Happy watched the scene unfold in front of them. The asinine way people conducted themselves was grating. This is why he preferred taking the car instead of the train, but it was always quicker to get out of the city this way. Traffic in New York would have made the trip twice as long.

being  apart  of  both  the  guardians  and  the  avengers  was  a  difficult  task  at  times,  having  to  juggle  space  and  earth  wasn't  ideal  but  she  enjoyed  it  none  the  less.  as  many  beings  as  she  could  save,  the  better.  the  back  and  forth  meant  that  she  never  really  had  the  time  for  breaks,  they  were  a  rarity. 

however,  she  was  on  vacation  from  guardian-ing  and  there  were  no  missions  for  her  right  now  on  earth  either.  so  a  return  from  the  cosmos  wasn't  needed  and  neither  was  her  staying  in  space…  what  did  she  do?  she  came  back  down  to  earth  anyways.  now  she  was  at  the  avengers  compound,  a  bit  exhausted  from  the  journey  but  still  buzzing  with  excitement.

she  loved  earth  a  lot,  it  was  more  of  a  home  than  space  —  even  if  her  home  would  always  be  with  the  guardians.  this  was  more  stable,  cushy.  she  could  spend  endless  days  here  and  get  lost  in  the  nature  of  it  all.

her  excitement  however,  is  shortlived;  apprehension,  confusion  and  curiosity  taking  over  at  the  sight  of  someone  she  hasn't  seen  before.  granted,  it's  been  a  while  since  she  came  down.

Mary catches the lighter with both hands, turns it over — flicks the flame once, twice, then nods approvingly.

in memories so far back in her mind there are imagines of the coldest winter, tallest snow, a small dimly lit room and one kind lady trying her best to make the tiny body come to life - no. that is the past, this is ... something else entirely. a world full of possibilities for an her that feels so foreign in comparison. what's it like to have me as a mother? she's not going to ask the hard questions, it's been a day full of revelations and she's not exactly sure either of them truly wants to dwell into whatever these feelings are ( natasha surely doesn't feel like )

the holster is placed in front of him, something that had been broken before - a cause of his lack of caution in battle. they were all dear to him, his uniform something that he took pride in. seeing it fixed, he picks it up off the table - admiring the manner in which she had fixed it. ❝  not bad, kid. ❞ turning it over in his hand, there was no signs of it ever having been broken. she had managed to fix all the seams on it. he knew better than to question how she had done it. no doubt, she had put hard work into it. it was custom to fit the pistol that he used frequently, fitting it's odd shape into the holster.

"It's great to see you, too, fetiță..." he spoke with a soft sigh as he moved over to his desk and picked up a bottle of his favorite brandy, hoping it would help whatever he was about to face with his teenage daughter.

"FIRST OF ALL, they're not goons, that's demeaning. They're SOLDIERS." He plucked the crystal cap off of his Țuică and poured a fair amount into the glass that matched the bottle, setting that bottle down after replacing the cap. "And second..." Bucky turned to face Anya, shaking his head slightly with a small shrug

"I did not order them to scare away your FRIENDS AND CRUSHES. I ordered them to scare away any potential danger to you." He pointed to them with the glass still in his hand. With that, he took a healthy sip of the brandy, moving to go to the other side of his desk, taking a seat and leaning back somewhat.

"I will have a talk with them..." He offered as a compromise.
