. You put on some music on the speaker in the livingroom adjacent and filled the sink to do the dishes.
Standing here with Jooheon now, you couldn't help but pry.
"So, how's things with Bora?" You asked as subtly as you could.
"I don't know, you've spent more time with her than I have." He shrugged but you could see he wasn't as oblivious as he made himself out to be. He was like a brother to you, you could hear his voice change, you could see him avert his eyes as if casually drying the dishes.
"You know what I mean. Don't play dumb."
"Well what about you and Kihyun."
"Well we're not the ones dancing around each other like two hopeless romantics." you deadpanned.
"You sure about that?" His eyebrows raised with the pointed look he gave you. You splashed him with the water that was on your hand. "You're avoiding the subject." He couldn't help but notice the blush on your face when you said this however.
"I'm not kidding though, she has been spending most of her time with you and the other girls so I haven't really talked to her much." Maybe that was the problem, maybe you had to do something about that.
In the other room Bora, Yongsun, Hyungwon, kihyun and Chankyun sat talking and enjoying the music. They had been talking about their recent favourite songs when Kihyun was surprised by something Yongsun said "How have you not heard of imagine dragons before. Give me a second, I am sure you have heard their songs without even realising." He picked up the phone and typed in 'natural'. It soon playing over the speaker.
After hearing the song for a bit Yongsun had to admit she had heard it before. Bora however was stuck on something else. "Isn't that Y/N's phone?" She asked, being sure it was.
"Oh yeah, I'm sure she won't mind. It's just to change the song." He stated casually. He thoughtlessly turned his head to the door leading to the kitchen and smiled, hearing you sing along to the song. It bringing back memories of the two of you singing in the car.
"You know her code?" she questioned, not even knowing it herself.
He didn't answer because as if feeling his gaze in your direction, you appeared in the door. "How about we do a karaoke night tonight, get everyone together." You said excitedly. Maybe you had been thinking about the same thing.
Everyone that was on this trip had something to do with music one way or another so obviously this was happening as soon as someone uttered the word karaoke. "Believe it or not, but I have a karaoke machine upstairs." Yongsun said to no one's surprise. So in the evening you guys got the fire burning and made some space so two people could sing and the rest could gather on the sofas or on the carpet.
Yongsun and Hyejung had started with an upbeat song, Shake it from sistar. It worked wonders as no one could sit still to this song. You even got Shownu to dance along. The laughter filling the room starting off the night right.
You were scrolling through songs when you got an idea. "You know this one?" You asked Jooheon, as soon as he nodded you put it next in line.
The music started and you automatically moved to the music. Your voice fit the song well and you and Bora had sung along to it many times before as it was one of her favourites. You noticed her mouthing the words as you sang them before you turned back to Jooheon. You were both in it for the show, neither of you needing to look at the screen to know the words. When you got to the chorus you were completely into the song, walking and moving to the beat. When it was Jooheon's part you stood with him for a bit, jamming to the music before changing your path to Bora who was sitting in front of the armrest of the sofa. You pointed to her, motioning her with your finger to stand up and sing the next part. She rolled her eyes and took the mic before her part could start. She naturally took her place in front of Jooheon, the two of them perfectly mimicking the chemistry Hwasa and Loco showed in the music video.
You sat down in front of the sofa where Bora sat before, it coincidentally being next to Kihyun's legs. You felt him mindlessly playing with your hair but you didn't mind, it felt kind of nice even. When the song ended you excitedly clapped for your two best friends. Bora turned to you with mischievous eyes. "I see how it is." She said, still in the microphone, amplifying her voice as she spoke. "Let me return the favour." The song turned on with a tap as if she had it ready.
You gasped at the first few cords "Oh my god I love that drama." Bora nodded. "I know you." She shrugged making Jooheon laugh knowing exactly what she meant as well. He walked over to sit next to Kihyun and handed him his microphone. Kihyun gave him a confused look as he took it. "It's your OST man, you better sing it."
The two of you stayed seated with this slow song. You closed your eyes singing the first few lines before Kihyun joined in and you looked up, meeting his eyes. It was exactly like in the car, it was as if the two of you were attuned to each other. Leaving place for one another's voice to come through and harmonizing as if singing together was the most natural thing. You looked away as you sang 'I think I've gone crazy' and as the song ended you were snapped out of the moment by the others clapping. You laughed at their antics and handed the microphone to someone else. You really thought you might have gone crazy because the song went by so quickly as you sang to one another.
When Minhyuk and Hyejung started singing their song, Kihyun nudged your shoulder with his leg as you still sat next to is. He smiled down at you and you looked up with the same expression, hiding the fact that both your mind and heart were racing.
That night was the most fun any of you had had in a while. You noticed the content smile on Yongsun's face showing this was exactly what she had in mind when inviting everyone for her birthday. Which was tomorrow, you realised just then. You really needed to do something special for her.
Before midnight had come, most of your friends decided it was time to turn in. You told Bora to go up already as you sat yourself in front of the fire with a blanket draped over your shoulders until the fire would die out on its own.
"I still have a bottle of Soju." You heard from your left. It sounded like an offer but as you looked towards the source you saw Kihyun already holding the bottle and two glasses.
"Don't offer me a drink." You sang the familiar lyric you had sung before, yet taking the glass from him.
"Don't sing that sooong." He whined.
"Why not? I love that song." You laughed.
"Just don't"
"Jealous?"
You meant it as a joke. You really didn't think that to be the case. Yet his averted eyes and cutely scrunched nose told you you weren't far from the truth. It gave you a nudge of confidence.
"Then why have you barely talked to me these past few days." He was about to deny it but the raise of your eyebrows stopped him.
"I didn't know if you would be alright with riding in a car with only me, let alone have to spend the rest of our trip around me. So I thought I'd give you some space after spending days locked in a car together." He confessed.
âActually, I have always felt comfortable around you, myself, you know. I'm not sure what exactly that means, but⊠I know it means something.â you cleared your throat, not sure why you said that out loud. "I think I've gone crazy."
He chuckled "Stop quoting songs."
"But I caaaaan't." You replied dramatically throwing your head back. That made him laugh. An extraordinary sound to your ears, it would make you want to smile even wider when already happy and at ease.
âWhy does it feel different when itâs you?â He suddenly asked. You weren't sure what to make out of that question. It could mean so much, or so little.
"What do you mean?" You decided to just ask.
"I don't know, sitting, talking, singing, being alone together, getting the know each other even though it feels like we already do, know each other. It's just so natural." he really looked like he was trying to figure it out. His forehead wrinkled behind his bangs and eyes staring into yours as if they held the answer.
"I get what you mean." A smile on your own lips. You looked down at your drink and at your legs, only now realising that you were in the same position as some nights before. It just came naturally.

One of your friends, Yongsun, had invited you to her family's cabin for her birthday. To get there she had the bright idea to do a roadtrip spanning 2 days. Most of the people knew each other but you knew some better than others.
In the dilemma of who was going to sit in which car, you stayed quiet. Apparently so did Kihyun resulting in the two of you driving in the luggage packed car while the other two cars held 4 people each.
You didn't have anything against Kihyun, it was just that the two of you hadn't talked much before. Your main fear was that it was going to be an agonizingly awkward two day drive.
The first few hours the conversation was light, small talk really. What else had the two of you to talk about? It was quiet in the car as you were enjoying the scenery. The next song started and you recognized the one of a kind sound of imagine dragons right away. To your surprise, as soon as the lyrics started it wasn't just your voice you heard singing along but his as well. After a few lines the two of you were switching parts to sing and harmonizing as if you had practiced this. His fingers tapped on the steering wheel and your head bobbed to the music.
