My opinion of the manga 'Sweetness and Lightning' by Gido Amagakure
Because I finished the final volume yesterday.
I thought it was really sweet. Although sometimes, I feel like we could have known more about Kohei Inuzuka's wife and more about the grief felt by both him and Tsumugi. I thought the flashbacks were quite short when it came to the wife.
But the characters are quite memorable. My favourite character is Kotori. Honestly, I would really love seeing more of her. I also wish I got to see Tsumugi growing up. She's quite cute and such a great daughter. And Kohei is one of the best fathers I've seen in a long time.
(in my humble opinion, his manga version is hotter than the anime version lol)
I also like how they treated the romantic feelings Kotori had for Kohei. The manga writer established immediately that it was wrong for them to date while she's in high school simply because he's a teacher and she's a student. He doesn't even give any indication of Kohei's own romantic feeling until the end of the manga, when he starts to return them when Kotori is like 29 and she's wayy more mature.
Did I mention Tsumugi was great? Yeah I did. Tsumugi is amazing, period.
And all the food they made looked delicious.
