Part 2
Pairing: Bokuto x f!Reader
Warnings: Mature Themes | Fluff |
Word Count: 1510
Prompt: Soulmate AU
(M/n): Mother’s name | (S/n): Sister’s name
Soulmates:
When a person turns 15 they get a tattoo on any part of their body. But that tattoo are words rather than an image, and the words? The words that your soulmate will say to give you such an impression on them will appear on you at the age of 15 regardless if you have met them or not. The same goes for them. The thing about this, is that there was a small percentage of people who have words on them but their soulmate wouldn’t since they would already be destined for another. It was the worst thing you could get, an unrequited soulmate. When someone has met their soulmate a small pattern behind the words will form, when the pattern is forming it feels as though the person is being stung or pricked.
(Y/n) never really thought about ever having to leave her country to go to Japan. It was something that was far from her mind when she had first started the ninth grade. But life was so unpredictable, things happened and you either had to grow from those things or continue to stay the same. There were times when people got stuck yes but they had people to help them move on with life. Some relied on themselves and that was okay. But (Y/n) fit into both categories. That was why her mother had to intervene, she had to get her away from her situation, being a single mother made that a bit hard but she tried her best.
And judging by the results she sure did pretty damn good. There (Y/n) was sitting in the car as her mother drove to their new home. It was the house of a single man who had a son in the same high school (Y/n) would be attending. Her mother told her that they would also be having to change their last names, as much as she wanted to keep her maiden name she knew it was best to change it. Yet her mother hasn’t told her what she would be changing it to.
“Alright we’re here.” Her mother parked the car in front of a house. It was a nice looking house, nothing too fancy.
“Mom, remind me again why we are moving in with two strangers rather than having our own apartment.” (Y/n) looked away from the house to her mother, who was taking off her seat belt.
“Because, I can't keep an eye on you while I’m at work. What if something happened while I was gone.” Her mother places a hand on her own.
“But aren’t we just bothering these people with that. It’s not like he’s going to find me, we moved halfway across the world to get away from him.” (Y/n) looked down at her hands.
“I know baby, but I’m not risking that. Plus I told him our situation. He fully understands and is willing to help. He’s a good man, trust me honey.”
(Y/n) nodded, she did trust her mother. She trusted her mother more than anything in her life. Her mother had proven to her multiple times that she was a capable and strong woman. She did anything she could to protect and keep her children happy.
(M/n) turned around to look at the sleeping five year old in the back. “(S/n) baby wake up. We’re here.”
The little girl groaned in her sleep. It didn’t seem like she’d budge in waking up. Her mother sighs, “This child. (Y/n) do you think you could get her out while I get some bags to take in?”
“Yeah.” Both of them got out of the car.
(Y/n) picked up the sleeping child and walked with her mother to the front door. As soon as the doorbell rang the door opened. (Y/n) noticed a man with black hair open the door. He didn’t look young but he looked young for his age.
“You’re finally here! Please come in!” The man stepped aside, this gave them the view of the inside of the house. There was a small little banner with words she could vaguely see and a teen with rooster looking hair trying to fix the banner.
Once they walked in they removed their shoes they walked into the home, the door closing behind them. The man shifted around them to stand next to the by, who (Y/n) assumed was his son. They pulled out little poppers and pulled them, little confetti came out just as they said, “Welcome Home.”
Now being this closer to them she finally could see the banner with words that said ‘Welcome to our Family.’
After dinner (Y/n) found herself sitting outside enjoying the fresh breeze. She hardly had this back home, she always had to stay inside unless it was necessary for her to leave the house. But that quietness ended when she heard a door opened and closed behind her. She said nothing until a body sat next to her and spoke.
“So, how’s it feel to be the newest addition to the Kuroo family?” His voice was deep but a slight hint of teasing in it.
“Don’t really know. Am I supposed to call you Onii-san now or something?” (Y/n) emphasized on the word before looking at the smirking teen.
“It’s not a requirement but you still can. After all, to other people we’ll be seen as step siblings for now on.” Tetsurō kept smiling at her. He didn’t want to admit it but he thought she was pretty cute. He started to feel a bit dumb when he said she could still call him big brother but he just pushed it aside since it was clearly her way of joking.
“In all seriousness what do I call you? If I call you Kuroo-san it’ll discredit our “step sibling” story.”
He stopped to think for a second, “Well Tetsurō is fine really.”
(Y/n) nodded her head, “Alright Tetsurō it is. You can just call me (Y/n).”
Kuroo’s face still had a smile on it, “Alright, well why don’t you tell me something about yourself (Y/n).”
“What would you like to know?” (Y/n) looked away from him and looked up at the dark sky.
“Mmm, well maybe why you came to Tokyo? My dad didn’t really tell me, he just said stuff happened and you guys needed to leave.” Kuroo kept his eyes on her, he noticed her body stiffen just a bit.
“That’s something I don’t feel comfortable talking about actually.”
“Yeah sure. Hold on, let me think of something.” In the corner of her eye she could see Kuroo raise his hand to his chin with a serious look on his face, “Small talk or like deep shit?”
His words caused her to let out a small chuckle, “Mm, let’s go with deep shit.” Kuroo could see her smile as she laid her back against the floor with her arms spread out as she continued to look up.
Kuroo nodded and continued to think, leaving them in silence. “Got it! If you were dying, how would you prefer to die?”
(Y/n)’s laugh had now become his favorite thing to listen to. It was sweet, and the way that the look in her eyes were now staring at him...it felt nice. “What is wrong with you?”
Her smile was contagious, “What you said deep shit.” He raised his shoulders slightly.
He noticed the way she shook her head while lightly chuckling. Her head moved back to the sky. He didn’t know why she kept looking, it was as if she was obsessed with it. Or that it brought her some sort of comfort. But then he noticed her chuckle died down as she started to think, but the smile on her lips didn’t fade away.
“I’ve never really thought about it. But-” The arms that were spread apart were now making their way into her chest. Her arms now holding onto herself, “I guess dying in the arms of someone I love would be a pretty good way to go.”
The words coming out of her mouth sounded so familiar, like he had heard them being said out loud before. And then he got a pricking feeling on his rib cage. “Ow”
(Y/n)’s head turned towards him, “Are you okay?”
“Yeah. Probably just a mosquito bite. We should probably go in now. We can continue our talk later.” Kuroo tried to play off the fact that he knew what the pain was from.
“Yeah, you’re right.”
As soon as they got in Kuroo immediately went to the bathroom. He closed the door behind him, after locking the door he looked at the mirror. He slowly lifted up his shirt to see the words he had somehow forgotten after all this time, the words (Y/n) had just spoken. But not only were there words, a pattern had now formed, a pattern that meant he had found his soulmate. “Shit.”