After your karaoke session the atmosphere was much lighter in the car. Neither of you holding back in singing along or telling stories about previous trips or things that happend with the friends the two of you had in common. You had already stopped a few times and switched places but the day felt like it had flown by when you noticed the car in front of you pull into the car park of the hostel you all would be staying at.
The two of you naturally parted ways after getting out of the car, the men and women heading to different blocks. You lay yourself down in between Yongsun and Bora, Hyejung laying down on the other side of the birthday girl after the 4 of you had put on your face masks.
"So," Yongsun turned to you "I hope you didn't suffer too much during the car ride here." She nudged. 8 hours ago you would have reasoned the same, but now it caught you by surprise. "Huh? No, it has been fun."
Hyejung sat up with dramatic speed "Kihyun? Fun? didn't take him as the type."
"I don't know, a lot can happen when you spend this much time alone together." Yongsun said suggestively, digging further into what you said than need be.
"Oh come on," Bora laughed, you're glad for her interruption of these allegations "you guys are so harsh. How about you huh, you sure you and hyungwon are still going to be on good terms by the end of this trip." this earned a pillow to the face from Yongsun "it's not that bad."
"You only fought twice." she mocked casually, teasing Yongsun.
"It's just that I know the area around here. I know the nicest routes. He's just following the GPS without listening to my directions." was her reasoning. You nodded along, Bora rolling her eyes having seen it all from the backseat of the car they had been in.
"You wanted to be his passenger princess instead of driving yourself." That shut her up, promising to drive the next day. The four of you talked for an hour longer before one by one falling asleep.
The next day after breakfast everyone packed a lunch for on the way and all got into their spot in the car. You could hear the conversation between Hyungwon and Yongsun. Turned out he actually liked driving, having her as passenger princess. But after the conversation before, Yongsun wasn't letting up and got in behind the wheel.
"You good?" Kihyun asked as you stood in the open car door."
"Yeah, was just thinking about something me and the girls talked about last night." Kihyun didn't pry. As soon as the cars in front of you left, he followed behind.
Compared to yesterday, the roads had become more narrow, surrounded by dense forests and it seemed like you were continuously going uphill. A few hours after you guys had stopped for lunch it started to rain, getting worse fairly quickly.
"Ah, damn, the navigation isn't working. I can't see a thing with this storm." He tried his best to see where he was going but with the rain he could only see a few meters in front of the car, there was no way he would be able to follow the others who were only a little ahead.
"Must be bad mobile data service with the weather in the mountains. Give me a moment, I'll call Yong-sun." The phone rang once, twice, trice until a few beeps could be heard signaling bad reception , supporting your theory. You texted Bora that you guys were going to pull over for a bit to figure things out and pulled out the map on your phone. Luckily you had downloaded the maps of the area in advance so you could at least figure out your next move.
"There should be a small car park up ahead on our right. Let's stop there until the storm calms down." Kihyun nodded, focusing on the road and waiting for the sign to drive into the car park. It felt like gravel and there were only 2 other cars there. Sadly you didn't recognize either of them as the ones your friends were in.
"Did your message send?" He asked after carefully parking the car. Now that the engine wasn't running anymore you realised at which volume the both of you had been talking to hear each other over the rain landing on the roof and windshield.
"It took a few tries but I think so. She hasn't answered yet though and nothing is going through in the group chat."
The both of you came to the conclusion that you would figure it out by yourselves, using the map on your phone.
"Look, this is where her cabin is. According to the GPS earlier it was still a 4 hour drive but no way we are making that in this weather."
Kihyun leaned over the gear stick and so did you so he could see the map on the small screen of your phone. You had never been this close to him before and it felt a bit embarrassing the way your body reacted to the proximity. Your skin flushed around your cheeks and neck and your breath got stuck in your throat as if you forgot how to breath without thinking about each in- and exhale. You cleared your throat to refocus and pointed to where you guys were stranded at the moment, thinking that was what he had just asked.
"I'd say we wait out the storm for a little while. Maybe get some sleep so we can leave right when the storm clears." He offered, sitting up straight again, taking off his seat belt and adjusting his hoodie so he could get comfortable in his seat. You nodded and followed his lead, taking off your seat belt and reaching for the blanket that you had stuffed behind his seat. You heard Kihyun clear his throat and when you looked over you saw he had already sunk into his seat and closed his eyes. With the plof sound of your backside hitting the seat again he opened one of his eyes to be met with you offering him one of the blankets. "You are one smart cookie." He joked, earning a chuckle. He secretly adored the roll of your eyes that told him you were comfortable enough to make fun of him. It made him feel like he didn't need to keep his guard up constantly either, constantly worried if he was polite enough or too bothersome.
He waited for a little while until you got comfortable under your blanket, laying your head facing the window which you could barely see through with the rain pouring down outside, before going to sleep himself.
By the time the two of you left, the sun had set. You had plugged your phone into the car so it could charge, seeing it had died sometime while you were asleep. After about 10 minutes of driving you asked Kihyun to turn it on, and right away multiple messages came through. "That's probably Yong-sun or Bora, the others are probably worried. Could you check? My code is 2102." He nodded and unlocked your phone.
He was woken up by a tapping of a hand against his shoulder. "Kihyun, look." The first thing he saw when he opened his eyes was you. An excited smile on your face, a glimmer of light in your eyes and a red hue cast over your skin making it glow like that of an angel. He blinked a few times before averting his gaze to what you were looking at. The rain had stopped outside, the only water that still fell was that that had been caught by the leaves of the trees around the parked car. Through the windshield he saw a soothing red hue framing the hills that the two of you had probably driven past earlier that day without even realising. The sunlight slowly fading like the volume being turned down on the world yet its warmth still filling his chest. His chest raised and fell with a sigh as if releasing all of the stress the storm had caused him. He looked back at you to see your calm smile pointed to him. "I'll drive next, let's stretch our legs first." Is all you said before opening the car door and stepping out. He chuckled as he saw you try different weird stretches to loosen each possible muscle that had been stuck in the same position during the long time in the car.
"The others had stopped somewhere up ahead as well. They left about an hour ago when the rain stopped. Want me to reply?" You agreed that he should let them know that the both of you would be there before midnight according to the GPS on his phone that was working again now that the sky was clear.
Suddenly your stomach growled loud enough that even Kihyun could hear. "Maybe we should stop for dinner somewhere. If we find anything that is still open." Not too far away there was an inn. It was 8 in the evening so hopefully they still served food.
Kihyun walked up to the door first. Taking the handle in hand and stepping aside so you could walk through. "Such a gentlemen." You giggled, receiving a smile that reached his eyes. Unbeknownst to you he thought your laugh was cute. Never in your previous meeting had he noticed that. "Welcome" a woman said from behind a counter "room for 2?"
"Oh no, we were actually wondering if the restaurant was still open." You had a polite smile as you spoke and looked over at the nearly empty dining area. "We got stuck in the storm and haven't been able to eat anything yet." He added in hopes it helped in still being served a meal, his hand casually finding a place on your shoulder as he stood behind you.
"Take a seat, I'll go check in the kitchen." The two of you took a seat near a window and it wasn't too long before she came to take your order.
"So the two of you honeymooning in the mountains?" She asked, taking the menus from the table. You were going to answer but Kihyun beat you to it "Yeah actually, we're on our way to a cabin a few hours from here. We're really looking forward to it." He showed her a beaming smile, his eyes barely visible, your lips pressed together stopping you from either smiling or expose his lie.
