Konstanten: I'm a staunch admirer and lover of my taller wife. I enjoy her height, dominance of her physique, and her overall supremacy. Umm... I enjoy my tall my wife. *cracks up* I enjoy my very big spouse... so much. I love my big wife, guys, I don't know what to tell you.
awww i love it when the main companions have dialogue with the sidekicks đĽ°

Off track for Adi?
Just in time for @watcher-wednesday!
-------------------------
âAdi, are you sure this is the right way?â
Adela paused at the question and bit her lip, running a more critical eye over their surroundings than she had thus far. â...I thought it was. I left a marker right where I glimpsed the ruins; and it it looked like a pretty straight shot out from the main road.â
âYeah, but, Watcher, we havenât exactly been travelinâ a straight line,â Konstanten interjected, leaning against a tree to shake something out of his boot.
âWe havenât?â Xoti frowned as she flicked a leaf from her hair. âYou can tell?â
Adela toyed with the tail of her braid as she and Xoti both looked at Konstanten expectantly.
âWell, itâs generally impossible to go anywhere in a straight line when a place is this overgrown,â he explained with a smile, running a hand over his hair. ââLess thereâs a road to follow, which we donât have.â
âSo... weâre lost?â Adela pursed her lips, ears tipping back. EdĂŠr was never going to let her live this down.
âI didnât say that,â Konstanten laughed. âWeâre only lost if we canât find our way forward or back, and--â he jerked a thumb over his shoulder â--we have a good shot with back.â
Adela and Xoti followed the gesture to note the fairly clear--and not at all straight--trail theyâd left through the vegetation.
âBut I donât want to go back unless we have to,â Adela said, swiping one foot through a trailing vine cluster and wondering with a small pang of guilt if they were so turned around because sheâd been leading even though she could hardly see over some of the flora on this island. âI want to see those ruins. anâ you twoâre at least a little curious toâve come with me instead of heading back to the ship with Aloth and Rekke.â
Xoti and Konstanten shared a look and shrugged.
âWe can try pushinâ on a little farther,â Konstanten said, glancing at their surroundings and then up at the sky as best he could through the trees. âI think I got an idea of how off-course we got and how to fix it. But if we donât find these ruins soon, Watcher, weâre gonna need to head back.â He chuckled wryly. âPart of why you found me in Neketaka was the desire to not die in the middle of some gods-forsaken jungle.â
âDeal,â Adela nodded, then looked up at Xoti. âIf thatâs alright with you?â
The priestess shrugged again. âSure, why not? These better be some darn good ruins, though, Adi.â
âMy thoughts exactly,â she laughed, then gestured for Konstanten to lead the way. Hopefully he could do a better job finding their goal than she had so far.
He did, and fast enough Adela had a couple hours to roam the ruins, copying inscriptions, taking rubbings or making sketches while Xoti and Konstanten looked around more casually. The return trip was much easier; Konstanten led them back along their own trail(which she couldnât even see in spots) to the road, and from there it wasnât long back to the Ilhana.
She gave him a kiss on the cheek as she waited for Xoti to be far enough up the rope ladder she could safely start climbing as well. âThatâs for salvaging my little sidetrip.â
âMy pleasure,â Konstanten chuckled. He glanced up as Xoti climbed over the ship rail and gave Adela a wink.âEven if we were lost for a couple minutes in there.â
She laughed--âYour secretâs safe with meâ--and started up the ladder.
