He kinda dislikes sleeping.
Due to his disease(s) he spent a lot of time in the hospital, with sedatives, practically sleeping against his will, practically chained up to a bed because his head and his body hurt every time he tried to move and there was no one to help him around with his IV.
So during his time at Hope's Peak he usually stayed up reading for an hour and then only got six hours of sleep, since he knew it was necessary for his body to have more energy, but he feels like his mind is still filled with energy and whenever he goes back to sleep he gets reminded of those days at the hospital.