"Well congratulations! Let me get this order ready for you so you can be on your way and enjoy this precious time together." As soon as she was out of sight and earshot you kicked him under the table.
"Why would you lie to that poor woman." You whispered with a laugh.
"What? She said it. Maybe we'll get a discount or something." He shrugged, his smile as mischievous as him.
"You are a bad, bad man Kihyun."
After dinner you guys paid, or Kihyun insisted on paying actually, and before you could leave the friendly lady from before walked up with a large Styrofoam cooler box. "To congratulate you and so you can celebrate wholeheartedly as soon as you are in the comfort of your cabin." Inside was a variety of deserts and two bottles of Soju. You thanked her repeatedly and turned to Kihyun who took the box from you. The look he gave you said 'I told you so', clear as day.

This is getting very long so for ease I will cut this up into two parts but part 2 will be up soon after this one.
fanfic writers are so cool and way too humble, theyâre like âhey guys, i just wrote this at 2am last night, itâs not that good but hope you like it :)â and then you read it and immediately need every single word of that masterpiece tattooed all over your prefrontal cortex
kind of not gender neutral, well guess you can change noona to hyung and oenni to noona but you know. hope you like it
You and hoseok had been friends since you were kids. People would often describe you as yin and yang. Even though he was a little shy when he was a kid, compared to you, he was a crazy active and outgoing kid. Yet the two of you were inseparable. That was until later at least. You went to different high schools and even though you still mailed each other (as you did in those times), you drifted apart. And after he moved, you barely heard anything from him anymore.
In one of his few mails, he had told you he was about to debut in a boygroup, and you were number one fan when the debuted. But now, years later, you had both lost complete track of each other.
You now lived in Seoul, had a decent job and were just living life as it was. You left your apartment to got to that of your neighbour. She was a woman in her late twenties with three young kids, practically taking care of them on her own as her husband was often abroad for work. So you would often babysit the oldest so she could work in peace while the two youngest slept. Youngdo was already a hand full on his own.
âNoona!â The four year old yelled as soon as he noticed you walk in. He practically jumped into your arms and you gladly set him on your hip.
âYou want to go to the park?â You asked and he nodded excitedly.
âOenni?!â You yelled, looking trough the apartment, and found her in Youngdoâs room.
âAh, Y/N. Iâm so glad youâre here. I havenât been able to do anything today and Youndo made a mess on top of that.â You looked around at the toys that she was now cleaning up.
âYoungdo, thatâs not very nice. you should clean up after playing.â You sat him down and patted his butt so heâd go clean himself. He wobbled towards his toys, quickly putting everything back in the boxes. She sighed, leaning into you as if you were really family.
âI donât get how you do it.â She huffed
âItâs because Iâm not his mother.â You stated matter of faculty âIâll take him to the park for a bit so you can have some peace and quiet.â
âActually,â She started âcould he sleep over at your place again? the twins are starting to get their teeth and he hasnât slept very well these past nights.â you simply nodded in agreement. âAll pick up his stuff later.â You smiled as he just got done cleaning and started pulling your trousers.
You left for the park and seeing Youngdo wanted to play in the sand a bit after a while, you decided youâd draw a bit in your sketchbook. You often looked up to check on him and heâd always be sitting in that same spot, until suddenly he had wandered off. The park was practically enclosed so he couldnât have gone too far, so you calmly walked around, looking for him. You had literally just walked around the playground and you heard light crying, that was obviously Youngdo, from close to where you had previously been.
âHey whatâs wrong little guy?â You heard a male voice, your view still blocked by playground equipment. Youngdo just kept sobbing ânoonaâ over and over.
âItâs okay, letâs find your Noona, alright?â The man said, picking him up and glancing around, Youndoâs sobs calming a bit. You, however had already spotted them as you had run over, now standing not too far away, looking at them with a surprised yet caring smile.
âYoungdoyah~! Iâve been looking for you.â You said teasingly, with a wide grin on your face. Hoseok turned to you and Youngdo immediately stretched his arms out to you. You took him from Hoseok and his small arms wrapped around your neck tightly. âAigoo~â You giggled.
âY/N?â Hoseok asked in disbelief, lowering his mouth mask.
âHoseok.â You smiled.
âItâs been so long.â He grinned, wanting to hug you but you were obviously taken at the moment. âWe have to catch up.â He stated.
âWe can grab a coffee.â You offered.
âAh, we could, I mean, I canât really, idol and all remember, at least not around these parts. Maybe somewhere else?â
âCanât, I have to take care of Youngdo until tomorow.â you sighed
âThen maybe I can come to your place? or is that weird?â
âHoseok, we literally had sleepovers every week.â You giggled
âThen letâs do it again.â He grinned
âWhat?â
âLetâs have a sleepover.â He grinned, and you could never say no to that face.
As you walked to your apartment, Youngdo refused to walk on his own and just clung to you. but it was nearly impossible to even open your neighbourâs door.
âCan you take him for a bit?â You asked and Youngdo gladly moved to Hoseokâs arms as the tall man grinned down at him.Â
âIâll be right back, I just need to get his stuff.â You smiled and he nodded.Â
When you came back with the bag, he had already fallen asleep in Hoseokâs arms, and he was staring down at him as if fascinated by the small human.
âCome on.â you giggled quietly and you made your way into your apartment, letting Hoseok place the little man in his bed in the guest bedroom.
âYouâre really good with kids.â You smiled and he grinned down at you. The two of you sat on the couch for a while, reminiscing, until Jhope suddenly offered to make a fort. You laughed in disbelief but the two of you were soon sitting in your makeshift fort.
âWah, you really bring back the kid in me.â you giggled âIâve missed this.â
âIâve missed you. I canât believe we lost track of each-other.â
âYou know, I lost hope for a while.â you joked making him chuckle âbut I knew weâd meet again some day.â you leaned against his shoulder and he hummed in content. The both of you falling asleep in your fort.
The next morning, you woke up still there, Youngdo jumping around in the fort.
âGoodmorning little sunshine.â You smiled, getting out with the ball of energy in your arms âWhereâd Hoseok Hyung go?â You wondered as you didnât see him around anymore. âHyung went to get breakfast. Heâs getting me pancakes.â He grinned.
âBut Youngdo, you know you canât eat pancakes. Theyâll make your tummy ache.â You said, frowning in concern.
âI know, but hyung said he has special pancakes.âÂ
Soon enough, Hoseok was back and went straight to the kitchen.
âHey hobi,â You started in concern âYoungdo canât have pancakes, heâs lactose intolerant.â You said.
âI figured, he said pancakes and icecream make his tummy ache so I got the lactose free ones.â He smiled and you couldnât help but grin a Cheshire grin.
âThatâs so sweet of you.â
After you all ate your delicious pancakes, Youngdo went back to his mom, not before telling Hoseok to come over to play soon, and you two started to clean up the kitchen a bit as he had insisted. It was quiet for a while, until he suddenly spoke up.
âI like you.â He smiled.
âooh, I like you too.â You grinned.
âNo. Ah, how did I know this would happen.â He sighed.
He turned towards you fully and repeated his words, and if this didnât get the message across, the single orange rose that rested in his hands sure did.
(orange rose meaning enthusiasm, passion, gratitude and most importantly, first love.)
