What Happens During a 2D Echo Test?
If your doctor has recommended a 2D Echo (2D Echocardiography), don’t worry—it’s a safe, non-invasive test that provides crucial insights into your heart’s health.
So, what exactly happens during the test?
You’ll lie down comfortably on an exam table. A cool gel is applied to your chest to help transmit sound waves. A small device called a transducer is gently moved over your chest area. It sends sound waves that bounce off your heart and create real-time moving images. 🫀 These images show your heart's size, shape, movement, and valve function—helping detect conditions like valve disease, heart failure, or fluid buildup.
The whole process usually takes 15–30 minutes and is completely painless. You can go home right after!
At Shivaay Hospicare, our cardiology team, including a trusted Lady Physician in Vadodara, walks you through each step with care—because understanding your heart shouldn’t be intimidating.
