Here are some tips I use to practice effectively and improve!

1. Minimize potential distractions

a. Turn off your phone and/or any other things that might distract you

2. Start out slowly or in slow motion

a. Repitition helps build coordination even if it’s incorrect

b. When you gradually increase speed you have a better chance of doing it correctly

3. Frequent repititions and breaks

a. Studies show many top athletes, musicians, and dancers spend 50-60 hours per week on activities related to what they do

4. Practice in your brain

a. Practice in your brain with vidid detail

b. Lots of studies suggest that once a physical motion has been established, it can be reinforced by just imagining it.

Wether you’re about to audition or you’re just feeling nervous, here are some tips for calming down

1. breath

try some breathing techniques, i usually breath in 4,hold 4, and breath out 4. then repeat a few times.

2. try to not think about it

this may be difficult depending on the situation but try to put it in the back of your mind and not think about it a lot

3. listen to music

listen to music to distract yourself, calm songs usually help

4. write it down

write down what you’re feeling and let your feelings out

5. get fresh air

if you can, go outside and get some fresh air and clear your head