âYouâve been my first love ever since we were young.â

THAT'S IT! So I wanted to start writing again and started writing reactions based on one of my favourite requests in the past. Reactions are usually 500-1000 words long but I keep writing too much! So now I'm just writing one for every member and I might just post the reaction post as short descriptions of the stories. Hope you enjoy! ~HyeJin
You had been noticing your parents acting weirdly for the past month or so, again. It didn't surprise you anymore that they acted this way as they got into trouble from time to time and scurried to solve it, only to end up in some other trouble a few months later. They always told you not to worry and to listen to what they asked of you, to keep you safe. They didn't ever ask much of you, mostly to not ask questions and not to speak to anyone about the things you found out about their failed business deals. When you were really young they did ask you to give a large package to a man at the park, later you found out it was a large wad of money. In hindsight maybe they did ask much of you but everything was always fine in the end. This time was slightly different, however.
"Honey, your father got into some serious trouble. Seeing you're of age now, we have chosen someone for you to marry. This way your father and I can figure stuff out. You understand, don't you?" To be very honest you didn't understand, but you nodded either way. You had always listened to your parents, without question. Yet they had often made questionable decisions. This was just the cherry on top. You wished to believe your parents were doing what was best for you but often wondered if it wasn't just what was best for them. The night before you were supposed to marry this complete stranger, you lay awake thinking everything over. They had only had you meet once, before deciding the marriage was going to happen for sure. This just wasn't fair, you hadn't done anything wrong, yet you always had to do things you didn't want to do.
"I know you're nervous honey, it's completely normal." You mom said. You had been staring at yourself in the mirror. Your hair was done up, littered with tiny pearls that looked like stars in the galaxy created with strands of your hair. Your makeup that had been done by a true artist looked natural and glowy, your lips looking more plump than ever and your eyes accentuated just enough to be the focal point of your features. The broken-white dress you were wearing flowed down your body like a perfect wave, being the spitting image of what you had dreamed it would look like. Framed by the edges of the mirror, the image of you looked just like a painting. You should have been happier than ever, drifting on pink clouds. Yet you felt like you were at rock bottom ever since you met the man they intended you to marry. "I wouldn't call this normal, mother." You had resorted to calling her that lately as you couldn't get yourself to sound endearing towards her anymore. No matter how much you stared back at the perfect reflection of you, your eyes stayed dull and empty, your face unwavering of its neutral position. Your mother sighed and left the room in frustration. You stared at your reflection for a second longer before letting your eyes drift to your right. You now stared at the window, outside, where barely anyone walked past. If you ran out now, no one would notice. You were wrong.
You barely got 100 meters away, with your skirt hitched up, the fabric balled up in your hands, and your heels clicking against the concrete of the street. You hadn't noticed the people calling your name, you hadn't noticed the tears cascading down your cheeks. You didn't register anything but the speed at which you ran until a hand tugged at yours, turning you around. You expected it to be your mother to drag you back, maybe your father with his usual apologetic look in his eyes, just not the handsome features of the man you had met only a week prior.
He didn't look angry like you expected, but his face softened even more when he noticed your tear-stained face. "Hey, hey, it's okay. Everything will be okay." He said, he didn't know why you were crying, but he had a few guesses. He gently took the sides of your face in his hands. His touch was light, not forcing you to look up, but the presence alone was enough for you to look at him. "You don't have to if you don't want to, but I can't protect you if you run away from me." He couldn't get the actual words over his lips that you didn't need to marry him, but he didn't want to force you. You didn't reply, frozen to look up at him as you waited for his next move. 'You're just as dangerous as the ones after my parents.' you had thought to reply, but decided against it.
His eyes scanned your face in a worried manner. The first time you saw him his face was blanc, his eyes barely meeting yours during the exchange as he mostly talked to your parents in a respectful tone. But now, he took the handkerchief from his pocket to carefully dab the tears from your face, a gesture you never imagined a man like him doing. He was with the mafia, a horrible human being, a monster. Right? Your eyes darted across his features as much as his had done to you just a moment before, yet your worry was for something entirely different. He had given you some time to calm down, waiting until your breathing was back to normal. He scanned your eyes for a second, his hands still lightly holding you. "You look so beautiful." He silently whispered, "Come back with me." It sounded like a request but you were sure it was a demand, so you nodded in fear of what would happen if you didn't.
You had barely spoken apart from the necessary words 'I do'. He had asked you if you wanted to go on a honeymoon, it being a chance to actually get to know each other. Though who would go an a honeymoon with someone you didn't want to marry in the first place.
A week later, when all of your stuff had been moved into his house without your knowledge and you were living together, he asked if you would like to go out together. Again you declined thinking you shouldn't go on a date with someone like him. He respected your decision and let you be. 'Why is he so respectful?'
After a few weeks of living there you got your period and realized you didn't bring anything in advance. You cursed yourself for not thinking of such a basic thing. You couldn't go out risking walking around with stained trousers, but you couldn't ask him to go get it either. You hadn't even told your friends about your situation so you couldn't ask them for help. You looked through your bathroom in hopes there would be something that would last long enough for a short trip to the store. In the bottom cupboard stood just what you needed, a small basket filled with different types of pads, tampons, a koala shaped heating pad, some painkillers and even some chocolates. It held a note saying 'Hope this helps you feel better Y/N' you wanted to scoff but you couldn't get yourself to do so. 'Why is he so thoughtful?'
Another week and you had barely seen each other in more than a month of living together. Mostly because you kept to yourself in your room when you didn't go to work. One day you had just arrived home when Hyungwon entered the hallway. You both stood there for a moment unsure what to do. "Y/N" He spoke up, your name flowing like velvet off his lips. You cursed yourself for the way you actually liked hearing him say your name. A silent hum, that you weren't sure if he would be able to hear, signalled him to go on. "Would you join me for dinner tonight?" Was his request. He could see the immediate hesitation from the way you held yourself, the way you didn't look up as you search for your words. Before you could respectfully decline like you always would, he added "If you want we can stay in. I'll make dinner." with some hesitation you nodded. "I'd like that." You said before making your way up to your room.
You didn't want to dress up too much, it wasn't a date after all. Though you did want to be propper and wear a dress. After an hour you looked at yourself in the mirror and smiled. 'not a date' you reminded yourself. You went downstairs, still hearing him busy in the kitchen as the clanging of pots and pans resonated from the room. You peeked past the doorframe to see him cooking your favourite meal with haste, at least attempting to. You could see by the way he held himself in the kitchen that he felt hopeless, not knowing what to do. He glanced back over to the cookbook, utensils in hand as food dripped off them. He muttered a silent curse before going to clean it up. You walked closer, now clearly seeing the cookbook and recognising it. It was the same cookbook your mom had taught you to cook with. Did he ask her for advice? 'Why is he trying so hard?' You thought with a frown. At that moment he got back up from his crouching position, a look of shock on his face as he didn't expect to see you there. He looked busted. Neither of you had much time to say anything though because from behind him came the sound of sizzling and the smell of burnt food.
He quickly took everything off the stove and you had to hold back a laugh as you saw him scurry about. When everything was safe and no longer able to catch on fire, he leaned against the counter with a sigh. "I'm sorry, I wanted to make something nice for you." He said, not looking up at you. You looked around the room and you couldn't help but be amused. The way the kitchen looked, his innocent looking form standing in the chaos, made you forget who this man was. It made you forget your previous judgment of him. "It's okay, let's order something instead." You said with a giggle in your tone and a grin on your face. The sound was like the chime of a bell and magic to his ears and not believing it was real, his face whipped up in your direction. But another laugh left your lips proving what he heard wasn't a dream. You walked closer to him, lightly touching his face with little hesitation to show him the smear of food you had just wiped away. A shy smile appeared at the gesture. "You should probably go wash up and I'll clean up here." You said, but he didn't move an inch in fear you would cower away like a gazelle from a lion, something you often did in the beginning when he entered a room. You stared at him curiously, the questions you had been having about him now whizzing through your mind 'Why does he have to be such a perfect gentleman?' you thought. Why couldn't your mind come up with more red flags than his profession?
