awful wasn't even the best word to describe it. so much had happened in the hours since he saw his sister's lifeless body on that floor, since he's had those visions of bloody battlefields and people sobbing over their loved ones. vex had noticed it, of course she had. he wasn't expecting keyleth to notice it. why would she, when her attention had been anywhere else all day?
“ tell me about it. ” gods, he's exhausted. the fire crackles in front of them, and he sits with his legs pulled up to his chest. part of him wants to be alone with his thoughts, to try and make sense of the visions plaguing him, to try and discover exactly what he's done with the pledge he's made to save his sister's life. all of the visions showed the matron of ravens, and he assumes it's not a great omen. “ i'm ready for it to be over. how are you holding up? ”