Your hand that was still raised close to his face was carefully engulfed by his large surprisingly soft fingers. His touch was always so light, so careful. He watched your every move, your every breath, your every expression trying desperately to read you as he moved your hand closer to his face. Your palm made contact with his cheek as he held it there for a moment, hiding his entrancing eyes from your gaze that had so much effect on him as he let his eyelids close.
For a moment you couldn't help yourself but run your thumb over his cheek, earning a harmonious sigh in response as if he were savouring the moment. But the moment ended when you finally came to your senses in the realisation that this was all a bit strange. You easily escaped from his grip and turned to start cleaning up, clearing your throat to get both of you out of the trance.
You could feel his presence moving from the room as you cleaned in an attempt of not looking at him. You debated leaving the mess and locking yourself back up in your room, but if you were to live with him for the rest of your life you should at least get comfortable enough to eat dinner together. But you didn't intend on enjoying it as much as you did.
You stayed quiet for the most part while waiting for dinner to arrive but you were comfortable enough to sit and listen to Hyungwon talk. He apologised again for burning the food which ended in him telling you stories of his childhood, how his mother wouldn't allow him to touch the stove after he almost burnt down the kitchen once, resulting in him never having even tried to cook since then. You laughed along at his dramatic telling of the story and loving this moment he wished it didn't have to end. So of course he told you more outrageous stories all throughout dinner, and you even told some stories of your own starting to open up to him. But that was exactly what scared you.
"Thank you for having dinner with me." He smiled, "I hope we can do it again soon." His words were sincere and he had no idea how much all of his efforts could be reversed just by that sentence. You had nodded and excused yourself to go to bed (and watch some drama). The entire rest of the evening you couldn't help but have questions of him and your future haunt your mind his words always lingering in the background. Just as the sun was setting, your footsteps could be heard barreling down the stairs. When he heard you he barely had time to react and by the time he got outside you were already long gone.
You walked around aimlessly for a while, seemingly in circles because every time you ended back at the road of his house, your house. Every time you seemed to be walking back until you freaked yourself out again. The truth was, you had been taking notice of him, all of the small things he did to make you more comfortable in the house. If it were anyone else you would jump at the chance to date someone like him. He was your dream man, and you hated it, but you couldn't get yourself to hate him.
Finally, you had calmed down, giving in to the urge to walk back home. It was already dark outside and inside the house, not even streetlights to illuminate your path or the lock of the door as you clumsily tried to open it. You had seen Hyungwon sitting on the balcony, staring out into the distance, so that was where you were going. You might as well talk to him if you're going to live with him.
You sat down next to him wordlessly, you could see him tense, yet again scared that if he spoke or moved you would run away again. "I'm sorry, I freaked out." You admitted after a while, finally allowing him to relax a little. "You shouldn't apologise." He sighed "I understand it must be hard for you. I just wish I knew what I could do to change that." he had been doing everything perfectly, you thought. You just had made a beastly image of him in your mind that you hadn't been able to shake, up until that day. "I'll try harder as well. I haven't judged you fairly. If we had met in any other way I probably would have liked you a lot" You admitted. He wasn't sure how happy he could be about that, but you could see the corners of his lips curl up anyway.
"Remember that new year party you went to with your parents a few years back?" He asked out of the blue, you nodded. "I saw you there and no matter what I did I couldn't keep my eyes from drifting back to you every time. I knew then I was completely enamoured by you." He confessed "When I heard your parents had messed with the wrong people, I just had to protect you so I offered them enough money to pay off their debt if they allowed me to protect you. I know it was tactless, I should just have talked to you, but every time I looked at you I was completely helpless and had no idea how to approach you." He turned away from the vast view of the city and faced you. "I'm so sorry, Y/N. You don't have to act like my wife, no matter how much I would like that. I just ask you to allow me to keep you out of harm's way." Oddly enough feeling safe for the first time in many years hearing those words, you nodded.
â„ Thanks so much for the request @mahomie-sara-9-84 â„
Iâm sorry it took a while <3
You were almost like a sister to Shownu and also almost like a daughter to his parents. So as you came to visit without Shownuâs knowledge, his dad immediately dragged you to the studio. As soon as the door opened and Shownu saw you, a wide grin formed on his features and he immediately walked over to hug you.âIâve missed you so much, howâve you been?â You two reminisced for a minute as a group soon formed behind Shownu, waiting for an introduction.
âGuys, this is Y/N. YN, this is Kihyun, Hyungwon, Minhyuk, Jooheon, IM and Wonho.â He smiled proudly, his arm around you. They all came to greet you in their own way, some just saying hi, bowing and others giving you a hug. Shownu however, gave them a warning look. âJust so you know, sheâs like a sister to me, so hand off.â Â he pointed and they nodded as you stood there, slightly embarrassed. âWhat are you up to today?â Shownu asked
âNothing yet.â
âWell we have to practice some more but you can still stay if you want to. Then we can go out later.â he offered and you took him up on his offer seeing you would probably stay in anyway otherwise.
Every day after that, youâd hang out with the boys. Their schedule wasnât that tight so they made sure your trip to Seoul was definitely worth it.You had gotten very close to all of the boys but one seemed to stand out to you. Hoseok had a different feel to him, yet you couldnât quite put your finger on it. You had gotten closer to him than to any of them and you had to admit, he was attractive.
It was the last day that you were there and all the boys were sad that they couldnât see you before you left, but Wonho seemed extra distracted. Shownu decided that it was time to take a break and they all sat down on the floor just talking. He noticed how distracted Wonho really was that day and he was also aware of the reason. As soon as Wonho looked up from his fiddling fingers, he had made his decision, looking at Shownu, whoâs gaze was already on him.
âIâm sorry hyung.â he said before running out to find you.
When he arrived at the house, he wasnât really sure what he was doing, but he knew he had to act before you were gone.
As he was gathering the courage to walk up to your doorstep, the front door opened and you appeared.
âWonho? What are you doing here?â You wondered, knowing they had practice. Â You walked closer to him as he searched for an answer, but as he found none, he did the first thing in his mind. He quickly walked to you, feeling like you were walking too slow, and he laid his hands on your cheeks. He watched your features closely, but he couldnât find anything but confusion. However, seeing you didnât push him back, he slowly placed his lips on yours, and you didnât hesitate to kiss back.
When you first met him, you had him figured for a playboy, but as you got to know him, you found his true goofy side. And now you could see how romantic and soft he really was. The kiss was slow yet passionate and his hands travelled to your neck, leaving goosebumps on your skin. But as soon as it started, it ended as well. Yet neither of you spoke. His hands still on your neck as he stared down at you, and you were completely mesmerised in by his eyes and, lets be honest, his entire being.
âWhat now?â You silently wondered, biting your still tingling lips.
âI donât know.â He sighed âAll I know is that I couldnât just let you go without telling you how I feel.â
âAnd how is that?â You questioned.
Yoongi - A dream is a wish the heart makes: prologue
Hello darling, I am terribly sorry this took so long. I was inspired by the song but I didnât really incorporate the lyrics in the story so I hope thatâs alright.
This will probably be a 3 part story because it was getting way too long already so I hope you enjoy.

Prologue ,prt1, prt2 (final)
You met Yoongi when you were about 14. You had just moved back to Daegu after living in America for about half your life, and you had immediately found friends in âthe wrong kind of peopleâ. You often spent your days on the bleachers as your friends played basketball. At one time, you saw a new face.
âHey, who are you?â You asked as you approached him. You were quite forward at that age.
âYoongi.â He simply answered.
âHm, Glossy.â You said, literally translating his name, and he smiled slightly.
âYou must be Y/N. You give everyone nicknames in English.â
âThe one and only.â You smiled, walking back to the bleachers as soon as you heard the game was starting.
You didnât expect the two of you to become friends after that meeting but you just kept running into each other, that when the both of you were older, you even went to the same underground club unknowingly.
âCome on, show us what you got. what do I introduce you as?â You heard the DJ talk to someone after your dance performance. Â You looked over to see a familiar, and uncertain, face.
âCome on glossy! Knock âem dead.â you yelled over. his head whipped your way and he smirked, taking the mic.
You had always seen him with his notebook, writing lyrics, but you never expected him to be a musical god, at least thatâs what you saw him as. It was that moment that your friendship really started, that the two of you got to know the ins and outs of each other.
You knew his family didnât approve of his music so youâd help him with schoolwork so he could spend more time doing what he loved. You had become his support system.
âGloss! Gloss!â You whisper yelled, knowing that if his parents or any one else for that matter were around, youâd both be in trouble. âWhere did you disappear to?â
âY/N!â he joined you off the sidewalk with a wide grin âI did it, I auditioned.â
âOmg.â Your eyes went wide looking at his beaming face âYou nailed it didnât you?â
You had never seen him as happy but it was gone as soon as it appeared.
âYou havenât seen me, because Iâve been busy getting ready to move.â
You were sad, yes, but you knew Yoongi would make it big. He made it big as Gloss in your old circles, and heâd do it again in the entirety of Korea.
Even though you stayed your everyday self, youâd soon hear the name Suga going around.
âY/N! Could you stay for the evening shift deliveries?! Hwiyoung just called in sick again.â You boss called for you from the back.
âYeah, sure! Iâll get changed in a bit.â You rushed the orders in pure habit before going to the back to change.
âYouâre an angel.â Your boss smiled âThe coffeeshop would be in shambles without you.â
You nodded, you were just happy that you could earn some extra money. You had a dream, a dream that was far far away.

One word, one word permanently marked on your skin. That was all it took to tell you, absolutely nothing. Everyone had one word, some would have a drawing, hinting at what the sign of your soulmate would be, what would happen once you met.
Blossom
Thatâs what your wrist read.
But you didnât really care. Only 32% of people actually found their soulmate, so why would you still bother looking. Love was weak and pitiful and people were cruel. You learned this first hand.
You even saw soulmates breaking up. They would get back together but who would you want to go through all that. Memories of two years ago ran trough your head as you stared at the cursive lettering.Â
This is a longer version of the story from 'Â Their wife running away again'. It just gets a bit too long sometimes. Enjoy! ~HyeJin
You hated each other, not from day one but you definitely learned to hate each other. You were forced to meet, forced to wed and forced to live together. You had been found the worthless daughter after a line of four strong strapping young men. He was the successful son of an even more successful kingpin who hadn't yet found a woman to marry at the age of 26 and his father found it a disgrace.
It took a year of living under the same roof and being at each other's throats before you cracked and ran off. He couldn't care less but it was his father who was fuming to catch you selling goods on the black market and to have his men drag you back to his son who would "have to teach you a good lesson".
It took him seeing how his father treated you for you to see a different, more protective side of him. He wasn't ever the nicest to you, but as his father came to lecture, he came up for you. He told his own father off, the man who he normally obeyed no matter what he would say. You were in the other room and heard everything they said. Every quality he thought you had, every quirk he thought was a benefit, every 'good' thing he had noticed you do for his and you fathers' groups, when you thought no one had even taken mind of it. He told his father he had no right treating you that way when he hadn't even bothered to visit at your invites.
His father walked out without another word and KiHyun went off to his personal bedroom, not knowing you had overheared the conversation.
He didn't treat you much different after that, but you realised he hadn't been treating you all that bad to begin with. The two of you were just always frustrated and irritable and you took it out on each other. It was the way you both coped with how those around you treated you.
One day you were sitting in the couch reading, not really caring about the stuff that still needed to be done around the house as your feet were sore from a long day. Of course KiHyun, irritable as ever, had to point it out with a grumble and reproach. You looked up at him with a blank face, letting him rant about all of the stuff you had carelessly decided not to do. You slowly closed your book and set it down on the table as you watched him get more and more worked up.
Once he was done with his rant about you, you were still sitting there with your eyes on him as his eyes finally met your gaze. Your expression still calm, almost indifferent. You tapped the spot on the couch beside you, telling him to come sit by you. The scoff that he let out almost sounded like a whimper telling you just how stressed he was. No matter how much he liked to believe you hated each other, he did as you asked. "Talk to me, I know shit is hard so talk to me."
After that evening, instead of yelling insults and throwing blame at eachother, you would actually start talking about what was actually bothering the two of you that day. And you started to tolerate eachother.
One evening he had invited you to a karaoke night with his friends. It was Minhyuk's birthday and his wife had arranged for a party at a local karaoke bar. Apparently Minhyuk had asked if KiHyun would take you so his wife had someone to talk to.
And talk you did as you got along great. You had just done a song together when KiHyun got on stage. You knew he could sing from the times you heard him do so in the shower, but he honestly blew you away now.
When the chorus came you started cheering him on like some others were doing. You sat there clapping with a wide, amazed smile. Forgetting the type of relationship you had a while ago and just enjoying the moment. He made eye contact with you for a while, smiling at you reaction, and you didn't even think about looking away.
What finally ripped away your gaze was a comment from DalRae, Minhyuk's wife . "You're such a beautiful couple." she giggled. "You're so supportive of eachother and he is always looking out for you even when he's with his friends. It makes me think everything can work out even when there's so much going on." she had a light smile on her features by the end of her sentence, as she stared off to the stage, where KiHyun was still singing and occasionally glancing your way. You didn't react much, just mulling her words around in your mind as you went to go get another drink.
Not long after you ordered, Kihyun came to stand next to you to order one for himself as well. As soon as he ordered he turned around, resting his elbows on the bar and looked over at you. You hadn't even glanced his way yet since he joined you, until he spoke up.
"Hey" he simply said, you answering with a 'Hi' of your own.
"How'd you like my performance up there." He chuckled, you smiled at the thought and the tone of amusement in his voice. You had never seen him as happy as today. You finally looked up at him.
"I have to admit, you're pretty good." You smirked as if teasing, matching his energy, yet you knew you were completely serious in saying that. He nodded, getting a bit more serious as both your drinks were slid across the counter. The icy water felt like heaven to your throat. You had been having a lot of fun. Drinking, talking and cheering, making your throat feel like sandpaper and your body feel like it was carved from stone. The glass hit the bar with a loud thud and a sigh from your lips. Kihyun had been watching your every move and caught on to how you were feeling. "You want to go home?" It didn't feel much like a question as there was certainty in his voice, yet you nodded still. "Alright let's go." He looked over to his friends before gulping down his hard liquor just the way you did with the glass of water, as if it were just that.
The two of you got back to the group and Kihyun nonchalantly put an arm around your shoulders, you could almost feel the slight wobble of his body as the alcohol had made his balance a bit off, just not enough to affect the way he walked. "Alright guys," He got their attention, "I think we're going to go, it's getting late." you stared up at him the entire time, not ever thinking him to be this thoughtful. Everyone said their goodbyes and you hugged DalRae as well before the two of you left. You decided to drive the two of you home as you didn't have a driver tonight and he had a bit too much to drink for you to still trust him to drive home safely.
When you arrived you opened the door, dropping your keys in the decorative bowl on the side table and headed for you room, your feet too sore from a long evening standing and dancing to stay standing for much longer. But you didn't get much further than the first step after taking off your shoes as Kihyun's hand taking yours stopped you from walking away from him. He didn't speak so you turned to look at him, which oddly seemed to surprise him. He let go of your hand yet stepped closer until you were mere inches apart, the height at which he stood above you slightly intimidating but not enough to step away. You weren't aware of the trance you were in staring into those chocolate orbs until he cleared his throat, realising himself the silent eye contact had been lasting for a while. "Tonight was fun." He said "It's nice to spend time together ... like that."
Your eyes locked again triggering another moment of entranced silence. Kihyun unthinkingly stepped even close, as if truly wanting to drown in the depths of your eyes. His chest now touching yours and his hand reaching up to brush the strands of hair that had come loose during the night out of your face. His hand naturally taking a path behind your ear, over your jaw and onto your neck. Leaving goosebumps to continue their trail along your arms.
As soon as the thought of his lips on yours crossed your mind they had found their way there. His lips were soft as they barely grazed along yours, still tasting of liquor. The taste snapped you back to your senses before the kiss could deepen. "Kihyun ..." you stopped him "you're drunk" with light pressure with your hand to his chest you pushed him away, but his hand didn't leave the side of your neck as the other held you close by your waist. He closed his eyes, placing his forehead against yours. "I'm not, I promise you. I've been wishing to do that for a while now. I just thought you still hated me until tonight." He sighed, his breath fanning your face. The distinct smell of alcohol tried to tell you to stand your ground, but the heat of his body against yours and the sight of his soft pink lips told you to forget everything and kiss him again. "I don't hate you Kihyun. This just isn't right."
He chuckled "I mean what do you still need me to do. There's already a ring on your finger." This made you laugh. The sight of the wrinkles at your eyes that your wide smile created sent honest butterflies to his stomach. But the sound of your slightly hushed voice and the feeling of your soft chest rising and falling made passion flow through his veins instead as you spoke. "You've done enough. I just need to know that this is real." you spoke, your eyes holding sincerity. "Let me show you that it is." Your lips connected again in a heedless kiss of passion as he was sure he didn't need to hold back anymore. He finally knew that you wanted him just as much as he wanted you. Yet even though he initiated the kiss, he let you lead from there. Not wanting to go too fast, not wanting to go too far, not wanting to lose you now that he could finally hold you like this. After a while the need had grown too strong and you led him to your bedroom, for a moment not caring anymore what the future would hold as you just wanted to get lost in him.
Yet that moment faded when the morning arrived. You always woke up hours before Kihyun so it didn't surprise you that he was still fast asleep next to you once you opened your eyes. You had a deep desire to cuddle close to him, lean into his warmth and forget the world around you existed. But the doubts you had the night before came back to haunt your mind as your gazed at his peaceful features.
You didn't give him the chance to wake up as you ran off after you had what you could possibly call a one night stand with your husband. At least that was what it was probably supposed to be like for the two of you. Yet as you got further away from the house you started to question everything. He was so sincere, so caring and soft the night before. Surely that couldn't have been the alcohol.
You had been driving aimlessly for almost an hour already before you turned the car back around. After only two hours after you ran, you already stood back at the door of the house you shared with the man that had been the only thing on your mind.
You found him in the kitchen, still just in his boxers, but you didn't dare to look at him, pretending like you only went in there to put away the croissants you had picked up on the way. A deep sigh that sounded like one of relief was heard from Kihyun's direction. "I thought you ran." His voice sounded cheerless, almost pained. You couldn't help but be honest with him. "I did." You said, pausing for a moment "But I came back."
He slowly walked toward you as you stood on the other side of the kitchen. His hand found a perfect spot along you cheek with some hesitation as for the first time that day you made eye contact. He slowly leaned in, so you could stop him if you wanted to, but you met him for a kiss instead. A kiss with so much emotion and passion that you could just faint from how lightheaded it got you. "It wasn't the alcohol that made me yearn for you, it just gave me the courage to finally show you how I feel." He said as he broke the kiss after a long while. "I can't live without you anymore. I think" He took a deep breath for a moment. The way you were standing with foreheads leaning against one another mimicked the same comforting position you were in the day before. "I think I love you."

You and Jooheon met when you were still teenagers in the same school. He was part of the bad boys of your year and you were the perfect and kind a student.
One day when the teacher asked for a tutor for Jooheon as some kind of second chance, you were the only one that volentered. Not to the surprise of your teacher or classmates, but definitely to his. He had always been enthralled by you but he didn't know you were just as intrigued by him.
Though your classmates hadn't been surprised by you offering to help him, they were shocked when you two started dating. It was the typical good girl bad boy romance.
It went as far as a long distance relationship when you went to college and he started to work. And after college getting an apartment together to finally getting engaged.
"Tell you what?" you could see clearly that he was trying to keep his voice calm. To think clearly and not let your raised voice get to his head. This only made you more angry.
"Oh, I don't know, maybe the fact that our WEDDING is being paid with f*cking BLOOD MONEY! I can't believe you jooheon!"
His face wasn't as steady anymore, he was clearly frustrated, pained. Yet he still did his best to keep his voice steady and low. "Just baby, drop the bag, we can talk about this."
You didn't drop your bag. You only tightened your grip. Your eyes slowly drifted from fury to regret and sadness. "I don't think we can." was the last thing you said before making your way to your car.
He wanted to stop you. More than anything in the world, he wanted to come after you. But maybe the best thing he could do for you was let you leave. Maybe in another life, maybe one day, he could let himself be happy with you. But he couldn't make you accept what he did, who he was. He couldn't make you love him.
To stop himself from going after you he decided to drown his sorrows instead. Sitting on the living room floor in the apartment you once shared. But no amount of alcohol could wipe the memories off every inch of the place. Even a years after it still reminded him of you. He didn't understand why he couldn't just relieve himself from his misery. He hadn't moved on, he couldn't get himself to move out. Sometimes, like today, "see you later, baby" still quietly rolled off his lips before closing the door on the empty apartment.
"Finally, I've been waiting for 10 minutes" Chankyun muttered when Jooheon got to his car. "Sorry, hadn't noticed that much time had passed." he muttered back. Chankyun rolled his eyes and drove off.
"We can't be late for this. I know it's a party but Shinee will be there and Shownu wants us to get along with them. We can't afford a fued with another gang. Especially of that status." Chankyun usually wasn't the one to lecture in the group but the rest had given him the clear assignment of keeping an eye on Jooheon. They couldn't afford a slip right now and Jooheon had been slipping one too many times lately.
But when they walked in, Chankyun immediately saw 'getting along' wasn't going to be an easy task.
There you stood in the middle of the room talking to none other than Shinee's Minho. Jooheon was just as enamoured by you as the first time he saw you. It didn't matter what Chankyun said, he wasn't listening.
He had to have you back. Or in the least talk to you. His feet seemed to be moving toward you out of his control. That was until he witnessed Minho's lips placed on your forehead. He was boiling inside, but on the outside he was stoic. More stoic than his group members had seen him in a while. Shownu debated going to stop him after hearing from Chankyun what was going on. In the end he decided to see how this was going to play out. Maybe it could be good closure and they could get back to work.
When Minho left your side his place was quick occupied by Jooheon. For a split second you seemed surprised. If Jooheon wasn't taking in every curve of your face, he would have missed it.
"Jooheon." you nodded in his direction.
"You don't seem that surprised to see me." his smile, or smirk even, reminded you of your first meeting as well.
"I figured this would be your scene." you looked around at the men in suits, many with beautiful women on their arms, ignoring the loud music as if it was part of another party.
"Maybe you wanted to see me." he said cockily. You looked at him with raised eyebrow, yet your look soffened when you took in his features. Yes, his smirk said he was confident but his eyes told you another story. You knew those eyes, not from your first meeting, but your last. Those were the eyes of a broken man, a man with regrets, man you wanted to console. You restrained yourself, looking at your feet rather than his eyes.
He had noticed you averting your gaze and knew exactly why. You knew him through and through, even now, but he could read you just as well.
"Do you regret how things ended between us?" he blurted out, though he looked like he knew exactly what he asked. It took you a moment to answer, as if you still needed to build the courage to form the firm "No." that finally left your lips.
"Just grant me a dance then. Prove it, that you have no regrets, no feelings. We can take it fast or slow. Just dance with me tonight and we'll let fate decide." he stretched out his hand to you and you hesitated.
"One dance and you'll let me go after that?" When he promised with a simple nod you took his hand and he led you to where few people were actually dancing. Lucky for you, a slower song was playing. It was almost sensual. Jooheon had agonizing timing.
He wrapped your hands around his neck, almost like he was teaching you how to dance. In that you could actually use the lesson. You had forgotten everything but him in that moment. You fought the urge to pinch your eyes closed and physically shake the thought from your head. You swore to yourself you wouldn't fall for his charm again.
But when his hands met your hips, your body seemed to disagree. From the spot where he touched you, shivers ran up your sides and down your legs. You had the unholy thoughts of good times once spent from entering your mind. How could he still have that effect on you.
"You seem deep in thought, baby." before he knew it, the word had slipped and seeing by your reaction, it had been a mistake.
Your hands shot from his neck back to your sides, taking a step back. His face for the first time that night showed what he was truly feeling. Worry.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean..." he tried to explain himself, but you interrupted him. "Just, let me go." tears brimmed your eyes and you ran off. He couldn't let you go, not like this, not again.
"What do you think you're doing?" an angry Minho was now blocking him from going after you.
"Look, I'm not looking for any trouble. I just need to talk to Y/N. We know each other." he tried to explain himself without causing trouble with who he assumed was your current boyfriend.
"I know who you are." oh shit "you broke her heart, I'm not going to let you do it again."
No matter how much Shownu wanted MonstaX and Shinee to become allies, they stood behind Jooheon as soon as they noticed trouble. "neither will I" Jooheon answered Minho, pushing passed him. Minho meanwhile being stopped by Shownu.
"Let this play out. You knew what you were getting into when you brought her here."
Lucky for Jooheon, you hadn't gone far. You were instead walking in circles around the fountain nearby, staring at your reflection in the water until his joined it. You faced him, not knowing what you wanted to tell him, even when your heart was screaming it.
"I can't let you go." he whispered "if I let you go again, I might not survive it."
You didn't have to say it for him to know you felt the same way.
Why?
Because as soon as he said it your lips connected with his in a hungry kiss. A kiss that told him how deprived you had felt in those few years apart. And he responded with just as much feeling.
When you broke apart it took a moment of staring into eachother's eyes for the both of you to catch your breaths and get back to reality. Jooheon pinched his eyes closed, creating a pained expression.
"What about your boyfriend?" he asked, honestly wanting you to be happy and worried of the trouble the kiss could bring you. Especially in these circles.
"I never really started dating again after you." you cheepishly admitted.
"Then Minho..."
"is my brother." you finished, not all that surprised by his assumption. But the truth shocked him more.
"I thought you wanted nothing to do with... My kind of people." he didn't want to say it. Like he was ashamed of it.
"I was born into it, I tried to escape it but instead ran straight back into it with you. I've realized now it's not something I can escape." you gave him another deep kiss "and now I don't think I want to anymore."
Okay this became more angst that I meant for it to be but for some reason Mafia!Minho is just an angsty boi. I hope you like it!

*Remember, everything is an AU*
Iâm alone in the apartment. He isnât here again. I donât blame him, but I canât help but wonder what heâs doing at this moment. If Iâll actually see him again.
Your journal was all you had to talk to most evenings. You never were one for journaling in the past, but you had started it for your mental health. You just had been so stressed and worried lately that you needed a way to vent. You couldnât exactly do that to your friends about most subjects that ran trough your mind. Minho didnât exactly do the most safe and legal job.
At first you believed he worked for a bank, a small financial business in the outskirts of the city. Yet when he one day came home badly wounded, and wouldnât tell you anything about it, you questioned if that was all he did. It happened again, and again, until he had no choice but to tell you. Yet even when he attempted to explain, you still had no idea what he was saying. He did in fact work for that bank, but they provided money and bank accounts for what you believed were outlaws. They claimed that they are vigilantes, yet you were starting to become more certain that it wasnât so rose coloured.
Without realising you had dropped your pen after having scribbled some barely readable lines and your mind was focused on the subject. The front door opened without you noticing. Fingers wrapped around your shoulders slowly and you jumped up, slapping whoever it was across the face in defence. Your eyes widened in shock and you let out a gasp as you noticed your attacker.
âOh Minho Iâm so sorry!â you lunged towards him, taking his face in your hands and hoping you didnât hurt him too badly. His face went from shock to a smirk. âIf youâre going to react that way against an intruder I donât need to worry when youâre home alone.â He chuckled.
You smiled up at him before wordlessly wrapping your arms around his waist. You felt a light shock going trough his body, as if he winced away but stopped himself. Your brows knitted to a frown as you looked back up at him, not taking your arms away. He tried to avert your gaze, attempting to hug you tighter so he wouldnât have to explain himself, or worry you. However, you pulled away from him, lifting his shirt the expose a large bruise on his ribcage. Without taking your eyes of it, you guided him to sit down, taking off his shirt with his assistance, before dropping to the level of his bruise. You went to touch it lightly, your touch feathery that he would barely feel it. Your fingers spread but the bruise was even larger than your hand. Your gaze finally met his again in concern, but he didnât speak. His face was saddened, almost as if you were the one hurting. Which you were in a way.
You stood from your spot to get an icepack wrapping a towel around it before going back to his side, holding the pack on his bruise in hopes it would help. No words had been said this entire time, your eyes seemed locked on each other until you leaned in for a light kiss. His hand lay on yours that was holding the icepack and your other hand found its way to his bare chest. It took a moment for you to realise he was shirtless, and that was your doing. A blush crept on your cheeks and you fought the urge to jerk away from him. Instead, you broke the kiss and took a step back, not meeting his gaze again for fear of his reaction to what you were about to say.
âI know you wonât tell me what happened, or even what you do day to day, but I wish you would. I wish you could just be safe at home, but I know I canât demand that of you. I just donât know what to do. Â In my mind every evening Iâm just preparing to have you come home with a bullet wound again, or even not at all. I just, I just canât take that thought.â You heard him shift from his seated position and his arms wrapped around you so tightly you thought he was planning to never let go, you didnât want him to. âIâm so sorry.â He continuously muttered, leaving kisses on the top of your head
After a while the two of you broke apart and he guided you to bed before he went to check if everything was in order and he could get ready for bed himself. He locked the door and turned off all the lights. When he went to turn of the small light you were seated at before, he noticed your journal. He didnât want to intrude on your privacy so he went to close it, but even on first glance he could see it scribbled full with worries. Worries of him and his safety, of him being hurt as he was late once again. It pained him badly knowing you were always so quiet yet your mind seemed to scream so loudly. He wished he could change, change what he did, but for now heâd just hold you close, telling himself heâd never let go.
